Let's talk about The Yard. I will start off by saying the pizza is beyond delicious. Delicious isn't even a good enough word to describe it. It is so delightful that it is making my mouth water just thinking about it. So fresh. That being said, understand that fresh pizza does take time to make. This ain't frozen, boxed up pizza that you pop in the oven and it's ready in 15 minutes. This pizza is made by hand. I actually saw them rolling the dough, and carefully adding the ingredients. Do not come here when you are already hangry, tapping your little foot, and rolling your eyes, ready to snap. Come here when you are not quite hungry yet, but "getting there." Come when you want to let your kids run around a little and play some ball with them while you wait for your pizza. Go to The Yard if you want to catch a sports game outside on their awesome porch and have a drink with friends while you wait for your freshly made pizza. This was my first time going with our friends (who are regulars), so I can only speak on one pizza: "LJ's Goes Yard" This pizza had brisket, mozzarella cheese , bbq sauce, and pickles. The brisket was flavorful and tender. The sweetness of the barbecue sauce paired nicely with the sourness of the pickles. The crust was perfect... just the right texture and not over cooked. I loved it! My only regret is that we got only one pizza. We are a family of 3, (2 adults and a toddler) but we can eat. Pro tip: get 2 pizzas. Worst case scenario: you take some home for later. I also want to mention that the environment was great. Plenty of space for kids to run. Very family friendly. Corn hole, a spot for kids to play baseball, plenty of baseballs (plastic so no worries about getting a black eye), bats, footballs, etc. Beer was cold, and they even brought some heaters out for the porch area so we could stay warm on a chilly Texas night. Staff was friendly! I Definitely recommend this place. We really like the pizza but the wait is terrible. Several times it's been over an hour waiting on a pizza when we were quoted 30 minutes. They only have 5 tiny ovens that do one pizza at a time so when they get busy the wait gets excessively long. read more

We hosted our son's 8th birthday at the Yard and it was the BEST experience. Each child was given their choice of kid-friendly foods, a drink and chips, and plenty of time on the field. I liked that the Yard reserved the wiffle ball field just for our group, and when our time was up we were even able to stay as long as we wanted in the bean-bag toss/eating area (with football games going!) while another group started their event. No one was rushed, and our friends had a great time. I appreciated that it was a place where the kids could have a great birthday experience but the adults could also relax on the weekend! The owners, Leland and Trisha, were both highly involved, but ALL of the staff were professional and so accommodating. Highly recommend whether you use the field or just the patios! Did I mention the Green Monster wall like Fenway Park. This place is EPIC!!! read more
