We paid $171.71 for a service tech to come out and measure a spot for a new sliding door. One month later we have had no communication regarding the quote- no e-mail, phone call etc. Crickets as they say. I called the company and they still don't have a quote for us and wasn't sure when we would get that. Now this was just to get the price and specifications for the purchase of a sliding glass door. I'm not sure I even want to know what we would have gone through to get the actual door from these guys. Anyhow, we will obviously go elsewhere. read more

Called the Window and Door Shoppe looking for an Anderson window and door representative to address issues I've had with my French doors not being able to close or lock properly. Safety was my primary concern. The house was rebuilt almost 20 years ago and the foundation had settled albeit minor but enough to affect the functionality of the doors. I've had several contractors look and adjust them but they never would completely shut so that I could lock them. I called LeAnne at Window and Door and she had Lionel come out the same day. He quickly assessed that a part (actuator) needed to be changed in my deadbolt but more importantly adjusted them so you can one finger shut and lock the door securely. While he was here he also looked at and Anderson slider that never would seal when shut costing a lot of money in winter and summer heating and cooling bills. With a quick adjustment it sealed and closed with ease. I only wish I had knew of them as a resource sooner . Thank you! read more

I had a broken window pane in a double hung window in my living room that was at least 30 years old. It was Eagle brand (the company was purchased years ago by Anderson). The first window place I went to seemed knowledgeable and told me that the entire window would need to be replaced because "the sashes on old windows are likely to break upon removal". - this turned out to be an expensive up-sell attempt. I am so glad that I also contacted the Window and Door Shoppe. They were incredibly knowledgeable and helpful and instructed me over the phone about the proper measurements to take and pictures to send them to replace just the sash. They also ordered and sent me color samples of a variety of inside trim and outside trim to be sure we ordered the correct colors to match my home. Once the new sash arrived, they scheduled a time, showed up promplty and installed it quickly and efficiently and without incident. The price was 1/4 of what the first place wanted to charge me for the whole window replacement. High recommend! read more

We bought a home in which previous owners had installed Andersen windows. Love the windows, but when a handle that opened a casement window was beginning to fail due to stripped gears, had GREAT difficulty finding a company that would actually service the window even if they had not installed it. The Window and Door Shoppe was the ONLY business I found in the greater Seattle area that would do so! Lionel came, bringing parts he thought might work, just in case. Fifteen minutes later we had a new handle installed with minimum damage to the existing woodwork (just needs some touch up paint to cover new nail holes). Super helpful, patient, available - and they're good about providing updates on when things will get here which is helpful because everything is delayed during Covid. Bryan has been super helpful in making sure my sizing and handing is correct and even went out of his way to gather pictures of floor samples. I've used these guys 4 times for door and window projects. In the past, I've found them to be very easy to work with, especially if you hate high pitch window salesmen (They just quote the window price and an installation price - separate...). It got to the point that I didn't even bother getting other quotes because they always delivered as promised at a reasonable price. Anyway, fourth time they blew it and I'll never use or recomend them again. When the installer finished the job, he asked me if I'd come take a look. Right away I notice that he didn't put expanding foam around one of the window. I asked him why and he said, "I ran out." After that, I noticed he didn't countersink the screws on the window that didn't open... I asked about that and he gave me the run around until he finally came clean and let me know that he didn't have the right kind of bit... (I lent him one of mine). When the owner called to collect the balance, I told him that I'd either need $30 dollars off my bill or I'd need them to come back out and finsih the job before I paid them off. He went off the handle, telling me that the installer was just throwing in the foam for free and that it wasn't in the contract. Then he threatened me with collections and I said good luck! (I wasn't too concerned since I never signed a contract, so if they were going to be jerks, I'd welcome their attempt to get money from me in collections...) The next day I inspected the job more closely and found they improperlly caulked the window that wasn't foamed (I could see light around the side)... it looked like the installer didn't have enought caulk either and just tried to make it work. Later that same day, the owner called and kind of appologized for the phone call. I told him about the other issue and he said they'd make it right. In the end, they finished the job like they said they would. If I had not inspected the job so closely, I probably would have problems down the line. I'll find a new window shop next time. I wouldn't reccomend them. read more

Very professional and responsive. We had a 30 year-old Anderson door with a broken hinge. Lionel came out looked at our door, did some research and managed to find a new Anderson hinge (30 years old) that had been waiting around to be used-- it was the exact hinge we needed! I have had a major remodel and addition of my house done and acted like my own general contractor, working with at least 10 different individual contractors for the house. Jason and the owner were the most supportive, informative, helping guys I have ever worked with. They beat the competitor's price but more importantly were very patient and always available when I call them or email them. They would always respond. When we misplaced a screen, they delivered the expensive high-transparency replacement screen for free. They were the only ones who would do measurement before and after delivery. The driver even helped me put the windows in the right places. For my entrance I needed special glass and for a french door I needed special height - all was handled by them over several emails, photos and analysis over several days. And we found what we wanted. Again, they always beat competitor's prices. I would never shop for windows or doors with anyone else. I strongly recommend them for your projects! Just ask for Jason, but everyone in the store is very helpful. read more

I spent three years calling and failing to get a company in Seattle (and beyond) to repair a huge Anderson sliding glass door. I called seven different places, some would show or some would not. All would make promises, but no one really took the time to figure out the real problem. The staff at the Window and Door Shoppe took total, honest care of me. This review is a bit late but needs to be said...Josh is terrific! My son had someone break into his Anderson storm door and could not even open it or take the door off. I called several businesses in the area and could not get anyone to look at it. I called this shop on my 5th try and they forwarded me to Josh. He came out, ordered the parts and when the parts arrived he came out and made the door like new. Because of special communication issues with my son he was willing to call me and work through them. I had the door leading from my bedroom to my condo balcony replaced with a fiberglass French door purchased and installed from The Window and Door Shoppe. When I asked about their installation services, I was told they would be booked up for a while as it was the end of Summer. I wasn't in a hurry so I got a number of estimates (including Home Depot) and based on that, decided to go with W&D. I had to schedule the installation a month down the road but they were prompt, the installer (Josh I believe) did a great job and the price was reasonable. Would use them again. read more

We knew what we wanted right when we walked in. We wanted to get the project started but once we placed payment we were stuck waiting. It took us doing the follow up and p[hone calling to find out what the delivery timeframes would be. Then we were told we needed to bring the lock to them, that they needed t send the lock set to the door company. No problem, I wished I would have known that sooner but again the communication was poor. Our frustration grew when the door was delayed but still no communication. We were always following up only to find next week was the answer. The installers were great. They installed with great care and I felt comfortable having them in my home. The real trouble came when we inquired with our salesman about the storm doors opening angle. It was much smaller than our previous storm door. Mark Goss, our salesman could care less about what I was saying. Telling us too bad you'll just have to deal with it or take the door off because the door cant be adjusted. I'm sorry that is not an acceptable answer, especially on the day that the install had just happened. Their installer had left their power drill at our home so we had informed Mark of this too. When the installer came out later that evening, he was able to show us the proper way to widen the door opening. Again, great installer. I wont be recommending them because of Mark's lack of communication and poor customer service. read more
