    Amazing cheese curds
    Pam W.

This is a great place to stop if you're in the Hawthorne, Florida area. Nice patio to enjoy the beautiful weather outdoors, there are only a couple tables inside. We ordered the cheese sticks, they were OK, they were not my favorite. But the cheese curds were out of this world! I will definitely be getting these on my next visit. I did not get a picture of the shrimp Poboy, but it was delicious. Nice ripe tomatoes, perfectly fried shrimp with a drizzle of aïoli. The chicken Caesar wrap was crisp and fresh. My daughter could only eat half. Our server was great, it did take a few minutes for them to come out and take our order, but once they realized we were not waited on they were on top of it. I will definitely come back again!

Didn't go inside, they had plenty of outdoor seating. We were waited on right away. Outdoor seating has sun shades, but on a hot day it might be better to go inside. My wife had chicken tenders and they were moist and delicious. I had a catfish po' boy and I loved it. Only thing is I would have liked a bigger piece of fish, but the tastes made up for the smaller portion. We both had fries and a Thai tea, both were excellent. Not on the main strip so if you don't already know where this place is you probably won't find it without a gps. The only bathroom is outside on the side, but it was clean. Excellent find in a small town.

This was SO GOOD! Stopped in on our way to Clearwater from Jacksonville. Everything was healthy and delicious. I'm not sure what spice they put on their fries but it almost makes it taste like sweet potato fries! Service was friendly but a little slow, unclear that you check out at the front... so keep that in mind! Definitely worth a stop if you're nearby!

Wow! A delightful surprise! The Wrap Shack is a new favorite stop on our beach trips. The food was great with lots of creative sandwiches, wraps sides and desserts. Great service staff and a skilled cook. We got the catfish hoagie and the shrimp wrap (see pics). Charming, small town decor both inside and out on the shaded patio.

This place is a hidden gem and worth the side track off the main highway! The service is fantastic. She was really sweet and very attentive to our needs. The food was great. I am not an onion ring person, but they were fantastic, as well as the cheese curds and fries were addictive. It is dog friendly, so we sat outside and had a festive garden vibe to it. I would definitely come back.

Raw chicken left out on counter for at least 1 hour.

It's the only burger place around here! Years have passed, and competition has moved into town... and yet? I'd rather go here for my hamburger crave than anywhere else around. Why? They've never compromised on how they make, wrap or deliver their delicious burgers to you out the window. They are just as delicious today as they were 20-odd years ago when I first tried them and got hooked! How does someplace maintain this? Good management and ownership. Not compromising on quality, ingredients or changing how it has always been done and done right. The same burger I bought from there over 20 years ago is the same delicious burger I buy today. Sure, the prices have gone up, but they have to in order to pay upkeep of your premises, taxes, your staff and the suppliers of everything you have to have in order to run your business. I still remember someone complaining about how much it was for a burger there when they first raised their prices to at least be somewhat competitive with the "Arches" down the street. Look. You can go down there and buy something that someone flipped around, pre-processed somewhat filled with questionable meat or soy protein, loaded with msg and salt, who knows where it all was already made and pre-cooked before it even got there... I've seen the process from start to finish at our Burger Barn. They cook your burger fresh once you order it. If it were made already, it'd be ready for pickup at the window when you pull up to order... sounds like someplace you know? I've got the patience for something fresh, something consistently good and priced a lot cheaper than down the street, considering you're getting so much better quality! So you do you and go wherever you like... me? I'll stick with the best burger in town that's oh so good from the first bite to the very last bit. I thought about that, looking at the bite I had at the end with still plenty of creamy cheese, tons of meat and a few delicious pieces of pickles, onions, lettuce and even a sliver of tomato worked into it! Good to the absolute last bite. It's amazing to me that no one realizes how lucky we are that we have a family owned and mostly run business right here serving quality to our community for how many years now? Anyone know? I'll have to ask them. The window servers may change but the food is always the same goodness it always is. Thank you guys for maintaining your place in our town!!

It's a family owned and run business, much like the one in Interlachen. When CoVid ran rampant, they made the necessary adjustments, but still fed us. They do one helluva take-out business, let me tell you! I've NEVER seen that place idle day OR night!! I've never heard any complaints about their food except from people that are MSG sensitive. Other than that, I think we have the best one around. Fried chicken wings? Can't be beat. They taste like they're marinated in Chinese 5-spice to me, but who knows what that secret is? All I know is they're delicious, crispy and the ENTIRE WING, not wing segments. That beats just about everyone, hands down! I used to only eat plain things like Moo Goo Gai Pan, but now? I've fallen for their Moo Shu chicken and even their Mei Fun! I thought the Lo Mein was great, but wanted to try some of everything, just to see what was at the top of that flavor peak...I think I've found my favorite combination and I'm sticking with it They have something for everyone's taste, whether you like sweet, spicy, nutty, savory or even a combination of tastes and textures. If you don't experiment, you'll never know, right? So order a small quantity of different things and expand your knowledge and tastes! (My current favorite thing is to order the chicken wings, debone them, put the meat and crispy skin in the bottom of my bowl, a small amount of steamed rice that I drizzle with sesame oil and a little bit of togarashi seasoning sprinkled on top...then I get my moo shu chicken and put some of that on top with another little sprinkle of the sesame oil and togarashi. Stirred together, you have this delicious umami flavor from the stir fried cabbage, carrots, onions mushrooms and chicken and that Pop off a little heat from the togarashi and then you get that delicious crispy bite of fried chicken with that--It HAS to be Chinese five spice!--flavor bomb...Omg soooooo good!) It might be an abomination of sorts to a purist, but I tend to crave the taste after a couple of weeks until my husband gets home so I can get more! Lol Don't expect fancy, look for solid flavors and freshness. I've never had any complaint about their food!

Let me start out with the fact that I am 53 years old and I was raised in New Jersey. The reason I…read moresay that is because I am one of those people, like it or not that doesn't believe you should tip someone for handing something over-the-counter to you. If I drive to pick up my own food, or I walk into a fast food restaurant and order something at the counter, I do not believe a tip is deserved, however, when I went to this place, something told me that I should tip, so I did, and I was 100% right. I ordered a small, yes I said small, chicken, tenders, a large fry and a large Pepsi. It came out to be around $14.00. $13 and some change and I added a dollar tip. The girl at the window who greeted me was super sweet. The reason I emphasized "Small is coming". Their version of a small chicken tenders was seven gigantic chicken tenders. Their version of a large fries was huge literally huge! One of the biggest bags of fries I have seen. The only other place that I know of that hands out this many fries is Five Guys Burgers. I asked for sweet barbecue sauce and a Pepsi. When I got to the window the first thing the girl did was hand me the soda with a straw, an actual plastic straw, not that paper garbage. I don't know if you know but where I live that's pretty freaking impossible to get. I paid for the food. I drove about two blocks down the street and the smell was just screaming eat me now. So I pulled over and I took my first bite of the chicken tender without any sauce on it and it was amazing. Then I opened up the sweet barbecue sauce and dipped the tender inside, took it out, put it in my mouth and again, Oh My God! With or without sauce these tenders are delicious. I have to say I am not a connoisseur or expert, but their fries are also amazing! They were delicious, a tad greasy, but hell you know what, I don't care! The taste voids the greasiness. If you are looking for some good fast food, chicken tenders or chicken and you like french fries as much as I do you have got to go to this place!! I live in Gainesville and know this, I will drive all the way back out there just to get some more. If that doesn't speak volumes to you, I don't know what will!

However, in its place is Temoo! I have now tried them, and the food isn't bad at all! They have only just recently opened and they are still trying to get their feet under them properly, but I ordered the gyro sandwich and five wings and they came out in a reasonable amount of time for having been prepared fresh. Quick note about the wings: Five doesn't sound like a lot, but they are both the drumette and flat together, so by other wing places' standards, it is more like ten wings! They have a variety of sauces, and I went for the mango habanero. It is definitely more sweet than spicy, but still tasty. The sauce distribution wasn't great, and there was a large pool of the sauce that was acting more like a dipping sauce than a tossed sauce. The gyro was pretty standard... the meat for it didn't seem prepackaged, which was a good sign, and it held up well. There is better in town, but this one holds up against most of the locations in town that make gyros. There is seating outside, under a shelter with four picnic tables, so at least you can eat under some shade during the summer months. The workers there were pleasant enough, and they brought my food out to me while I waited under the shelter. Final analysis though? Sadly, I don't see this place surviving unless they can come up with a menu item that truly brings people flocking to their doors. It's NOT about their food, though... their food is fine, and if they were located in some other location in town they would probably do decently. It is purely the location: the parking here is minimal, getting into the place is a rough stop on the brakes with traffic coming up behind you at breakneck speeds, and there simply isn't enough other commercial industry in the area to support them well. I truly hope that my prediction here doesn't come true.
