I'm always distrustful of stores like these and this experience did nothing to make me feel more comfortable. I get a discount on Verizon through one of my clients so it makes sense for me to stick with them now that its time for me to upgrade phones. However, I don't use it for the web and I rarely text. I basically want something that will make and receive calls. But I do travel outside of the US quite a bit and was interested in a GSM phone with a SIM card of which I knew that Verizon carried at least one (from researching on its website) When I told the gentleman who offered to assist my mother and I what I was looking for, his response was, 'oh you mean you want one with a memory card.' No, I want a GSM phone with a SIM card. His response, 'No, I'm sure you mean a memory card, like one of those micro SD cards.' After explaining to him that I really did mean a SIM card, he told me that there wasn't such a thing with Verizon and I would have to get a smart phone with a data plan. I explained that I don't want a data plan as I wouldn't use it and he proceeds to show me a Blackberry. I mention the phone that I had seen on the website and he tells me it doesn't exist and the other worker on the computer (surfing the web) doesn't offer to look it up. He just gets up and walks away. After 10 minutes of him showing me phones that didn't meet my requirements he asks my mom what she's looking for. She just wants a basic phone. She doesn't text or use data service either. He starts showing her some of the more complicated phones in the store. She again asks him for something simple and he shows her a smart phone. I couldn't wait to get out of there. After not being able to correct a billing problem for my 84 year old Aunt, I decided to go the her local Verizon store at 3807 S. Hamilton Road in Groveport, Ohio. I was greeted and I explained my/her situation to Dominic. He was very helpful, and explained to me what my options were, since I was not listed on her account. Dominic went above and beyond to help me get this problem fixed. He went even further, as I couldn't figure out how to use my Aunt's flip phone to receive messages. I can't recommend this Verizon Store and especially Dominic highly enough. I have rarely given 5-star reviews in the past, because to me, even after a problem has been solved, I felt as though I had not been fully satisfied with the outcome.
