What an amazing place! Our hosts couldn't be nicer and the inn has everything we could possibly want. In room hot tub, homemade cookies in the lobby, walking distance (we're talking 5min or less) to all the shops and best restaraunts on main street, on-site bar with crazy reasonable prices.... We have a tradition of going to Mt. Snow's Oktoberfest every October, so we've driven past the Wilmington Inn many times. This year, our friends celebrated their wedding at the Wilmington In , and the majority of guests stayed, including us. There's plenty of on-site parking and as soon as you walk in, you feel the owners' passion for the property. The decor is classic Vermont, and the common spaces have comfortable, inviting furniture. There is also a bar area where you can purchase any number of craft cocktails, which are expertly made. We stayed in the Wilmington room, which is one of the few rooms with a King bed. The room was beautifully furnished, with a nice high bed, armoire, and television. The bathroom has a beautiful jacuzzi tub and shower. The linens were fresh and comfortable. Where the owners truly shined was with hosting the event. We truly felt special during the weekend. Every evening a fire was made in the fire pit out front. The breakfast each morning was delicious. And the main common room was cleared of furniture in one day to accommodate the wedding tables. Everything looked fabulous and made for an incredible wedding. I highly recommend The Wilmington Inn, whether for a quick stay, or your special event. You will not be disappointed! read more

Charlie and Megan have created a perfect little oasis . Anytime I visit Wilmington, this inn is the only place I will stay. This was my second visit, and despite being 4 years apart, they remembered me and my mom. The inn is beautifully restored, while including the modern necessities, but still holding true to the country farm house. Both rooms I've stayed in are spectacular and comfortable. But the best part of staying at the inn are Megan's breakfasts. I have never eaten more morning carbs in my life. Her pancakes are second to none. The frittatas are insanely delicious. The fresh eggs and bacon are to die for. They are perfectly located just at the start of town, perfect walking distance to shops and adventures nearby. They have games and puzzles and don't even make fun of you when you camp out on the floor of the common room playing cards. Charlie also runs a great little bar, and without even having to ask, somehow knew a campfire and s'mores was what we needed on out last night. I will forever adore this inn, and the people who run it. Can't wait for next year! read more

Stayed here midweek for two nights. Hosts Charlie and Megan are a great team and awesome hosts. Restaurants are walking distance, and Charlie oriented us with the convenient map, including what was open midweek. Clean room, and Inn was clean throughout. Lovely breakfast by Megan included in the rate. Charlie's bar is available and there's a nice area there to relax in as well as a living room with a fireplace. Good wifi, but I wasn't taxing it. Mount Snow very close for skiing but also plenty of other activities, especially hiking, nearby. Right price for our needs-will definitely go back. read more

We found the Wilmington Inn on Airbnb. It didn't have any reviews yet, but I found some good reviews after a Google Search. Megan and Charlie are the new innkeepers since February of this year. We arrived late Friday afternoon. The inn has a steep, narrow driveway. It wasn't an issue for our civic, but the party bus didn't attempt going up. This inn was built in the late 1800's, but is modern with some of antique details. The grounds are beautiful with many trees, plants, and grass. We pulled up to the main entrance to check in. Megan greeted us and gave us a quick tour of the downstairs. The inn is so quaint and cozy. There was a fireplace decorated for fall, a coffee station with some snacks, bar area, adorable reading nook, great room, and dining room. Outside there was a fire pit and deck. I really wanted to snuggle up in the ol' reading nook, but we were so busy that weekend! My husband and I were staying in Betty's room in the carriage house. I think that there were 3 rooms in there. Our room was on the 2nd floor. It was cozy, quiet, and clean. The room had everything we needed. I would bring an eye mask if you're light sensitive, as the sunlight peeks in through the blinds. (Miss Kim Travel Tip) The bed was comfortable and we slept well. Parking lot was large and lit well enough at night. Location is great as you can walk downtown to the shops and restaurants, and also about 10 minutes from Mount Snow. Breakfast was a nice touch and the true Vermont way. On both days I enjoyed the Eggwich with tomato and cheese. Delish! We also had juice, tea, fruit, and small slices of blueberry loaf. Everything was prepared by Megan. Our waitress was quick and witty. It was the perfect start to each day. If you bring your own wine or beverage, they can store it in their fridge or bring you an ice bucket. You can also order a drink at the bar from Charlie. On Sunday morning, we check out and I was sad to be leaving this place. Though we didn't stay very long, we really enjoyed our weekend in Wilmington. Hopefully we can return to this gem for another stay during the Winter. read more

The Inn is on the west side of town so walking around is easy. Charlie and Megan were very friendly and accommodating to make sure I had a great experience. I was lucky to stay over a Wed night as the Inn had local entertainment and local food vendors. Tho event was from 6-9pm so it was not like a late night event. There is a lot to do in the area. The breakfast selection was great and Megan made it all fresh. I often stay in big chain hotels and my stay here was an awesome change of pace. I hope to stop back in the fall. read more

My wife and I stayed a few weeks ago and I cannot give a more positive review. I wanted to have a getaway weekend and I got exactly what I was looking for. Charlie greeted us and was very friendly and accommodating. He offered us bottled water during our stay and kept asking if we needed anything while we enjoyed a bottle of wine in their spacious fireplace room. My wife and I played board games and worked on a puzzle the entire night. The room (Jennie's Room) was spacious and homey. It is exactly how a B&B room should be including a private bath. Megan made a delicious homemade breakfast in the morning. I understand some B&Bs offer breakfast however this included a full sit down breakfast that included homemade cranberry muffins. If you are thinking about staying in the area, please do not overlook The Wilmington Inn because you will wish you stayed there! read more

We had a great 2 night stay! From the charming entrance to the warm seats by the always-going fire, to enjoying breakfast and games in the living room! We stayed in 2 guest rooms for the 3 of us, as the non-suite rooms are not large enough for a rollaway bed. Easy to get to Mount Snow to ski. Wilmington is charming to spend a few hours shopping. Definitely PLAN AHEAD for dinner during the holiday season -- most places were 1-2 hours wait for dinner, and that included takeout. Would stay again! read more

We just purchased land in Wilmington and had to be in the area to meet with contractors. We stayed at the Inn and quickly decided to make it our base of operations for the build of our house. It feels like home. Great conversation, great breakfast and comfortable rooms. This is one of my favorite inns. Not pretentious- the kind of place you can kick back and relax but with nice little touches like homemade cookies and coffee always available. Had a couple of delicious cocktails too. We stayed here for two nights in mid-October. It is a beautiful inn and the room was huge! The bed was so comfortable and there was a whirlpool tub. The innkeepers are so nice and clearly invested in the community. The food (breakfast for inn guests and dinner for everyone) was AMAZING. It's all farm-fresh and local, and the prices were reasonable for the quality of the food! Everyone on staff is friendly and the live music on Friday night was great! I would definitely recommend this inn and tavern to anyone. The only downside was the fact that the town is definitely still suffering from the hurricane. Most of the stores and restaurants were closed, but there were a few good places to eat still, and there are other towns that weren't as hard hit as Wilmington within a thirty minute drive or so. read more

For some reason Yelp changed the town to Searsburg, but it's really in Wilmington. Until the summer of 2010 it was called the Red Shutter Inn. I've never given a restaurant 5 stars before, but this place earned it. Their food was local and delicious. The service was friendly and attentive. The wine list was good. Definitely the best place in the area. I had the barbecue pork ribs--excellent --so juicy and tender it fell off the bone. My wife had the filet--also tender and cooked correctly. Our friend had the chicken, which he declared was the best he'd ever eaten. Their kale soup and fried spinach were unusual, but had the perfect mix of textures and flavors. With wine, appetizer, entree, and dessert the check averaged $55 per person + tip. read more

Great attention to detail from our cheese tray having the local cheese and farm information inclused to a night fire with Smores. The deck with a live edge and using maple buckets for lightung on the drive way into it. The hosts made you feel at home. Do not have attempt to have dinner here on a holiday unless you want to spend hours. We made the mistake of giving them another chance and it was a disaster. We waited forever for each (tiny) course. I don't mind a leisurely fine dining experience but not four hours. We rarely saw the waitress and as usual when we did she always looked flustered. We should have been comped for our wine at the very least.--especially since we drank a lot more that we would have if the food had come at a normal pace. And nobody ever said they were SORRY. We had dinner here recently. Let's get one thing out of the way first. The food was to die for. I can't remember enjoying a meal so much. Everyone loved their food. I can't give this place five stars though because the service was terrible. Our waitress was borderline rude, abandoned us for large periods of time, forgot to bring my beverage that I ordered twice (finally my husband got it himself at the bar), forgot to give us our bread until our starter course was over, forgot to bring a glass of wine that was ordered, etc. That said, we will back because the food was just amazing. read more

I'm having a hard time believing the positive restaurant reviews for this place, given that after our terrible experience, we learned from many folks in the community that this place has a bad reputation for painfully slow service and a difficult manager/owner. Our own experience was pretty jaw dropping: -Were not sat until 30 minutes after our reservation even though we were told when we made the last minute reservation that they had full availability because a party of 13 canceled -We waited 30 minutes for our first course, and another 30 after it before we started asking questions about the wait - when we requested extra bread to stave off our hunger, we were told no. -When we suggested that we would appreciate a round of drinks on the house to make up for the substantial wait - and no information on how long our food would take to come out - we were told our only option would be to order a full bottle of wine at a 50% discount -When we further expressed our frustration over the slow and inconsiderate service, the staff attempted to debate the length of our wait (apparently a 25 minute wait for a second course is more acceptable than a 30 minute wait?) -When we finally gave up and canceled our order, the manager, who we had never seen until that point, flew out at us spewing profanities and yelling at us that we were the second table to leave over lack of service that night - all in front of other guests. We will never return. It is a shame as the description of the restaurant had us very excited for a meal that we will now only remember as an experience that nearly ruined a lovely vacation. read more

Stayed at the hotel this weekend using a buywithme coupon. We had an excellent stay! We stayed in the Deerfield room which had a wonderful whirlpool tub, a very comfortable bed, and lots of natural light. The breakfast each morning was superb. You could definitely tell that there were high quality ingredients used, many of which are sourced locally. I would definitely suggest the frittata - complete in a cast-iron skillet. I also had the french toast, which was excellent but I liked the frittata better. We had a dinner included, which was quite the treat. They had a wonderful mussels appetizer in a tomato cream sauce that was to die for. The chips w/blue cheese and rosemary were also a highlight. Prices were quite fair considering the quality of the ingredients and portion size. The wait staff was quite attentive and knowledgeable. I will definitely return, particularly to add to the dinner rotation during ski season. The inn is located near the center of Wilmington in walking distance. Unfortunately, many businesses are still closed at this time, but this is a wonderful example of a business in Wilmington that should not be overlooked. read more

The owners, Charlie and Megan, offer above-and-beyond hospitality! My husband and I stayed here the night before a nearby Tough Mudder obstacle course race. We showed up late on Friday night, and Charlie texted my cell phone to make sure we weren't lost in the dark and rain. He also stayed at the front desk to greet us and show us our room. We stayed in Betty's Room, which was small and cozy with fast wi-fi and high-pile carpet. The bed was plush and very comfortable. Megan provided a special 6 am Tough Mudder breakfast with our stay, which included the exact items that I had suggested earlier when Charlie had asked what we would like as appropriate for the Tough Mudder: peanut butter and bagels, fruit, hard-boiled eggs. And much more, gourmet style! Thanks to Charlie and Megan, we were rested up, fueled up, and pumped up for the event! TLDR: The owners are awesome, and the Wilmington Inn is beautiful and cozy; 10/10 would do again. read more

Robin greeted us with a smile and exuberance, and we knew immediately that she meant every bit of it. That same excitement carried all the way to Sunday.
