Went there for a birthday celebration. Bar tenders were fun knowledgeable. It is super dark and was I glad I wore a fun sequin dress. It is literally one room. Thank goodness the toilets are not only spacious but also kept immaculate. Food was ordered. Found it meh but then we were not going for food. Music is played loud enough to still be able to have a convo.

Nice ambience both seating by the wall

This lil bar in Emeryville is a hidden gym. This is a nice way to stop and have a couple drinks pregame and eat a lil something off the menu . Diane Johnson here creates a soft vibe. And the service is wonderful so today to drink I had a passion fruit. Margarita. It was very good. They're great for drinks

The good: Cute place and cozy. Friendly staff. The bad: kitchen greasy smell strong and all our clothes and hair smelled after. But the really disappointing part is the food. Ordered three items. Steak and fires but meat texture and flavor showed that it is not fresh high quality meat. The fries had lemon seasoning which makes it sour. Sad dish even though recommended by bartender. Vietnamese chicken wing too saucy and have almost no tamarind taste. The Brussels Sprouts is decent but over fried and dry. We really wanted this neighborhood joint to be good but sadly not, $100 later.

A hidden gem!!! I was surprised that Emeryville would have such a swanking bar with delicious food! The owner made our cocktails, and he was very kind and a great conversationalist. He definitely puts a lot of care into the place. The place has been remodeled to reveal a chic, modern, hip aesthetic. I can tell he cares about the community because he knows the regulars' names by heart. I got the cheesesteak sandwich with fries, and it really did hit the spot. They do have a cocktail menu, but I just opted for the classic sidecar. Owner knows what he's doing.

We were in the area looking for a bar open on a Monday night, and found Branch Line. Doesn't look like much from the outside, but once we stepped inside, we were pleasantly surprised. A cute and cozy setting with several tables as well as bar seating, 90's hip hop music playing through the speakers, bringing some nostalgia to our conversation, and a menu with plenty of options for drinks. I had the Passionfruit Margarita, which had just the right balance of flavors, sweet and sour, with a hint of salt, perfect for chill time on a Monday night. My friend ordered the Dark & Stormy and asked for a double... and while drinking it, said it tasted like he got a triple! After drinking it, he said they probably actually gave him a quadruple! Lol I guess it's safe to say, they serve good drinks here. Oh yeah, great service too. They didn't even kick us out when they closed.

Woo weeeee! Branch Line Bar is my kind of vibe! It's dark, it's sexy, it's low key. The drinks are excellent, the food is yummy, the music is bumpin', and the crowd is fun. Yeeeah, I think I struck gold with this one. On a Friday night, I actually felt like going out. Not OUT-out... but out. At my big age, this has become a rarity. When my Granny clock strikes 7:30 ish nowadays, I'm already looking to rush home to lay my arse in bed. I know, I know. Blame it on my awful sleeping habits I guess... but the days of me being out all night have become slim to none. Not sure what got into me on this particular night, but ya girl was wit the sh¡ts. Rolled up on Branch Line and it did not disappoint! First of all, I love the coziness. Love how intimate and stylish this place is. Apparently they had just renovated their interior space. So, not sure how it was lookin' before, but it looks friggin' haaawt now! It's like propagation on the back wall, rusticism on the floor and bar top, and dazzling light work on the ceiling. Very eclectic and easy on the eyes. Plus, that dark lighting just sets the mood, yo. It's a yes for me decor-wise. 100 percent bae. Sat at the bar and basically got a free show. I'm a lover of craft cocktails, and seeing when bartenders "craft" them always puts a smile on my face. The bartenders were all warm and friendly. They too were having a fun time and it was such a joy to see. Ordered two cocktails and a beer to wind me down before I left. The cocktails are beautifully crafted here. They seriously know how to mix the perfect ingredients together. Pure utopian liquid sustenance right there, I tell ya! Had the Wimbledon Station and the Fiyah Water cocktails and both tasted amazing and left ya girl with a sizable buzz :). They serve food here as well and practically everything on their menu sounds delicious. Ordered the steak frites and the steak was cooked and seasoned to perfection. Their frites are potato wedge style but still so enjoyably crispy. One thing that Shayla loves is crispy carb, and those frites just did it for me. You cannot go wrong with the food or drinks here. The music was bangin' baybee! They was bumpin' that good sh¡t, makin' my head bob for most of my time there. They had a game on, but I wasn't really paying too much attention to it. I guess if you're into the games, this would be a nice spot to kick it and watch. On a side note, their restroom was super clean! We all know how some bar restrooms can be. I applaud them for the upkeep, and I enjoyed reading the little lit up quotes on the walls. One of those rare times where I felt like I could stay there all day. Like, take AAAALLLL my money! This whole dayum wallet. Mm hmm, one of dem nights. Loved it, loved it, looooved it. This place is going in my pocket of favorite East Bay bars. I know that I say that I'll return back and sometimes never do but um. I will DEF be returning to this place again. If not on another solo adventure, then definitely with the homies. We about to be vibin' out at the Branch Line, son!

If you didn't know, know ya…read moreknow...located essentially across the way from CAL in Berkeley, East Bay Spice to me is a hidden gem filled with such nostalgic memories shared with friends over the years. They closed for a time, and now seem to be thriving again! Heading to the Greek for a weekend show, we wanted to pop in somewhere close-by. We cozied up to bar seating, and enjoy a couple of martinis featuring local gin and vodka, and ordered some food to share: the Original Tikka Masala Flatbread (we had to finally try it!), and the Sev Puri Chaat (first time trying this ever!). Service was amazing, and if I could write this review purely on the originality and creativity of the menus, I would (see pics!) The menus were CD cases (remember those, ha) with a fun take on 'Spice Girls', titled 'East Bay Spice Company'. For Spice Girls fans, you will recognize what album this was derived from. Each page of the cd book was a different part of the menu, including drinks, happy hour (from 2-6pm), and food. So fun, and unlike anything I've ever seen before. The food was so fresh and delicious. Loved the pomegranate seeds and lightness from the Sev Puri Chaat, bite size garbanzo bean/potato goodness! And standing O for that flatbread..pro-tip: get a side of the Tikka Masala sauce to pour on top. Absolutely amazing. I'm a huge fan of Tikka Masala, and having that sauce be a base for a pizza...come on!! We did chicken as the protein. Overall, so happy to return and have East Bay Spice back apart of the Berkeley rotation again. Small, dimly-lit, cool digs. Also check out their sister spots: Tap in Lounge and Tipsea in Berk, Blue Rabbit Bar off San Pablo, and Lemon Drop in Alameda.

The presentation was impeccable, and the sauce was rich, creamy, and full of flavor. The chicken seemed like a leaner cut, possibly breast, but it was still tender and not overcooked. I thoroughly enjoyed this plate and would 100% come back to order it again. My husband ordered the flatbread, though I can't remember the exact name, and it was surprisingly delicious as well. It tasted almost like a pizza version of the chicken tikka masala, making it a great shareable option if you're looking to snack, chat, and enjoy cocktails. Speaking of cocktails, the bartenders seemed very knowledgeable and helped me choose a drink based on my preferred spirit and cocktail style. I ended up with the Skeleton Key, which was strong, but still paired well with the meal. I'd happily come back to try more cocktails and, of course, order that chicken tikka masala again.
