This is a nice little yarn shop. I didn't find the selection to be huge, and there weren't many of…read moremy favorite brands stocked there. However, I did buy a few things to support local anyway. The person behind the counter didn't speak to me hardly at all, which is something I have grown to expect at most LYS. Some friendly banter about what I'm making with the yarn or something like that, not a major thing but it made me feel a little awkward not really being spoken to whatsoever. It has a dedicated parking lot in back which is wonderful for the location. I hope to see it thrive, but I might continue going to different yarn stores that have a bit of a warmer reception.

I was just standing around my first time in with a canvas in hand and stretcher bars that I didn't know how to use. One of the staff came over and said "you look lost, come with me" and took me over to the table to check the size of the canvas and make sure that I got the right bars to fit (I didn't initially). She was very helpful, even taping the canvas and putting it on the new bars for me. I can't wait to come in again! The staff was delightful both times.

When looking at expensive appliances, one usually wants the details about performance, capabilities, accessories, maybe some comparisons. I got nothing. And there were very few models on the floor to look at - only two - and none of another maker I was interested in that Mr Vac claims to sell. I felt it was difficult to engage the salesperson and he didn't seem real interested in discussing his merchandise. A request for a business card and/or product information resulted in a pink flyer with glaring typos and a phone number written in Sharpie. I don't need fancy, but I do need competence and engagement, and I felt like I got neither. It's unlikely I'd return to this shop, when I can easily obtain more detailed info on the manufacturers' websites.

The owner rushed me and my friend (a professional fashion designer) to make snap decisions about materials--without ever asking to see my design ideas. Later, she tried to put the blame on me for not providing every single detail up front. She insulted the sundress I was wearing, treated us like we were wasting her time, and then quoted me twice the price for the same style of dress I later purchased at Brilliant Bridal North Phoenix. Whether she was intimidated by my friend's design background or simply had somewhere else to be, the message was clear: our business wasn't valued. Warning: The staff may sound warm and convincing over the phone, but the in-person reality is very different. Expect the ambience of a 1980s time capsule--fun only if you're nostalgic for that decade. The glowing reviews here are either wildly generous... or bought and paid for. If you want to be treated with respect and find a stunning gown for under $10K, I highly recommend Brilliant Bridal or Don't Box It Bridal instead.
