History

Established in 2012.

The Works: Guitars was formed out of a need the owner, Josiah Wiens, found in the guitar lessons field. As many guitar studios just taught things about the guitar, they did not use proven strategies to help their students advance. Josiah then did the next logical thing to do: start a business from the ground up that fulfilled the needs of the guitar students. That is exactly what Josiah did. Josiah has dozens of students now, all happy and improving rapidly on the guitar.

Meet the Business Owner: Josiah W.

Josiah Wiens is the proud owner of The Works: Guitars and is passionate about passing on fun and fundamental guitar techniques to any student he is privileged to work with. Josiah has been playing guitar for over fifteen years and has had many diverse influences. Artists such as Metallica, As I Lay Dying, Journey, John Scofield, and Stanley Jordan played a role in developing Josiah musically, perspectively, and artistically as a guitarist. Once Josiah discovered the renowned teachings of Tom Hess and Steve Vai, he became increasingly driven as a guitar player and mentor. Josiah set musical goals for himself and studied through the Berkeley College of Music. He is now a certified professional in Guitar Chords, Guitar Scales, Jazz Guitar, and Rock Guitar for Tulsa guitar lessons. Along with other teachers Josiah aspires to grow from, Tom Hess was and continues to be a musical mentor in his life.
