    The steak sandwich
    Alan J.

Came to the Ocean casino for a show. Stopped in here for a dinner pre show. Ordered THE steak sandwich. So, so good. The Aioli made the sandwich. French fries were perfect. Only thing which would have improved them would be a little old bay. Drink was superb as well. Welcoming and quick service.

While staying at Ocean Resort, we had stopped by Villain & Saint for a drink and some apps. We had made a reservation in advance and was seated quickly. Once we got the menus we picked some appetizers and I really wanted to try the French onion soup. We had also ordered some chicken wings and calamari. Our drink of course was an espresso martini. The French onion soup was amazing and was topped with brisket. I loved it. The other food was okay and the espresso martini was tasty. Overall a good spot for drinks and a dinner.

Another five star meal...and during restaurant week! Villian and Saint typically does not disappoint. This time however, the planned dessert options on the restaurant week menu were not available! We were so sad as we were looking forward to ordering one of each and sharing. But that did not last long! The replacement options were so good! There was a caramel cheesecake with vanilla bean ice cream and a double chocolate mousse. As usual, the appetizer and meal were delicious. We got the squash pasta as our main meal and the pasta was fresh made! Our server was well educated about the menu and was very helpful in answering our questions about the menu.

Restaurant inside Ocean casino, Atlantic City The restaurant was empty around 5pm and the unfriendly hostess gave us a table outside. It was very unpleasant dining outside since we could spell the cigarette smoke coming from the casino. The fried calamari was very salty and dry and burgers were also very dry. I ordered draft Samuel Adam's beer and the waiter without asking me if the bottle beer is ok, he just brought me one. He never asked how our food was and very unfriendly. I should have sent the food back.

This place is terrible. Kick myself for going back, but thought I would order something other than the burgers cause I know they suck. Started with the Caprese Salad which was okay. But when it came to the main entree, it was so bad I thought about sending it back. The Angry Lobster had a very strange taste. Shouldn't have eaten it as I ended up sick to my stomach all night. The Warm Cherry Crumble was served ice cold. Got attitude from waitress when pointed it out. As far as the service was concerned it was greatly lacking. And to top off a terrible experience, halfway through our meal a band came on that was so loud we couldn't even talk to each other at the table. Strongly recommend anyone considering this place to avoid. Find something else, unless you're looking to overspend on poor service, lousy food and horribly loud music.

The service was made excellent by a visit from ,Lisa , the manager. She made suggestions which I took and loved the buffalo cauliflower. The soup girl was moving nonstop amd was hypnotizing to watch make soup after soup. We'll be back!

I tried many items here. The only thing good is the oysters, but it doesn't even come with fresh cocktail sauce. Why would you ruin fresh oysters with some cheap sauce? Patties in the sliders smelled bad, so we didn't even touch it. Everything else was pretty much terrible. What a disgrace to call the wings Korean fried wings. It's dark in there for a reason. Avoid!

2.5 Overall I wasn't overly impressed. The band inside was too loud so we sat outside which was fine and gave us a chance to people watch but they forgot to tell our server we where out there. He was apologetic. I ordered the burger and my fries came out cold. My burger was cooked to order but the bun was too thick and hard. My companion enjoyed the martini abs reported the mussels were good but on the small side. Her fired however came out hot and crispy.

Highly disappointed with my visit today. I honestly feel this restaurant has fallen from the grace. I was sat at a dirty table with food all underneath it got into my shoes and it was disgusting. I requested another table for the inconvenience. We ordered two Cokes and they were flat and the machine was off with gas and sugar content. We had to send them back. They gave us Coke from a bottle this time. We ordered the famous biscuits and yet they were cold and dry with a heap of cold butter. Not the buttery hot sweet biscuits I'm use to while dining with you. The calamari was old and fishy with a lingering after taste that stayed in your mouth. We requested our entries but we don't eat asparagus so requested a different side but unfortunately they don't do substitutions and so i had to stay with something I don't eat. So i changed the baby back ribs entree to the sweet chili ribs and a side of fries instead of getting asparagus. The meat did fall off the bone but the sauce is splashed at the last minute so there is no flavoring to the meat so it has a gamy after taste. The crab cake entree I was given was put on a huge plate with a splash of tartar sauce spread on with is two huge crab cakes with 3 pieces of asparagus for $46. There wasn't a bed arugula or even a side salad nothing to elevate the dish and I'm sorry asparagus and crab cakes aren't a good mix especially when i don't eat asparagus. It's very disheartening to spend money on food you didn't care for at all at the end of the night had to go to Zhen for late night din din. Nobody wants to go to bed hungry. Isiah and Maria were so pleasant and took care of well. The menu is changing and the flavor quality has definitely diminished since past years.

Food is decent, service need lots of improvement. Got seated, waiter took sometime to arrive to take our orders. After placing an orders. Drinks arrive, then appetizers arrived, while we were just start eating our appetizers, not even 10 mins, all our main course is out. Should they at least let us finish our appetizers first, then take the plates away. No, they just put everything on the table and not even makes room, we have to make room for our main course. Food is just ok, Just don't like how they rush everything out. Didn't get to enjoy it. I don't think I will go back again.

Our waitress was super super nice but the food just wasn't very good. Almost no seasoning whatsoever. Everything was very plain Jane. Might be a good spot for a beer and to listen to the live music but I wouldn't return for dinner.

Located inside a ocean Casino, this is a trendy music related restaurant. Inside is a bit noisy, but the funky artistic decor suits the mood......specialty drinks are fantastic......Food is good too, not a large menu, Howe there are plenty of safe choices....my server was friendly and attentive, very important with the volume in the restaurant.

The bar occasionally offers live music, but my favorite time to visit is during the holidays, when they turn it into a festive Christmas spot with holiday beverages. There are fun decorations, strands of lights, Home Alone 2 playing on the televisions, and much more to really get you in the holiday spirit. I most recently tried the Pomegranate Margarita on their seasonal menu and thought it was excellent; it was not too sweet or too weak. I should note that there are rarely servers in the lounge area, so you typically need to go up to the bar to place an order, which can disrupt the flow of fun you might be having. Overall, I think the 1927 Lounge is decent on a normal day, but much better when they have a themed takeover happening.

Think 70s bar energy, cushioned bar stools, retro TVs, the whole thing. It felt like stepping into a different era in the best way possible. We started with drinks and they did not disappoint. The $7 mini martinis are a steal, we got the dirty with blue cheese olives and The Garrison 17 which is alibi gin, herb infused vanilla and rhubarb shrub, egg white and lemon. Both were made right in front of us which was a nice touch, and they were genuinely well crafted, not just cheap happy hour drinks. Food is where it really shined though. The whipped ricotta was unreal, we got both the EVOO with Maldon sea salt and the fig, hot honey and hazelnut. The EVOO one especially was one of those things you keep going back to. The first issue was simply finding the venue. Coming from the self-parking garage, there was very little signage directing guests to the Beachclub. We eventually found our way by following another group headed there, but better directions and signs would make a huge difference. The biggest problem, however, was the security screening. My friends and I carefully reviewed the venue rules beforehand and followed the bag and dress code requirements. Despite that, security went through our belongings in an extremely invasive manner. They opened wallets, flipped through personal items, and thoroughly searched small bags that were well within the approved size limits. They were looking at how much money and credit cards I had! When I questioned why they were looking through things like my wallet, noting that even airport security doesn't typically inspect belongings that way, the response I received was rude and dismissive. The entire interaction felt uncomfortable and unnecessarily intrusive. Once inside, it became clear that unless you're planning to spend hundreds of dollars on bottle service, there aren't many places where you can simply sit, relax, and enjoy the atmosphere. Shortly after we found seats, we were approached and made to feel unwelcome unless we were spending money. The overall vibe felt very pretentious and exclusive rather than welcoming. What made this even more frustrating was the inconsistency in enforcement. The venue rules clearly state that smoking is prohibited, yet multiple people were openly smoking throughout the event while numerous security staff stood nearby and did nothing. Meanwhile, security had spent so much effort scrutinizing our belongings at the entrance. It gave the impression that certain guests were being targeted while others were allowed to ignore the rules. Exiting the venue was also confusing. We attempted to leave through the same area where we entered and followed visible exit signs, only to be told to turn around and walk all the way to the opposite side of the venue. Once again, clearer signage would help avoid unnecessary confusion. To be fair, the bathrooms were clean throughout the day, and there were attendants making sure they stayed that way. The bartenders were also friendly and professional. I was only drinking water, and every time I ordered one, they were polite and helpful. Unfortunately, those positives weren't enough to outweigh the overall experience. Between the confusing layout, invasive security procedures, inconsistent rule enforcement, and constant pressure to spend money, this venue simply isn't for me. No matter which DJ is performing, I won't be returning. I'd much rather attend events at venues in Philadelphia that offer a more relaxed and welcoming atmosphere.
