They have a marvelous selection of libations from budget-friendly to spendy. I'm more budget-minded, but still impressed by the selection (bougie alert: Veuve Cliquot, The Balvenie, etc.). Oh, and the sales!!! (I once scored some Patron for $19!) Unlike many "convenience/liquor" stores their prices are comparable to the supermarkets. They sell snacks/foods/random stuff too but don't expect a massive selection (it *is* a liquor store). This liquor store has a large selection of wines, beer and alcohol, which is decent. However, I am not one to imbibe too much on alcoholic beverages. I believe over half of E Z Liquors 2 space is filled with liquor on the shelves, the aisles and the refrigerators. The store also has an assortment of snacks - chips, candy, cupcakes, etc. If one has the "munchy" from doing some MJ smoking, hey, this is the place to get snacks. Not to say that I engage in that type of activity of smoking a "blunt", but still the choices of snacks they have available are good. I would have given this store a four star rating, but the man/cashier behind the counter was not personable and friendly. Ding, minus 1 star. The only time he said anything to me was telling me the cost of three Mega tickets and three bags of snacks. He did not bother to ask me if I needed a plastic bag for my items. He was very helpful to the gentleman in front of me and offered him a bag for his bottle of booze. However, nada, zilch, no eye contact after I told him to have a nice day. I don't believe I even heard him say thank you after my purchase. Sheesh! Is it because I did not spend enough in the store? Or is it because of a gender issue, being that I am a woman? Such a disdainful attitude that I received from him that I might and/or might not step into this liquor store. How stoic can one be with a scowl on one's face? The only redeeming factor of this liquor store was they had my favorite snack - bags of assorted flavored Bugles - which I cannot find in supermarkets such as Safeway, Nob Hill Foods, Lucky, Grocery Outlet. Besides the original flavor Bugles, they carry nacho, ranch, barbecue and caramel flavors. Was pleasantly surprised that they had exactly what I needed in stock after my two previous suppliers failed me. It is called Ancho Reyes Mexican chili liqueur. Delicious and spicy in a margarita with traditional tequila or mezcal. Cashier was super-friendly and I'd definitely go again when I run out of margarita supplies. read more

Greg ,what beers do they NOT have that you want?? I was here yesterday thinking " Man they have a lot of different beers to choose from ." I was looking for Black Dog Ale and they didn't have it . For once, a liquor store that serves the community rather than mooches off of it. I've been incredibly impressed with this liquor store. People from all walks of life and all parts of the neighborhood come to do business here. Whether it's the person who buys a tall can of beer and a lottery ticket, or a high-end spirits buyer like myself, Zee and his nephew work hard to satisfy their customers. Their customer service is excellent, their prices are extremely fair, and their selection is excellent as well. I live in Oakland, but I regularly make the trip to Alameda just to do business here. Z at E-Z Liquors is one of the nicest people one would want to meet or do business with (as are the others who work at E-Z). More importantly he is a great neighbor. I was on a drug that made me sick as a dog. One thing that made less sick was Vernon's Ginger Ale (diet). Z only had a partial six pack and I asked him if he could get more. "Sure, no problem. I'll have it for you in the morning." Sure enough, the next day it was there. And it was there each week I needed it. I know it seems like no big deal but it is. Z could've easily forgot about it or he could've blown it off but he didn't. You see, he's a man of his word. I'm at E-Z several days a week, I'm always greeted with a big smile and a couple of jokes. If Z isn't too busy he always has time to chat before I need to get back to work. Love E-Z and you will too. I wish I lived in the area so I could go here everyday. It's thanksgiving day and my girlfriend and I couldn't find a single check cashing place open to cash her paycheck. I called and although they never committed to being able to for sure cash it for us the person who answered could not have been more pleasant and respectful. We decided to go and try to cash it anyways and again just the most pleasant guys were working behind the register and what seemed to be stocking inventory. After a few questions they cashed the check for us no problem. It really seemed as if he was almost giving us the benefit of the doubt that everything was on the up and up as I'm sure they have to deal with fraudulent situations quite often. Not only the that but the fee charged was minimal in comparison to most check cashing places we go. I couldn't have asked for a better experience.
