Came just to have the short rib french onion soup and it was definitely interesting! We sat at the bar since we were just having the soup and the bartenders were so nice. Love the decor in the place too - would definitely come to try their full dinner menu. I've never seen cheese around the entire bowl of soup so they are definitely generous with it! The short rib was unfortunately dry and putting it on top of the soup actually weighs it down to the point where more than half our soup spilled out of the bowl onto the plate under it. Here's the Scoop! After returning from a show we stopped inside Ocean to have a meal here. We ordered the bbq ribs with street corn and honey cheese biscuits. My my so finger lickin' good. The ribs fell off of the bone and the biscuits were light and fluffy drizzled with honey. The street corn tasty with cheese and seasoned. A great combination. We enjoyed this meal and had leftovers. Villian and Saint is a sit down restaurant inside Ocean Casino. I think this place is very hit or miss. Some items we had were delicious and some were very mediocre. The garlic and cheddar biscuits were phenomenal - crumbly and buttery or just a hint of spicy from chili honey. They reminded me of upscale cheddar biscuits from red lobster. The crabcake sandwich with fries was also very good! We got the fish tacos to split and it was over sauced with really small pieces of fish- not great. It was a little pricey, so not my first choice to eat, but wasn't awful either- just ok. read more

While staying at Ocean Resort, we had stopped by Villain & Saint for a drink and some apps. We had made a reservation in advance and was seated quickly. Once we got the menus we picked some appetizers and I really wanted to try the French onion soup. We had also ordered some chicken wings and calamari. Our drink of course was an espresso martini. The French onion soup was amazing and was topped with brisket. I loved it. The other food was okay and the espresso martini was tasty. Overall a good spot for drinks and a dinner. read more

Another five star meal...and during restaurant week! Villian and Saint typically does not disappoint. This time however, the planned dessert options on the restaurant week menu were not available! We were so sad as we were looking forward to ordering one of each and sharing. But that did not last long! The replacement options were so good! There was a caramel cheesecake with vanilla bean ice cream and a double chocolate mousse. As usual, the appetizer and meal were delicious. I've come here a few times and I'm not sure why I keep coming back. Very medicore menu and service last night. I started off with a cosmopolitan drink which I literally had to send back. It was disgusting and sweet and I couldn't even drink it. We had the biscuits for the table as well as the chips and dip and sliders. The biscuits were incredible. The chips and dip were really good but the burgers were terrible. They were like hockey pucks for $7 each. They were supposed to come with sauce and ours came out plain. I would definitely skip this appetizer. For our meals, my one friend got a steak, my other got the steak sandwich and my other friend and I split the chicken pillared. Everything was just OK. Our waiter wasn't very attentive and we had to keep flagging him down. We attempted to end off our meals with espresso martinis but our waiter told us it would be a 20 minute wait because they have to go to a different restaurant to get the espresso? Very bizarre considering that's a popular drink which they have on their menu. There are definitely better options in Oceans resorts for a meal, I'd go elsewhere. read more

Every restaurant I go to I walk in with an open mind. Villain and Saint was no different. The restaurant was decorated beautifully and the vibe was perfect. I also appreciated the open kitchen. The drinks we got were also good. That is where the positives end however. I ordered a burger which was bland. The tastiest bite of the burger was when I got a piece of one of the pickles. My fiancee ordered fish tacos which were bland. Another person in our group ordered the steak sandwich which was, you guessed it, bland. Not only was it bland, but it was also tough to chew. It was very unpleasant dining outside since we could spell the cigarette smoke coming from the casino. The fried calamari was very salty and dry and burgers were also very dry. This place is terrible. Kick myself for going back, but thought I would order something other than the burgers cause I know they suck. Started with the Caprese Salad which was okay. But when it came to the main entree, it was so bad I thought about sending it back. The Angry Lobster had a very strange taste. Shouldn't have eaten it as I ended up sick to my stomach all night. The Warm Cherry Crumble was served ice cold. Got attitude from waitress when pointed it out. As far as the service was concerned it was greatly lacking. And to top off a terrible experience, halfway through our meal a band came on that was so loud we couldn't even talk to each other at the table. Strongly recommend anyone considering this place to avoid. Find something else, unless you're looking to overspend on poor service, lousy food and horribly loud music. read more

We ordered mozzarella sticks and a caesar salad along with fish tacos . All of this food was terrible . The mozzarella sticks appear to have been fried twice as they were a deep dark brown and the mozzarella was terrible tasting . The Caesar salad had chunks of Parmesan cheese instead of slivers and they definitely came out of a bag of pre sliced cheese . Croutons were terrible tasting too . The fish tacos were acceptable until I ate the last one which had a bad piece of fish in it . Beer menu was limited. A terrible meal . Consider getting in your car and taking a trip to one of the other restaurants in town. We both experienced food poisoning from this meal with stomach cramps and nausea into the next day . It's a pub-style place so my expectations were pretty low to begin with. The one thing I do recommend highly is their cheddar buttermilk biscuits - really fantastic. And that is where it ends. We were four people. Two ordered the Wagyu burgers which, honestly, tasted no different than any other burger. Ample french fries for sure. Another ordered the biscuits and beef kabobs (both on the appetizer menu) as the main course. The kabobs were, how shall I say it, beyond disappointing. There were three of them, served over a small smoker. Each kabob was about 1.5 inches long and the beef was primarily fat. We should have known when we ordered it that it wouldn't be good because the server looked at us like we were nuts when it was requested medium rare - they don't cook it to order. It's cooked to shoe leather and then put on the teeny tiny smoker to give it that smoky flavor (which couldn't hide the awful cut of beef). Each kabob was a single bite. $16 for the three. We didn't eat two of them. Don't recommend it at all. read more

Highly disappointed with my visit today. I honestly feel this restaurant has fallen from the grace. I was sat at a dirty table with food all underneath it got into my shoes and it was disgusting. I requested another table for the inconvenience. We ordered two Cokes and they were flat and the machine was off with gas and sugar content. We had to send them back. They gave us Coke from a bottle this time. We ordered the famous biscuits and yet they were cold and dry with a heap of cold butter. Not the buttery hot sweet biscuits I'm use to while dining with you. The calamari was old and fishy with a lingering after taste that stayed in your mouth. We requested our entries but we don't eat asparagus so requested a different side but unfortunately they don't do substitutions and so i had to stay with something I don't eat. So i changed the baby back ribs entree to the sweet chili ribs and a side of fries instead of getting asparagus. The meat did fall off the bone but the sauce is splashed at the last minute so there is no flavoring to the meat so it has a gamy after taste. The crab cake entree I was given was put on a huge plate with a splash of tartar sauce spread on with is two huge crab cakes with 3 pieces of asparagus for $46. There wasn't a bed arugula or even a side salad nothing to elevate the dish and I'm sorry asparagus and crab cakes aren't a good mix especially when i don't eat asparagus. It's very disheartening to spend money on food you didn't care for at all at the end of the night had to go to Zhen for late night din din. Nobody wants to go to bed hungry. Drinks arrive, then appetizers arrived, while we were just start eating our appetizers, not even 10 mins, all our main course is out. I was looking for a place for dinner, and I decided to eat here. I'm glad I did, as the service and food were excellent. The food is "American gastropub." A little of this, a little of that. The space is loud, and they do have music at times, so it maybe not be the best for a quiet romantic meal. I decided to go with 2 small plates/appetizers. The first thing I ordered was the crispy fried brussels sprouts. They came with pear, goat cheese, crushed peanuts, and what they call a "spicy fish sauce caramel." They were amazing! I normally *hate* brussels sprouts, unless they are properly "zhuzhed up." These guys got it right. The sprouts were soft with a good char, I liked the tang of the goat cheese, and the sweetness of the pear and the crunch of the peanuts were also a good addition to the meal. The sauce only had a tiny bit of spice, but it also was savory and delicious!! The only thing I could possibly knock, is that I wish there was a little bit more of that awesome goat cheese. The second thing I had was "The Kraken." seared octopus with crispy plantain, and a saffron aioli. Again, a home run. If you don't "do" octopus right, it's like chewing on an eraser. They definitely got it right. The octopus was very tender, and the sear gave it a good flavor. I loved the aioli, and the plantain strings almost reminded me of shoestring potatoes. Stopped in here for a drink and quick bite. The place is beautiful. Very modern with an authentic feel that I wasn't expecting. Food tasted great. Presentation was very good as well. Cocktails were also good. I recommend trying one of the signature ones as they offer a lot of variety and were not all ones I've seen before. Staff was mixed. Bartenders were not the most pleasant or friendly. Almost rude actually. Rest of the staff were all very pleasant and helpful. But in a bar, the bartenders really set the tone and we didn't feel like they wanted us there. I don't take it personal. We saw the same attitude towards the other customers at the bar. Returned because my son really wanted to do trivia night. This time it was just 3 in my party. For starters, it was the same hostess, but she was much more pleasant than the last time. She was incredibly accommodating when we asked to be closer to the host for trivia. Trivia night was something fun and different. The food, we got their award winning wings for appetizers. We waited about 15 minutes before someone said since we had been waiting we'd be seated. (Huh, not because I'm waiting but because I've been on the wait list). The mussels did not taste well to me at all. I think I may have eaten 4/5 but kept eating grit/dirt so I was done with them. They didn't have any flavor or taste to them. A very nice-looking pub type restaurant right in the Ocean Casion. The menu is small but has plenty of options. The beer assortment is amazing. However the food was just average. The Caesar salads were warm and without taste. The chicken breast had a drumstick and only 3 asparagus but had a tasty sauce. The shrimp cocktail had only 1 very large shrimp. The waiter was very nice but seemed overwhelmed. The dessert menu has only 3 things on it. The salmon was okay. Overall the portion size was small but I guess enough. First time trying this restaurant. It is a great place to watch a game at the bar or the tables. The bar and tables were together in the same room. Also saw a small stage with a drum set. It looked like they have live music at tines. There was a football game on the tvs and the crowd was a little louder than usual. All the food ordered was very good. The crab and corn chowder came out very hot and had a nice flavor. It was a lot and could have been a small meal in itself. Our table also had the fish and chips. The fish was cooked perfectly, and the breading on the outside was excellent. While walking through the room to our table, it seemed like everyone had wings, so that made me want to try them. They were good, and I liked the sauce but just the typical wings. A little garnish of veggies or dip on the side would have been nice. The sauce on the gnocchi was good, but the gnocchi themselves were bland and a little tough and didn't seem cooked through. The sauce gave them the flavor they needed.
