I stumbled upon the Wine Mine while waiting for my smoothies at The Well. The Wine Mine has a great selection of wines, at affordable prices. I had just bought the same Frank Family wine at Whole Foods the day before, for $10-15 MORE than what the Wine Mine sold it for! (Edited, thanks for flagging my error david) The prices here are cheaper than other bigger stores, so why not save money AND support local?! The guy working there (I didn't catch his name) was super friendly. I was being indecisive and he recommended a Cab that cost $35 that normally sells for ~$100. I also asked him for a recommendation for a Rioja and he didn't push the more expensive botttles & recommended one for around $30. If I still lived in Oakland, I'd go here for all my wine need

Loved the selection and the price :-) Walked in this cute wine store and immediately asked the wine educator for recommendations considering I like reds (e.g Malbec blends ) but my partner prefers champagne/sparkling wines that aren't too sweet. Plus he was making lobster AND steak She recommended the following which I bought: 1. Rombauer Zinfandel : nice jam flavor 2. Fremantle D'Alsace Rose: partner loved t - way more expensive ham Domaine Chandon 3. Faso Malbec (2018), Argentina 4. Gaucho Malbec , Argentina Suggestions: - I do like dessert wine especially sweet reds. I know it's not their thing but it would be nice - the lady was nice but much more warm/effervescent with the precious customer she helped . Slightly colder with me . Wish I had his welcome from her

The Wine Mine was the Site of a CMYE Saturday sponsored by our own Yelp CM Nique. I rolled my weekend whip to the Wine Mine and was able to park right in front in the handy Parking Lot. I rolled in and was pleased with what I saw . A wide selection of Wines and Gluten free beers. This being Saturday they offer a Special 5 wine tasting for a $1 . What a Bargain and generous pours . There was a whole Posse of Yelp folks tasting the wines . What a great way to start off a Saturday afternoon . It was Cool meeting some of my Yelp Online friends for the first time and hang with regular ones too. Good Times . Rolled of in my Whip to a little Sade.

What a cute little wine shop! I can't believe I've lived a block from it for so long without knowing this was here. Pros: The guy who owns it is really incredibly nice. The wines are discounted, and they'll help you find the wine you want. They have a great variety. On Saturdays from 2-5 you can come for $1 tastings to try 5 wines. They do different wines every weekend. Sometimes their tastings are geographic (wines from France, or wines from Napa) and sometimes by type (Rose, reds.) It's a fun experience that I would recommend! Parking in this area is relatively easy to find on the street and there's also a parking lot. It's also located next to a yummy bakery! There's a little area in my the front of the shop for kids to play while you wine shop. Cons: Not really anything.

Don't get me wrong --- This is a FIVE STAR PLACE. Wow.. I am just like Drue C. and didn't know you guys existed until by total accident. Not worried that I paid too much or not, it was nice to see some wines not carried in other shops or that I would have to go all the way up to Napa to get a bottle. Love the arrangement, and a kind of neat thing to see the outside benches that what, allows pours? This is place is AWESOME... so if you need wine.. I am sharing Yelp love to my vino drinking buds to go on down.

Lievland wine recommended by staff. Smoky, full bodied, low acidity

And I'm done with Bevmo…read more Was in here today, August 14, 2025. Looking at some beers. Hoping there would be a possibility I might find something fresh. Nope. Every beer I looked at had old brew dates - the freshest being January 2025. Again, we're in August of 2025. I took a picture of one Fort Point beer - March of 2024 (see my screenshot). This is not remotely acceptable. And that does it for me and Bevmo. There are lots of options out there to get good beer - you'd think Bevmo would stop selling this super old stuff - but they won't. It appears all Bevmos sell old beer. Count me out. That's the last time I ever step foot in a Bevmo. Also note - people do not need to be greeted when they walk in. For the life of me I do not understand why Bevmo thinks people like this. The person stops what they're doing a the register to yell "Welcome, hello!" to everyone who walks in. This isn't Blockbuster. It's a liquor store. Let people walk in and mind their own business without being accosted when they walk in (and walk out - "Bye, have a great day!"). And bye to you, Bevmo. (and note, the "Customer service" bot will respond with the stock response "we're sorry to hear about your service, please email us at blah blah blah..." And what happens when you email them? Nothing, outside getting put on a spam list. Avoid this dump) update edit: And the customer service bot responded exactly like I said. How is this place even still open?

I don't consider myself a beer connoisseur, but I like trying different beers and ciders so this place was right up my alley. I had a friend visiting Berkeley from out of town so we came here to hang out and catch up. One thing that stood out to me is this place, because it's a taproom and not a brewery, is open later than the other beer places in the East Bay. Many choices of beer and cider on tap. I tried the ginger peppercorn cider and it was very unique, I've never had a cider like this flavor, it's almost like a cross between ginger beer and cider. My friends enjoyed various beers on tap. The place is pretty small but very clean and cute. I like that you can choose from 10 oz or 16 oz pour, so people like me can try more varieties in smaller portion than just drinking one boring thing. I like variety. The all you can eat popcorn was a hit with our little group. The truffle flavor really elevates the popcorn and it goes well with beer! There's so much free parking in this area at night... super convenient... although it scared me for a minute when I couldn't find my car in the very empty street lot, before I realized I was another block farther down. This area of Berkeley feels pretty safe at night even at 11pm. Good place. I would definitely go again!

From the very beginning, the customer service was lacking. Before finalizing my event, I visited the venue in person to ask questions and get a better understanding of the space. The Hispanic male employee I interacted with was unfriendly, unapproachable, and unable or unwilling to answer even basic questions, repeatedly telling me to contact sales. While I understand that sales handles bookings, I expected someone who works at the venue to be able to provide some level of assistance or information. Unfortunately, his attitude remained the same during the event. Several things that had been requested were not set up as discussed, and the overall atmosphere felt unwelcoming. What upset me most was that some of my guests arrived carrying water bottles, and this employee openly told me, in front of my guests, that he would kick us out if he sees outside drinks again. I found this incredibly embarrassing, unprofessional, and completely inappropriate. The experience became so uncomfortable that many of my guests left early. For what was supposed to be a special occasion, the service and treatment we received fell far below expectations. Considering the amount spent, I expected professionalism, hospitality, and a welcoming environment. Unfortunately, we received the opposite. I would not host another event here, nor would I recommend this venue to others looking for a place to celebrate an important occasion.

The inside has a nice modern look and there is a lounge to the side open for happy hour. We sat in there which has its own bar. It is very cozy. My husband ordered a Caesar salad and I ordered the French Onion soup with a bacon grilled cheese. Our waiter started off well but when he came to get our orders he didn't write anything down and I had to repeat myself twice. The first time he was facing my husband, the second he came to my side and I pointed at the menu while slowly repeating my order. I simply wanted a grilled cheese with bacon added no avocado as it is advertised as an add on, on the menu. As he walked away a part of me knew my order was going to be messed up. Low and behold my soup arrives with a side of bacon. I then explained again what I ordered. A few moments pass and he comes back and then my husband explains what I wanted. I'm not sure if it was a language barrier but it just didn't seem to register. I truly did not think asking for soup & bacon grilled cheese would be so difficult. By this time my husband had already received his salad which was delicious. Finally, he comes back with my soup, a grilled cheese and the bacon ON THE SIDE. If I ordered a bacon grilled cheese why would you give me like this? Why not make my grilled cheese and add the bacon inside? To make matters worse the French onion soup was so bland not even salt could save it. It tasted like a nothingness broth. The grilled cheese was better once I made it myself. The waiter never came back to check on us. The manager hovered by for a while but we had to even flag him down for the check. I left hungry and got a meal at the airport. Would not recommend. If you can't remember an order as a waiter please just write it down.

We ordered via DoorDash, and I wouldn't call our experience "heroic."…read more The pinsa was very good. We got the Calabrian shrimp. We found it very tasty, but paying over $25 for this on DoorDash--certainly not worth the price even though we really enjoyed it. The spicy chicken parm sandwiches were not good. The chicken breast was flabby, and came across like it was one of those frozen cooked Tyson jobs. I would be very surprised if they actually breaded chicken breast, fried it, and made the sandwich with that. It was mushy, and the breading was like paste on the chicken. Pretty awful. They charge extra for sauce, which is a little much, given that we paid $21 for each sandwich. But we figured out pretty quickly why they do this: there was hardly any sauce on the sandwiches. And precious little cheese. We each ate half of our sandwich and figured we doctor the leftovers up the next day with a jar of Rao's and a bag of shredded Italian cheese. That helped, but nothing could save that chicken. The meatballs. We paid $15 for four, and we had high hopes, but they were so mushy that they fell apart in the sauce, and I couldn't tell what was sauce and what was meatballs. The only flavor that came across was fennel. Why any meatball should be so fennel-forward strikes me as bizarre. We got what we thought were pretty basic things, and they were fails. If an Italian place can't make a decent chicken parm sandwich nor a decent meatball, that says something. If you go, try the pinsa.
