This was our second time dining here recently , and unfortunately, we had the exact same negative experience--both times with the same waitress, who introduced herself as Adrianna (blonde). From the moment we were seated, her attitude came across as dismissive and unwelcoming. Simple questions felt like an inconvenience, and there was a noticeable lack of basic courtesy. It honestly felt like we were bothering her just by being there. We gave it another chance thinking maybe the first visit was just an off day, but having the same experience twice--especially with the same server--makes it hard to overlook. Consistency matters, and unfortunately this was consistently poor service. It's disappointing because the place itself has potential, but service like this makes it difficult to want to return or recommend it to others. read more

I came to this restaurant right after homecoming. When I arrived I parked on the street nearby. I walked in and sat at the bar. Janine was my bartender tender and she was great. I had: garlic shrimp fra diavolo mussels Angry shrimp tacos Old bay fries Lava cakes All the food was actually really good. My favorite dish was the garlic shrimp and the old bay fries. Found this bar via yelp because we were in the area and needed food and libation. Street parking was available so we went in. A little loud but our party of 4 found a high top table and settled in. I think there were about 8 beers on tap. Service was friendly and attentive. I had a pretty good bacon cheeseburger and fries. Loved this place for quick drinks and food with the coworkers! I didn't get to see the inside looked since we sat outside on the patio with the beautiful weather this week. I got a drink with raspberry (I don't remember what it was called) which was delicious and the espresso martini was so pretty and a perfect balance between alcohol and coffee! We got chicken nachos which was okay, id try the beef next time. The Asian Thai chili calamari was delicious!! Highly recommend. We got fries that were super crispy. And we got wings which I was not a fan of. Service was great, our waitress kept checking on us and making sure we had another drink order coming when we were empty. Friendly servers and bartenders, this place has an awesome outdoors area with plenty of TVs and fans to keep you cool (I was there on a super humid day and it was very comfortable). The orange crush drink is FANTASTIC (fresh squeezed OJ) and I loved the pretzel bites and fried pickles. read more

We have seen great reviews so we wanted to finally try it. Our first issue was that it started to downpour and there was no where close to park at all so we waited until it stopped . Walked in and it was a very small place but the outside seating was nice and it was covered so we were ok with the second round of rain. We started with buffalo shrimp. Don't bother, the sauce was very off with a ton of garlic and we were shocked to see just six tiny shrimp floating in way too much of the sauce. Hubby had fish tacos and literally that's all it was three tacos with nothing in the side! Not even five or beans. I had salmon and it was cooked perfect so I enjoyed mine. In town for work for a week. Didn't want anything special just a burger and a beer, and maybe some sports. Found The Yard Haledon through Yelp. Popped in and immediately felt welcomed. Great spot for the locals but treated me a stranger with lots of warmth. Had the burger - excellent. Beers cold and cheap. 7 screens for multi sports watching. Good tunes as well! I never expect much food-wise from a bar/bar restaurant but maybe that's unfair because the food here is very good, not simply by bar standards but by restaurant standards. The burger was moist and tasty with a fresh bun. Thr fries were crisp and well cooked. The nachos were crazy good. The chips they use are tasty. The toppings were fresh and the meat delicious. This rating may be a little biased. I've been going to the yard regularly now for close to a year and they are now family! I first came to check out the food and the atmosphere and no place around compares. It's not even close. The food here is delicious! The regular items are all fantastic and their daily specials are even more spectacular! I had no idea that it was possible to get such an upscale meal in Haledon! Unlike some of the bars around here, the drinks are always cold and consistently made. The bartenders, waitresses and everybody else are very friendly and accommodating. I've recently went vegan. They have the best black bean burger around. Sometimes I ask them to put an onion ring on it with BBQ sauce to mix it up and they don't mind. They have made me vegan tacos and even made a vegan sampler platter of apps to accommodate me. When they told me they got paper straws, it brought a tear to my eye. Monday night is trivia night. Tuesday they do Bingo and 2$tacos. Wednesday night is karaoke night! Ladies night is Thursday and sometimes they do cigar&scotch night. If there's a special night like NYE or Thanksgiving Eve they will have a DJ. Of course there's plenty of TV's inside and outside so you can watch whatever games. They call it the yard because of the great lounge area in the back yard. During the winter, there's a tent and heaters. With the exception of winter, on Sunday's they do brunch and sometimes live music. They have lunch specials, happy hour specials and some pretty cheap draft beer. I came twice for happy hour ( they have the best prices) but, stayed both times for the vibes and food. From the walk in you can tell that everyone there loves their job. You're greeted politely, checked in on regularly and, they offer good conversation. The ambiance offered by the indoor and outdoor space is perfect for date nights, solo dates, and bigger parties. Definitely a Sunday Funday type of spot! Decided to check this place out as one my girl's cousin started bartending here so why not right?! We initially wanted to sit outside to enjoy what was left of the nice weather but we would of been the only ones so decided to head inside instead. The spot is not large but definitely surrounded by numerous TVs to catch the different games so needless to say I liked the vibes. We started with Pumpkin Beer and ordered Lemon Pepper Garlic Wings with Fries and they were really good! Wings had amazing flavor with good crisp and the fries were seasoned. We initially just wanted this as an appetizer but it was so good we ordered another round of the same exact thing lol One of the girls ended up getting Shrimp Tacos not realizing they were spicy so definitely keep this in mind! We ended up staying for quite a bit and at one point one of the bartenders was walking around to the tables with one of the spinners that depending where it lands you get different things like free shot, shirt etc. I think this added to the atmosphere and we ended up with a free rounds of shots so no complaints here!! My husband and I came in for Tuesday Happy Hour. This place is super small, but they have a decent beer selection and like 7 TVs for sports. I'm reviewing in the winter, so I didn't see what their outdoor seating set up looks like. They had a few drink specials like a sale on well liquors and $4 glasses of wine. They also offered 1/2 price on nachos, pretzel bites and Mac n cheese balls. We got the nachos and boom boom shrimp. The nachos are huge and super messy, but delicious. The shrimp was good, but nothing to go crazy over. Definitely get a lot of bang for your buck. We'll be back to try more food! read more
