We decided to try this spot bc there was mention of an outdoor patio, which is what we wanted on a sunny day. We asked to sit in said patio but were seated in a covered area. It appears there was a wedding happening in the outdoor space, sooo why not tell us that?? Once we sat we noticed the table was wobbling. The hostess said someone will be over to fix it, no one ever did. The waiter, River was nice and attentive w/o being over bearing. The drinks were good and the burgers were okay. Not the best, not the worst. I'd come back to go to the bar but skip on the food. This is def geared towards people who a trendy, instagramable / influencer type vibe.

Came here for date night with my hubby and enjoyed a few drinks and food. It is a bit pricey but the food is well worth it. Had the lamb chops which were delicious even though it was only two pieces it was perfectly seasoned and cooked. Service was somewhat good we did have to wave someone down a few times .

The place is so new and nicely decorated inside. The food was okay. We had the grilled octopus appetizer. There was a very small amount of octopus in it although it was tastey. The brussel sprouts were delicious. The beet, feta, and candied walnut salad was goid, but oddly enough there wasn't a walnut in it. It did have some finely ground walnut in the salad, but not much. The skirt steak was average. The hamburger was delicious. I had a salad in lieu of French fries. The Sangria drink was okay but didn't have fruit in it. Our waiter was nice.

Overall this place is a solid 3.5. When you pull in it's valet parking. The place is nice ambiance inside. The service was a tad slow the day we went. We order truffle fries which were good. For entrees we ordered rigatoni vodka and cauliflower steak. I enjoy the rigatoni vodka it was saucy, creamy and flavorful. I didn't know what to expect from cauliflower steak but it was good option for vegetarian. For dessert we got the chocolate molten cake and definitely recommend getting it. It was rich in a good way and gooey yummy. The perfect level of chocolate with ice cream.

The Craftsman definitely impresses with appearance. An upscale bar with a lot of space and beautiful greenery. My first experience was met with great tasting cocktails. Pictured include the Hermosa and Pineapple Express. Not pictured, but equally delicious is the espresso martini. The food offered is typical and average bar food. Good taste, but not something I would come back to visit. Our service was also inconsistent. Started off strong, then our server towards the end didn't check in. We had to ask for the bill. For a party of two, we spent around $85. Valet parking upon arrival. Overall, a place to visit for drinks and a lively atmosphere.

We were in the area and decided on an early dinner. The dining area is absolutely beautiful. I love the trees indoors. Valet parking is easy and free. The hostess did sit us at a smaller wobbly table but when I asked if we could move she was accommodating. The waitress was amazing and super attentive to our needs. The drinks were perfect and so was the food. We ordered a burger, a Cesar salad with steak and a crab cake, which was delicious. All in all we had a good experience. There is a DJ on the weekends and lots of people were sitting at the bar area, which also has a bunch of tables. Looks like it could be a whole vibe.

Went to The Craftsman for happy hour on a Tuesday. It looks like a nice spot, modern but lots of wood. Happy hour menu is available from 4pm-7pm in the bar area. We were seated at one of the booths in the bar pretty quickly, but nobody came to our table for nearly 20 minutes. Our waitress apologized for the wait, and took our order. They don't actually have a weekly cocktail special as listed on the happy hour menu, so I got a mojito and my wife got the frosé. The mojito was surprisingly solid, sweet, minty, and refreshing. The frose was very sweet and tasted like a slurpee. For food, we got the short rib flatbread, buffalo wings, fried chicken cracklins, fried calamari, bang bang shrimp, and chicken wontons. Short rib on the flatbread was tender, but there wasn't much of it on there. Five wings for $12 happy hour ain't a great deal for salty wings. The rest was OK, my favorite was the fried chicken cracklins, which was just fried chunks of boneless chicken. It's a nice spot, food is OK, and parking is easy since they have a big lot. I'd return

Love the craftsman! Food & drinks never disappoints even when they are super busy! They have a great happy hour options for different days of the week. Love the vibe of the restaurant & they offer free valet when it's peak dinner hours. Highly recommend coming for their happy hours especially for ladies night - their martinis are always my go too especially the lychee one!

In recent years, gastropubs have emerged as a popular dining option, captivating food enthusiasts with their unique blend of gourmet cuisine and traditional pub culture. The term "gastropub" was coined in the early 1990s in the United Kingdom. Located on busy Maple Avenue in Fairlawn, The Craftsman holds two dining rooms on the main floor: one with "a relaxed sports bar feel" and many televisions, while a more intimate setting awaits on the other side, with a bar on each of those sides. An enclosed garden room called the parlor provides additional seating options with a drag show while we were there, and an event space is available upstairs. Upon entering as first-timers late Saturday morning, my partner and I were greeted by the host without a reservation and got a table by the window in one of their dining rooms, evoking a sense of welcoming and comfort vibe where patrons can gather, socialize, and enjoy a laid-back environment. Their diverse menu consists of contemporary American cuisine with an Irish influence of high-quality dishes, from classic comfort foods to seasonal specialties crafted with fresh, locally sourced ingredients. They often boast an impressive selection of craft beers, wines, and cocktails. We decided on their brunch menu consisting of Short Ribs Skillet and Steak and Eggs. We washed them down with Schöfferhofer (unfiltered wheat beer with grapefruit juice). The food and drinks were amazing. Everything was fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented. The service was absolutely spectacular; every staff member was kind and attentive. Our server was J(esus). Whether one's a foodie seeking new flavors or someone looking for a cozy spot to enjoy a meal with friends, a gastropub provides the ideal setting, which is why we can recommend this place.

We reserved this place for my dads bday and reservation was held with no problems. Upon arriving, it is valet only for parking so BRING CASH for tip! We came in on a Friday night and it was very lively. Loud music, lots of chatter, not the best place for intimate conversation but def a vibe! Apparently, there was a party upstairs for the owners of the restaurant so we found out by the end of the night that the DJ my mom was waiting for was actually taken for upstairs :/. We got seated and our waitress was very kind but she looked VERY busy. Almost seemed like she was the only waitress but we did see another woman. After she introduced herself, she was zooming to another table and we weren't able to place our order with her until 20-30 minutes later which in no way is her fault but maybe the restaurant should consider not doing that to the poor girl. Once we finally got our orders in, our food and drinks came out in a decent amount of time. DRINKS ORDERED: drinks are strong!! Tequila mockingbird - this one was mine and wow it was delicious! It had a kick with tajin on the side and the taste was gingery and cucumbery. Refreshing and delightful! Frose w/ coconut base - This was DELICIOUS. I was really surprised. Almost tasted like a light pina colada. I would def reorder this! FOOD ORDERED: Signature burger - EXCELLENT. So their burgers are triple blend with 3 different types of meats. It was so juicy, tender, and truly melt in your mouth! Beef short rib - my dad described it as fall off the bone and he finished every last bite! Cajun Alfredo - I'm not really a big fan of peppers in my pasta but if you like that this is for you! The shrimp is also nice a big and juicy. Taste was pretty good. Crab stuffed Salmon - my friend got this and she said it was super moist and delicious! Very unique and she loved the bites with crab inside. Food is on the pricier side ranging from high $20s to 40. Drinks were ~$12-17 All in all we had a fabulous time! There was def a big crowd especially on a weekend night and I hope they hire more staff bc there was difficulty trying to get any staff's attention. Would I come back again? Yes for the drinks and food!

    So pretty inside!

I reserved a lunch spot here for Saturday noon. Upon arrival we were taken to our table right away. I was mesmerized by the stunning interior of the restaurant. The closed outdoor had the beautiful leafy decor hanging from the ceiling. The sitting area inside also had rustic wooden furnishing alongside a big bar. The menu had lots of good appetizers, burgers, salad and entrees. We started with the delicious calamari plate. Unlike other places, this dish wasn't plain, they had some cucumber and greens with it too. I got the crabby patty for entree. It was a good burger with moist soft crab cake patty. The short rib skillet was also an excellent dish. Really well flavor steak, eggs were nicely cooked. We also got the berry waffle that was fluffy and sweet, with strawberry, blueberry and whipped cream on top. We all liked all the dishes we had The service was nice. Our server was mostly on top of everything despite serving multiple tables. Other staff members were also assisting with cleaning out empty plates. Overall this was an exceptional dine-in both esthetically and food wise.

Garden and flowery decor inside the restaurant. Unique and beautiful for the dining area. Food is great. Love the calamari. The lemony dressing on top with light salad go very well with the calamari. I also had steak and egg. They were cooked beautifully. Flavorful. I wish the portion is bigger. Service is great. Friendly and helpful staff. Spacious seating. Bathroom is clean. Definitely a good place for brunch or date nights.

Met up with a friend for Happy Hour on a Friday evening. When she got there, it was pretty packed, but she was able to find us bar seating. I had the lemon drop martini ($9 - HH price) and the shot rib flatbread. The lemon drop was yummy and with the right amount of alcohol. The short rib flatbread was really good as well. The music was on point, the vibe was good. Great Friday night hangut

It may sound crazy, but I have yet to find a really good pasta spot in NJ. NYC, no problem, but I…read moredon't always want to cross the river. I think I finally found a spot where I can confidently get good pasta AND dessert. My partner and I stopped in this week, and we were immediately met with cool, industrial-style decor and a BOMB playlist. The staff was super friendly and helped a lot with specials and recommendations, as it was our first time. For drinks, we started with a Fig & Melon cocktail and their Old Fashioned. Both were great, but I think the old-fashioned wins over the Fig & Melon. It's smoky and sweet, while the F&M was citrusy and refreshing. To start, we ordered the Mozzarella Sticks Di Bar Mutz with Mutz Hot Honey & Sour Milk. Personally, I am tired of hot honey on everything, haha, so this wasn't for me. If they served it on the side first vs drizzled on top, I probably would have enjoyed it more, as the mozz sticks alone were delicious. The breading was more like a garlic bread than the traditional coating. It also comes with extra hot honey on the side. For our mains, we shared the Spicy Rig and Trottole. Again, both are really good, but the Trottole was the CLEAR winner. The short rib was rich, and the overall dish was perfect for the savory lover like me. The Spicy Rig was lighter, and the bite of pasta with basil was excellent. For dessert, we ordered the mile high espresso martini, affogato martini, which had ice cream they make in-house, and the Samoas cheesecake. Every single thing was delicious! It's a good problem to have when you're dining somewhere, and you're battling it out for who has the best dish. Can't wait to come back and bring friends!

Vibes? Good. Drinks? Ok…read more Food? I mean...I guess? It's different which IS great. Everything is expensive so I get it but it just didn't blow my bra onto the bathroom ceiling. 260 a couple and one wasn't drinking is reasonable If anything was wow...the best bite of the night was the 10.00 fresh table side bite of mozzarella...it's the one thing we've circled back to talking about over the evening. 26 of those bites would have been way cooler and delicious...which is a good idea for next time. Clams, tasty breadcrumbs. Couldn't find a clam...with both hands, it tasted good if not a little dry just didn't really get "clam" Mozzarella sticks....tasty breadcrumbs and hot honey. But no pull. Focaccia? Over well?? Dark on All sides and only ordered bc our entree was "saucy"...plot twist...it was not. Inventive with the sausage chicken cutlet but scarpiello is supposed to be spicy, sharp...this was roasted peppers on a sausage chicken cutlet with not a drop of sauce. (We shared this, decent serving but for the price you couldn't even garnish the plate?) Chicken scarpimellow maybe ? Cocktails? Tiny and just ok, nothing to write home about and a lot of "just bc you can doesn't mean you should" I want a cocktail with alcohol not molecular gastronomy in a shot glass. The espresso martini was very good, I will give them a 9 on that. The staff was the star, friendly attentive but I can't say knowledgeable because the focaccias sole purpose was for sauce that didn't exist and she didn't come back to ask so here we are with focaccia that came out before apps for an entree that didn't need it. The worst element was that at various points the restaurant was filled with an acrid smell of burning plastic or food or something and it was very off putting but it wasn't a delicious scent. Also, for the vibes and the cost the influencer in gym shorts really throws that whole mood yes society is more casual now but gym shorts aren't really appropriate at any restaurant with the same price point. I'd give it another shot in the future maybe just for cocktails and hand fed cheese.
