I booked the class the night before at the very last minute. Before walking into the studio, while parking my car, I realized that I accidentally forgot my yoga mat at home. So, as I entered the studio, I was happy when the yoga teacher handed me a yoga mat to borrow after I told her that I forgot mine at home. VINYASA CLASS -- I checked the class schedule and I believe took the "In Studio - All Levels" class. The instructor Mel D. led the class. As a teacher, she used great cues that allowed the students to flow from one yoga pose to the next. This class wasn't difficult for me but even though it appeared to be a beginner level class, I still enjoyed the challenge of holding poses such as downward facing dog. YOGA CLASS DESCRIPTION (In Studio - All Levels Class) -- "Flow classes focus on alignment, breathing, and mindfulness, inviting the body to move with increased awareness and ease. During this class we will incorporate several modifications to accommodate physical limitations or to make poses more challenging." Hope yoga has locations in Westlake and Fairview Park. I've long been interested in trying out a yoga class and the beginner's workshop was the perfect way to start out. Most times I was too afraid to book a class elsewhere because all the hardcore yogis would be flowing through moves and I'd be huffing and puffing on my mat unable to figure out what was going on. That was so not the case here. Our yoga instructor, Erica (and owner of the biz), was friendly, welcoming, and helpful the entire class. We were led through a series of moves all leading up to being able to put together a sun salutation A. With Vinyasa each move "flows" through to the next and builds off of some basic poses. Per the YogaFlow website, Vinyasa yoga is a strong, athletic style of yoga that links movement to your breath. The focus on breathing was more relaxing than I had anticipated. I left class feeling both energized and calm. It was wonderful. The beginner's workshop lasted the full two hours but it felt like no time at all. Very much looking forward to my next class. Some notes: -Bring your own mat, water, and a towel. -They provide yoga props (blankets, blocks). -To get to the studio enter the building at 5320 Hoag Drive (park behind the building), enter Dr. Michael Seng's office and turn right, then head up the stairs to the loft. -Try not to eat before class (you probably wouldn't feel so great if you do). -Don't wear super loose baggy clothes, they will get in the way. -Various level classes are available throughout the week, check the website for details.

It's a great balance--reminders of how to move and align your body properly to avoid injury and deepen into poses with the reminder to adapt to what your body needs. The atmosphere in the old firehouse is lovely and the tiny studio is very well stocked with props. They also offer a variety of classes so those who want to flow will be happy and those into restorative or yin have a place as well. I appreciate all the safety measures they have in place as we move out of COVID time. This place is a gem (other clients are a friendly bunch as well.)

Stacy was incredible--welcoming, hands-on, and motivating. As a first-timer, I felt completely supported while still being challenged. The instructor was very friendly and walked me through the machine for my first time. She instructed me during the class to have proper form and safe movements. I really appreciated her knowledge and kindness during my first class bc I had to takes breaks on some of the movements that really kicked my butt haha. Today was a full body day and it definitely worked every part of my body. Slow and controlled with intermittent bursts of quicker movements to really work those muscles. Pilates is just so different from any other type of workout and if that is what you are looking for than this is for you. I would love to get a membership or class pack but the cost is so expensive. I also had to pay $15 for a pair of grip socks, which were super cute so I wasn't mad about it. But still, first class should be free socks ;) this Pilates studio is located in Ohio city, street parking. Definitely worth checking out!! So fun and great atmosphere.

Starting out I was confused with the flow of things but overtime I learned the ropes. My main gripe with ATB is that they're very much competition orientated. I really just want my girls to enjoy dance and gymnastics recreationally. I also do not want my young girls dressing in the dance recital outfits and wearing the unnecessary make up. Miss Mo and Miss Rachel have been great instructors who provide a positive and fun learning environment.
