The rooms have an unpleasant odor of cigarettes, and the receptionist displays a very rude demeanor. I discovered dried blood stains on the bed sheets and marks on the covers. When I attempted to discuss this with the receptionist, the only person in charge, he responded with an attitude. Instead of being reasonable, he suggested that the stains were likely my doing, which I found offensive. Another staff member mentioned that it might have been spilled wine. The receptionist then added that if I was dissatisfied, I did not have to return. Update : I attempted to give this establishment another chance, but to my dismay, I encountered the same receptionist as during my previous visit. He exhibited a rude demeanor and refused to provide me with a room. When I requested the contact information for his manager or the person in charge, he disregarded my request. I documented this incident, and it is truly disrespectful in every aspect, considering I merely stood there.

Have been emailing Urban cowboy for a few days…read more.. I was told I can do a special boudior shoot at their tree house for $450 for 4 hours... As a bride who cares about details I decided to do it and that we would rent out the tree house for 2 days the weekend of our wedding in October! Costing us $2,000 despite probably not being able to find anyone to fill the second room for $500 a night! But I wanted it to be worth it. We spend our first night as husband and wife at the same location where had a special boudoir shoot for my future husband to cherish forever ! And it'll be special for the both of us! On May 19th I was told it was $450 for the shot! Great! I'll spend it and pay my photographer,it's worth it! 2 days later I was told their policy changed! 2 days!!!!!! Despite them giving me their word! So then they asked for me to pay the full day buy out 1,000 for the shoot! I only need 2-4 hours max! And they couldn't change their policy that's SO IMPORTANT! If it's so important why was I told otherwise by their own employee) Anyway I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. Yes the place is cool but clearly they only care about the money rather than customer service! I'm personally live my life being held accountable for my word. I would never say something I wouldn't/couldn't do (if you ever had kids or dealt with them you know they'll hold you up to it) isn't that how you should run a business?!?! Your mistake! Your problem?! Maybe learn but also stay true to what you said and don't let it happen again?! But clearly the people at Urban Cowboy don't care about their word! So disappointed!!! And I was planning to use them for other things! Baby moon, baby shower, anniversary! They just lost this lifetime customer over their own mistake! - I even have screenshots of our conversation! But can't post photos on here for some reason.

I rented the Urban Cowboy B&B for a full weekend last year…read more Jersey, the inn keeper, was a terrible communicator. I inquired about a full rental and she rarely followed up, never answered questions, and her emails were littered with typos. This should have been a warning sign but I was too smitten with the venue. Against my better judgement, I continued to reach out and went forward in renting the house for a full weekend. We used the house as lodging for my wedding party and as a base to get ready in the morning. I also inquired about hosting a 30-person rehearsal dinner at the house, for which I had to pay an additional event fee. The event rental (an additional $2k) provided us with no additional benefits, not even a floor plan when requested. And good luck coordinating your event with Jersey. Since she's so unresponsive, you'll have to guess at the logistics and just do everything yourself. The folks here are not afraid to upcharge you at every corner. Imagine my shock when this "bed and breakfast" wanted to charge us for breakfast and housekeeping- something that IS included with room stays but apparently NOT with the more expensive full house rental. Nowhere was this greedy policy disclosed on the website or in our contract- we felt falsely advertised to and misled, and it contributed to making us feel unwelcome during our stay. The lack of hospitality continued the rest of the weekend. Jersey made us feel like we were invading the house or something, and all I ever got from her were feelings of resentment. Yikes! I'm sorry you have to live in the basement for the weekend but maybe you shouldn't rent out the house or you should find a new occupation. No smiles, no congratulations, just rude glares at us from across the room. Jersey had no qualms about coming upstairs every hour during our rehearsal dinner- telling us to keep it down and just making us feel really awkward. We were a tame group who kept the noise at a respectful level the entire time. We shut down before 10:30pm. But since the Urban B&B had already received noise violations and was already in trouble with their neighbors due to raucous partying they've had in the past, *I* was being penalized and policed at every corner. Checkout was noon and though my entire party was on time for check out, even tidying up a bit in the kitchen, backyard, and bedrooms, Jersey was upstairs in the main living area at 10AM watching our every move. She was rushing us out, did not lift a finger to help do anything, and it soured the experience even more. The house is very pretty. The main living areas and master bedroom are as lovely as the photos. The kitchen is a dream. The other bedrooms are a little cold and sparse, and I felt bad for guests staying in the smaller, draftier rooms. They don't feel nearly as special as the rest of the house. The cabin is conceptually cool, though not the most comfortable place to sleep (and it's hard to forget you're in a backyard in Brooklyn). The wall hanging of a native american skull against a backdrop of cowboy memorabilia also made me feel really uncomfortable- talk about insensitive. The place could benefit from some security. One of the design features of the house are the giant garage doors that lead to the front and backyard. Cool but not very secure. On the first day, during our rehearsal dinner, the garage door was left open. A total stranger wandered inside during broad daylight and, if we hadn't caught them suspiciously eyeing our bags, I'm not sure what would have happened. We closed the garage door promptly after that and locked our rooms every night. The house photographs beautifully, but I would never recommend this to anyone as lodging. Jersey was the most unpleasant person I have ever had to work with- and *I* was the client! The folks who run it should not be in the hospitality business. Save yourself the headache, listen to the reviews, and stay elsewhere.

My room came to about 435 dollars for one night. The lobby and room are super basic, absolutely nothing special (kind of reminiscent of a Ramada Inn or some similar budget hotel). It pains me to pay that much for basic, yes, even in New York City (and we ARE talking Brooklyn here, even if one of the. most trendy, happening neighborhoods). So, while there was absolutely nothing wrong with my stay, I'm a bit bitter about blowing that much money on a hotel that's so low brow, they actually called me 10 minutes before check out time to remind me that it was check-out time. What? That has literally never happened to me before.

The room is so small, I can't even open my suitcase, and I have to maneuver around it, just to get around the room. Paper thin walls. My room is between two others, so on one side I hear people arguing, on the other, a couple having relations - it's about 3am as I write this. The street noise is relentless. As others have written, cigarette and marijuana smoke can be smelled in the hallway. The heater/air conditioner is wildly inconsistent and my room keeps shifting from hot to cold. The carpet is old and falling apart. The bathroom is about 1 foot from the bed and has a sliding door, that doesn't provide much privacy. If you're traveling with someone, you REALLY have to be cool with hearing everything they do in the bathroom. If your bathroom and toilet isn't enough, because of the super thin walls, be prepared to hear EVERY. SINGLE. TOILET that may be surrounding you at all hours of the night. The staff has been nice, but I arrived about 30 minutes early and was told my room was ready, but I wouldn't be allowed to check in unless I paid a $50 fee, which I refused. I was told I could wait in the dining area to have breakfast (which wasn't actually available). There was coffee and water, but I was not about to eat pastries that had literally just been stored by a sanitation bucket. I can't believe this is what you get for about $500 a night. Not four-star at all. While the hotel is in Williamsburg, don't expect to feel safe or comfortable walking back to this place at night. I may be traveler, but I actually grew up in Brooklyn, this is not a place a would recommend to anyone. It's on a poorly lit, poor foot traffic part of the neighborhood, the creepy highway underpass alone is enough to give anyone pause. My job has me booked here for four days, but I'm leaving in the morning. This is a fine place for people looking for a party hotel or twenty-somethings trying to save some money, but for most adult or business travelers, you will find it extremely lacking. The room was clean. The shower was fine.

The front desk person and housekeeping were very understanding and moved me to a new room. The new room smelled less like cigs, but still like cigs. At night (a week night), they had some kind of DJ thing going on in the bar. It was so loud. It was shaking my bed on the second floor. It's on me for not reading reviews. I'm in town for work and looking for an apartment, so was trying to find a cheap option. Maybe not the best place if you need a solid night's sleep or are sensitive to smells. Again though -- staff were 5/5 amazing. I've worked in hospitality so I'm sure they get a lot of s***. They were all friendly and accommodating. I know they're not the ones booking the DJ or smoking in the rooms.
