So I've been slacking on my Yelp Elite events, and with this being my 10th year, I decided to get my act together! Lol, I'm going to make as many events as my schedule allows. So this was my 2nd Elite event for the year in 2 days!!! I'm on a roll, lol. Anywho, the place doesn't look like a wine cellar from the street, but don't let the outside fool you. The inside looks like a pretty little wine boutique, but it's huge. We were greeted instantly, and we bought 3 bottles at a reduced Yelp Elite rate. I also received a Yelp gift. They were also nice enough to extend the event due to the winter storm. I don't live in the area, but hopefully, when I'm near, I can stop by. Check them out, people!!! read more

Great experience. There's a great selection of wine and some spirits. The staff is super friendly. We were greeted immediately by both staff members. They were happy to explain the layout and wine selection. They also had several wine bottles open for tasting. The staff were super personable and were extremely happy to interact with their customers. We were closer to their previous location, so its a longer drive out to Joliet. The building was clean and a little chilly (perfect for the wine). They have a huge selection to choose from and have great deals! read more

What a nice time I had. First time at this store, and I was excited to have stopped in. Eric Jensen, the manager, was great company as I walked around and looked at all the varieties of wines from all over the world. What a nice selection of assorted wines! Wow! I am a fan of semi dry, dry red wine. However, the options were plentiful no matter what your pallet enjoys. Though this is a more intimate location for wine, it was just the right space to wonder a bit, get lost in all the bottles of adult sips and hope your wallet can support what your arms can carry. The only disappointment is that I didn't bring enough cash for what my eyes wanted to bring home! Lol No worries there, I will be back. The way this store felt upon entrance felt good. Cozy and straight to the point ... WINE! Oh! But they don't just sell wine, they have a section for "spirits" as well. YELP, thank you for the opportunity tonight to explore The Wine Cellar! Located in a small industrial complex,The Wine Cellar Outlet offers over 500 boutique style wines from family run vineyards all around the world. Wines are sorted by country and type. You do get a discount if you buy 6 wines. We were greeted by the owner who had wines ready to sample from sweet to dry..reds or whites and was very knowledgeable on each one. There used to be 3 locations in the Chicagoland area but this one is the only one currently opened. If you don't live in the area I probably would not drive to purchase just one bottle but if you are looking to purchase at least 6 bottles,it is worth the drive as the prices are very reasonable for great tasting wine. read more

Stopped by Wine Cellar Outlet on the edge of Joliet, right off the expressway. The store is in an industrial building but was well marked from the road. The store itself offers a variety of wines from the US and International (mostly family owned and boutique wineries). Additionally, they have local liquor bottles (whiskey, gin, vodka, etc.). Brandy helped us and I do not have nicer words to say! We chatted about the store's background, life wine experiences, and what we look for when shopping wines. She was very knowledgeable about the store's wines offered, different brands within the store, and even different events/promotions the store offers. She gave me a look at the back tasting area where they hold events every other Thursday and even gave us a small tasting from wines opened behind the counter. We ended up buying a Spanish White we tasted! It was easy to sign up for email notifications to track discounts/promotions they have going on and I grabbed a few referral flyers for family that lives locally. This little gem is a little outside of the Joliet downtown and very close to the highway. I was excited to come check out the store and it was worth it. They have a variety of wines, many with a variety of flavors and tastes I have not seen. They also carry some beer and other spirits. We were helped by one of the owners, who did a mini wine tasting for us, which actually helped us choose a wine. We purchased two wines, one called 'Rich and Spicy,' aged in bourbon barrels I'm excited to try and another selected from the wine tasting - 'Bottle of Poetry'. Excellent customer serivce and support and great wine selections. This is a good spot to try new wines and get them for a good rate. read more

Wine, spirits and more wine! What's not to love? An absolute gem for Wine lovers like me! Such a cute and fun place of wine that you don't normally get at a regular grocery store. I've spent a good hour here going thru all of their wines and talking to the lovely Corrine. She was so helpful and so wonderful and just pleasant to talk to. I ended up getting 5 bottles of wines that I am soooo excited to try. I got 3 Rich & Spicy Bourbon and Cabernet for a couple of my friends and I have been looking for a good Shiraz blend so I also got 2 bottles of Shiraz, Cabernet and Malbec. I cannot wait to try them out tonight which I already opened for them to breathe! I think I found my new favorite wine place! I cannot wait to come back for some wine tastings too! Yay! read more

Thanks to Yelp, I found this gem. I came here around 6pm, and I was greeted right away. I had the whole store to myself, and I learned that they do wine tastings. I didn't get her name, but she's very knowledgeable, friendly, and made great recommendations. I'm typically not a wine girl, but her samplings have helped me realize that there's something for me. She also brought up what her boyfriend likes who also is like me that's not a big wine fan. I took a more reserve route, where I purchased what she sampled me. The samples are a game changer, it allows me to see if it's something I can commit to. I ended up getting the Las Vides Sweet Red, the Italian Sparkling Moscato, and the Rich & Spicy Cabernet. I'm looking forward to coming back here with my partner for a formal tasting since Joliet isn't too far away. I'd recommend this place to anyone in the area looking for a specialty wine store. read more

The prices are very reasonable. They have every variety of wine you can think of. Also wine from all over the world. They have some wine and bubbly in a refrigerator, in case you want to drink your wine right away. I will be visiting them again. read more

The chief asset that makes the Wine Cellar a five star destination is the staff. They are always very knowledgeable about their inventory and genuinely friendly and helpful. I don't recall ever being disappointed with any of the recommendations that I have received. The wine is reasonably priced and the facility is clean and inviting. What a great find! Bargains bargains bargains! The Wine Cellar Outlet actually is the Illinois wine distributor for many wine clubs. They sell the overstock from the wine clubs. You can find some amazing wines & deals. The wine cellar specializes in $15-$30 wines, but sell them at half the price. Be sure to take your favorite wine app with you and go to town! I sure did. I visited the location because I bought a Groupon. I wanted to have a few bottles around the house during the holidays for drop in guest as well as for folks I inadvertently left off my Christmas list. They have a large selection in varying prices. I was really happy with the selection of Chilean and Spanish wines. I did my research online before going since it's really a warehouse and I didn't expect much help and I was right. Many of the labels I've enjoyed from a previous wine club which, I view as favorable. I have driven by it for years without knowing about. I absolutely love this place. I always seem to get a headache from common store bought wines. I would pass it every time I went to Berlands for specialty tools, and finally stopped in out of curiosity. OMG a group of Sommeliers who travel the vineyards of the world to ship back good wine for distribution. My wine snob friends and I have yet to have a bad bottle of wine from there yet. When my family stayed at my house, the six of us polished off 9 bottles out of that case, that night. All of us awoke the next morning, refreshed with no hangovers. I usually choose a variety case of wine at a time. I only drink the "select", I have had no reason to upgrade to the "premium" or even the "ultra". Definitely get on their mailing list for deals. This place has ruined me for common store wine. Left the beer since finding this place, and not looking back. read more
