Grilled pork chops with hashbrown casserole was very good. Burgers great. Service quick and friendly. Ask for recommendations or daily specials.

Not the worst plate of food, but could win an "Unspectacular" award. Chicken was passable, greens almost passable, fries undercooked and unseasoned, and cornbread dry. Remember when "home cooking" meant it was going to be good?

Chicken tenders with honey mustard, Squash Casserole, collard greens and cornbread.

Amazing food! Definitely worth checking out this cafe if you find yourself in the area. We sat outside with our two dogs. I had the fried green tomatoes which were excellent and chicken strips which were fried perfectly and had a homemade honey mustard dipping sauce which was divine. The sides that I recommend are the squash casserole and the collard greens. And of course I had to order a slice of Buttermilk pie. Southern Living was right because It was the best pie I've ever had in my life! I decided to order a whole pie and take it home for Thanksgiving and my family raves about it.

Thought I'd try this place seeming that it was busy. I ordered unsweetened tea but they gave me sweet tea I ordered the chopped steak which is basically Salisbury steak. I picked Mac n cheese and green beans as my sides. The chopped steak was tender and flavorful. The green beans were also great with a buttery flavor and perfect texture. As busy as this place is I assumed their Mac n Cheese would be awesome, but to my disappointment it lacked flavor and was dry I have to that the staff is absolutely awesome!!! I'll try them again but next time I think I'll get just a burger you can't beat the hospitality that's for

Delicious food - fried fish for me and pork chop for my boo! Couldn't stop raving about the food and cute little town...

Food and southern hospitality was spot on. Can't say enough good things about this restaurant!! Look forward to our return!

Get the Buttermilk Custard Pie. If you leave without trying this it's like missing out on one of the Top 1,000 places to visit before you die. Friendly, comfortable atmosphere.

Half way between Atlanta and Augusta and never disappoints. Good food and service. Check out the old jailhouse across the street too.

Your hours state until 9:00 PM on Saturdays. How disappointing that it isn't 8:30 PM and you are closed. Smh.

Came back for Brunch and to pick up some wine we'd purchased at a previous event. Summary Update:…read moreYou can't go wrong! Started out with a couple drinks (brunch, duh!). Breakfast Martini comprised of gin, lemon, and citrus marmalade and you better be ready, it was definitely 'spirit forward' and a good way to kick off a heart brunch! I opted for the Expresso Martini, and it was perhaps the best I've had; and I've had a few. ;) Main Lobster and Biscuits and my go-to Short Rib Smash Burger will never ever lead you wrong! The Lobster dish is served over 2 cheddar-rosemary biscuits spit in half with lobster and all of it covered with lobster gravy and bacon. Really well done. While there wasn't enough lobster to cover all the biscuits (that's a lot of biscuit to cover) there was enough, and what you realize is the biscuits on their own are out of this world, especially with the lobster gravy. However, if you were smart enough to order the Roasted Sweet Potato you realize those 'extra' biscuits are the perfect vessel to carry all that Sweet Potato aioili goodness to your watering mouth! All of it is seriously heaven on a plate! While we passed on dessert we did opt to share a Bloody Mary. One of us is a spice monger; and I much less so (ok, fine, I'm a spice wimp) they were gracious enough to split the drink and bring a bottle of their home-made hot sauce so we could both enjoy the drink to our liking. The bloody mary was really good, and I even added a couple drops (versus shaking and shaking it in like my other half) and it was really good; great flavor and enough heat I could tell it was there. So I know that owners were out of town but you need to know they've built a staff from front to back that is exceptional at what they do whether the boss is there or not. Such great service, clearly details matter, and I couldn't ask for anything more. I find it truly an outstanding experience that leaves me smiling, happy to experience, and never hungry as I walk out the door!

Nice steakhouse menu, no surprises..all the regulars are there. Opted for the ribeye. All of their steaks come with a choice of potato and the rest of the sides are à la cart. Service was a bit slow but good. Kind of on the smaller side on the interior, but I liked that. Still felt like I had plenty of room with my party. Paid about $330 for party of 5. Everyone enjoyed their meal.

Slaters is insane. So so good and even better than the last time I came…read more Ambiance: very nice interior and feels like a classic steakhouse with some UGA flair. Service: The service was amazing. My server Madison was so sweet to us for graduation and made sure we were well taken care of. When I got the baked Alaska for dessert she redid the flambé because she felt like it wasn't as good as she hoped. I felt like that was over the top great customer service. I also never had to ask for water as the waitstaff always made sure we were topped off. Food: The steaks were fantastic. We got the filet with fries, ribeye with mashed potatoes, rolls, and Brussels sprouts. Steaks were excellent of course and rolls were so soft and fluffy. When I came a year and a half ago, I thought the mashed potatoes were way too buttery and the duck fat Brussels sprouts were way too meaty. This time around the mashed potatoes were perfect and the Brussels sprouts recipe is new as it is a balsamic reduction with Parmesan which were fantastic. Overall this was a great dining experience but definitely a place to come on a nicer occasion or celebration due to price. My entire experience was 10/10 and so sad to be graduating because I don't know the next time I'll be back to Slaters.
