Genuinely the worst car service ever. Dropped my car off at 8:30 am and they told me it would take while, didn't hear from them all day so called at 4:45 pm and they asked: did you even drop off your key this morning?..... then they proceeded to find my key on the front desk where i dropped it off at 8:30 am. got my car at 5pm after a sloppy job on my windshield and the entire interior of my drivers seat is covered in black oil and scuffing everywhere on my car seats. don't come here, save your time and money. read more

While on vacation in Colorado, we picked up a rock chip crack that grew as we returned to Kansas. Looking online, I checked out windshield replacement at one of the national franchises. For a second estimate, I contacted The Windshield Shop. Their price was half of the national franchise's price, and they were able to schedule me the morning of the first day back from our trip. i got a chip repaired and was told it would not crack. 2 days later my windshield is completely cracked. now i'm out $50 and a windshield

I took my Sentra here to replace my windshield after it had been cracked by a rock. I paid cash for the repair. I had scheduled and appointment a week ahead of time but waited all day for the repair to be complete. Then about a year later, I find out an insurance claim had been filed on my car and it raised my rates. I had to get it removed off my record by Lexis Nexis. Not a good experience at all and screwed me over in the long run. read more

Well, my brother used to run one of them so i expected better. i got quoted 289.00 for a windshield install on an 80's chevy truck, this included a new windshield , gasket, and lock strip. i could have done this job myself complete in my driveway in 15 minutes, i just didnt want to order the stuff online and wait for it. well dropped off the truck at 11 am, wasnt done til almost 5 pm. paid bill and walked out to truck got in and noticed that the windshield gasket that i was charged for did not get replaced! still had the same old ugly 30 year old gasket in it, with a bright shiny new lock strip! so back in i went and asked them about it, was told oh we reused your old gasket.... (i didnt want that)... there is nothing wrong with it (ugly, dirty , dried out ,and checkered) . " we just didnt look at the ticket i guess".... well they charged me almost 100.00 just for the gasket, i got the money back but the lady behind the counter acted pissed off either that she had to give my money back or that i caught the mistake or both.... anyways upon further inspection after that i noticed 1 verticle 6 inch long scratch in the winshield and one horizontal 4 inch scratch. will not be going back and next time i will do the job myself ! I feel like they were trying to take me for 100.00 and that i wouldnt notice! moral of the story folks when a service ticket says something was installed, make sure it was!!! 100 bucks is not loose change! If that gasket leaks im gonna be triple red mad !!!! read more

Rec'd to me by another auto business that I trust. They replaced the windshield on my husband's truck at a rate much lower than Safelite. I like Safelite. I've used them before and it gives me peace of mind using a national company. However, I'm happy to say that my entire experience at The Windshield Shop met all my expectations. The gentleman I spoke to took care of things from my car insurance's side. All I did after checking in was work on my computer (they had fast WIFI) for an hour, and then they were done. I called The Windshield Shop to see if I could come in on Friday and they said "they were too busy and to make an appointment for Monday". Which I did. I told them what I thought the issue was with the window and that I would be coming from West Wichita. They never told me they had a shop on the West side of town (which is right down the street from my home) so I drove to their East Wichita location. When I arrived, the receptionist never acknowledged me so I stood at her desk until she was finished with whatever she was working on. At that point she did try and help me but another employee came in, interrupted our conversation and asked me what the problem was. As I tried to explain to him what I thought the problem was, he asked for my keys and started walking out the door. I followed him so I could continue with my explanation and to let him know that I had taken off all of the panels etc. and to tell him where the leak was coming from. As he got into my car and started to drive away, he said, "your car has been in a wreck". That may be but not since I have owned the car for the last eight years (and not according to carfax). Also, the leak just started. He brought the car back and said that, "I needed to take the car to a body shop". I was charged $53.75 for that? I checked in at 10AM and was given my credit card receipt at 10:06. Really, six minutes? And he told me the diagnosis before he ever got in my car. I will never go back. Took my car for a windshield, I brought them new seals for top and bottom.This is a old car, I wanted while they had windshield out to replace the old rubber seals with new ones. I went to pick the car up and found that they did not put them in.I looked through the windshield at the bottom where it meets the end of the dash I could see the the rough cut edge of the dash, it looked terrible. I ask them if they put the seals in, he said no. He said the old one was not on it at the bottom, I bet its was stuck to the bottom of the old windshield,the old windshield didn't have the gap. So we looked at it he thought it was because the black band at the bottom of the windshield was to short and was suppost to cover it up. The black band could have been to short but if that seal was in their it would cover it up. The dash had a groove in it for the seal to slip over the end of it, an that's what hold the dash down on the front side. So now the dash sticks up at the front and you can see the gap at the front looking from the out side. The installer kenny didn't know how or where to put the seals from the start. He wanted to replace the windshield with a oem that cost over 400.00 more but I can't afford to do that. So I will wedge the seal in myself, it will go in place and cover up the gap. If he would installed the seal in the first place there wouldn't have been a problem. He said the seal was to short but he was wrong, It only went in front of the dash, where the gap was, not all the way across th bottom of the windshield in front of the a-piller covers on the inside. So he installed the windshield and didn't even tell me about the gap. He should researched what he didn't know how to do. Shure they can put on the big show about how nice they want to look but all they cared about was getting the car done and out the door. He doesn't have the desire to do the job right. read more

I've been to the Windshield Shop a handful of times over the past 5 or so years and have also had a good experience. They've always had good customer service and worked with my schedule to get me in ASAP. The quality of the windshields I've had replaced has also been excellent and they have a super Nintendo sitting in their waiting room. I am going to play that one of these days.
