Great food and service. Will definitely go back again. Even though it's tucked away in the food court the ambiance is stellar.

There is something faintly surreal about eating a perfectly respectable Italian meal while the world rushes past you carrying trays of noodles and hamburgers and cheesesteaks. This is the central joke of the The Wine Bar and Italian Kitchen, which sits like a well dressed guest who has wandered into the wrong party and decided to stay anyway. It lives inside The Food Hall at The Borgata, elevated just enough to suggest importance, but not quite enough to escape the gravitational pull of the surrounding chaos. The ambiance is odd. Not necessarily bad mind you, just...existential. You sip wine while someone nearby debates chicken tenders. It keeps you humble. And yet, the food. The food is very good. Complimentary bread arrived with olive oils and olives, which felt like a small act of kindness in a noisy universe. My wife and I began with a meatball appetizer special, a wise decision that rewarded us immediately. Six petite, tender and rich meatballs, the kind that makes you briefly forgive the invention of fast casual dining. I had the lasagna, layered and comforting, like a well organized memory. She had the chicken parmigiana, which achieved that rare balance of crisp and tender, as if someone in the kitchen still actually cared about cause and effect. Both dishes were executed with confidence, the kind that suggests this kitchen knows exactly what it is doing, even if the room around it is having an identity crisis. The wine was not bad. Not transcendent, not life altering, but entirely capable of doing its job, which is to make you slightly more agreeable to everything. Service was also very good. Attentive without hovering, present without becoming a character in the story. Four stars, because the food and service deserve applause, but the setting feels like dining inside a thought that has not quite been finished. Still, if you find yourself at The Borgata and hungry for an Italian meal that rises above its surroundings, this is a very good place to sit, eat, and wonder how you got there. read more

Eh...This is definitely not an "Italian Kitchen". The menu had Souvaki and there were French fries and onion rings in the calamari. They also forgot to give us our wine order until the very end of the meal. Wtf. read more

It's located in the corner of the food court of the Borgata hotel. The area had table seating and a bar area. I would recommend reservations even though we didn't have one. But it can get crowded. They offered bread with olive oil and olives. We ordered a sangria which was very sweet. They filled our water glasses but didn't check on it for the rest of the night. We ordered lamb chop and ossobuco. The lamb chop was seared perfectly and medium rare. The potatoes were well seasoned and crispy. I liked the broccoli rabe too. The ossobuco was tender and the bone marrow was buttery. The risotto was ok but I didn't like the texture. The sangria was sweet. Overall the food was good. read more

This place is a literal hidden gem since it's a sit-down restaurant/bar located within the downstairs food hall. We found it on Yelp (Thanks!) or we wouldn't have known it was there. It's in the food hall but separate from it so you have normal restaurant/bar service not fast-casual. We just got into town and were hungry but didn't want a big heavy dinner so this place was perfect. The toasted bread with olives and seasoned olive oil was the perfect start to an Italian meal. The marinated mushrooms were a large portion of perfectly season mushrooms and were filling. This was my first time having Eggplant Caponata but it sure won't be my last. It's eggplant in tomato sauce with peppers and other veggies served on toasted Italian bread. It's filling without being too heavily and went perfectly with the wine flight (two red and one white Italian wines). The dessert menu looked interesting but we were too full to try anything. Service was very fast and friendly here and I'll be back here again next time I'm back at the Borgata. read more

We were happy to hear that the Wine Bar will remain open at the Borgata! The waitstaff is friendly and attentive and the decor is clean and inviting, and somehow cozy even though it occupies an area of the Food Hall. All of their dishes come out of the kitchen steaming hot and are served with a smile. They make an incredibly good flounder and shrimp francese. My husband loves the salmon and the marketplace rigatoni. We both appreciate that you can wear casual attire and just relax over a good meal. For the prices it offers a great value. read more

My husband and I went here for date night. We got calamari, bruschetta, and we built a charcuterie board. The food was 10/10. Our favorite was the Burrata ball that was in our board. They had a couple of huge parties come in without reservations and they handled it wonderfully. Leah the manager took care of us mostly and she was so amazing, personable and knowledgeable. She was assisting her waiters and tending to the bar customers. Eventually we did meet Jesus who was supposed to be our waiter, he was so nice and provided quick and efficient service at the end. Yes it's located in a food court in the hidden food court downstairs in the Borgata but what a good find! Most of the seating is high top tables that overlook the food court. I give it five stars because the service was great and the meatballs, wine tasting and affogato were all so good. The wine tasting consisted of 4 wines. Two white and two red. The meatballs were served with a toasted piece of bread with a smear of very smooth ricotta, Dessert- we shared an affogato that was served with haagen daz ice cream that was in the food court as well. Great spot for a casual meal that is away from the restaurants in the hotel. Highly recommended - lots of other options in the food court as well. read more

This is the best unknown spot if you're visiting Borgata. I make it a point to visit at least once whenever I'm staying at the hotel, and I would come more regularly if I were a local. Jesus is an attentive server with excellent wine and food recommendations. Russell prepares outstanding fresh food and undoubtedly the best charcuterie tray in town. You can watch them slice the meat and prepare the cheese. Every dish has been excellent, and I've tried the lasagna, rigatoni versions, bruschetta, and a few other items besides charcuterie. If you like sesame seeds, you'll be hooked on their toasted bread, and the olive oil is top-notch quality. Please take a well-deserved break from the casino floor and ride the escalator to the food hall. They have linen tablecloths and fabulous stemware. The food was great and the servers were attentive. We had a large group and they got everything right. Would definitely go here again.

Then place went downhill from out last visit a couple years ago (which we loved). There was a total of 3 groups people there eating (including us) yet our waitress was nowhere to be found after she took our order. We had to beckon a gentlemen from behind the counter to ask a question about our food. As we're eating a woman in street clothes comes out of the back with a couple bowls of food. She sets them up on a table and strategically is taking picture of the food with her phone. It was very odd and distracting! The calamari was so greasy. The marinated mushrooms were just ok and didn't taste fresh. My husbands Caesar salad was just ok. My wedge salad was as horrible! The dressing was gross and not go with the salad whatsoever. The surprise dessert was very thoughtful (new job promotion for me) however it wasn't good at all. We both picked a couple bites of it since we didn't want to be rude. A rather underwhelming experience and unfortunately after this experience we will find another restaurant in Borgata. read more

Would love to keep this very special place all to myself at the Borgata but it is just such an outstanding restaurant I just have to give praise all around! First Leah (manager) is great always goes out of her way to say hello & make sure all is good. We met her in the beginning when the restaurant first opened she's always so welcoming. Next Jesus and Claudia servers are AMAZING ! Every time we go they are so professional, polished and perfect making sure your dinner & drinks are on point, they even remember you and what you like. Love them ! The Food .... OMG one word amazing ! The best meatballs ever, the pasta , seafood everything is great. The chef is a keeper for sure such a talent. Please try the restaurant but make a reservation this place is getting very popular. Fantastic hole in the underground wall! Anyone who loves wine and good food needs to take a moment and visit this place, located below the casino, the food and wine is amazing! We visited twice this trip and both times our service was great, everyone is so friendly. Big disappointment! Our favorite restaurant in the Borgata had gone downhill. Apparently since a chef change. Alway good food at reasonable prices. No longer. The food was not good. The same entrees we had several times before were not good at all. Not prepared right, bad ingredients. Even the butter didn't taste right. The wait staff, as usual, was friendly and accomodating. And I feel bad complaining because they were very nice, even taking one of our entrees off the check. We will not return until we hear that things have gotten better. read more

What a hidden surprise! Located in a sectioned-off area in Borgata's food court, this restaurant is an upscale European-cafe style gem! Everything is freshly made to order and it shows. Service was fast and very attentive. Their cheese pairings are delicious and worth every penny. Their pasta was some of the best I've ever had. Great desserts, too! I had the caprese salad and the chicken parm. Both were excellent. Enjoyed a very nice glass of chianti with my meal. All for what I considered to be a reasonable price. Gets a bit noisy as the dining area is open to the rest of the food court. There's an iron chef upstairs who could take a lesson from the food in this place. read more

Great find in the Market Place food court. It's a full service restaurant with italian classics. Large portions, prices are reasonable. Salads are definitely large enough to split. Service was friendly and attentive. The only con is that the atmosphere is that of the food court, but if you are looking for a solid casual dinner, it's a great choice. read more
