It reminded me of the famed Opera House in Australia, except that this one is at a crossroad, not near any sort of water body, and much closer to home in US !  Kansas , Missouri has been historically known for its jazz, classical music and theatre. It has this typical theatrical staging for an auditorium with all the seats facing the same way towards the stage, which is framed by an arch- this setting also has a fancy name - its called  Proscenium Arch ( pruh-see-ni-um - I had to ask google how to pronounce it ...lol)It is a non-profit theatre !!!!  Wow! Built to promote dance, opera, music , it is perfect for the city to live up to its reputation of being widely recognized destination for vibrant and colorful arts. It has two big halls interconnected with a foyer, its simply impressively massive and absolutely stunning architecture.  I read from the brochure that Acoustical considerations factored into every architectural decision of the building, right from the shape of the hall to the grain of the wood paneling. And also that it seats 1600 guests at a time. Located at the heart of downtown Kansas on 16th and Broadway, it is near the  city's Power & Light District, the T-Mobile Center and the Crossroads Arts District with plenty of parking within, but if you don't want to get stuck after a performance, it is better to take a cab here.

One on one street dance battle where the crowd decides who's the winner, red or blue, with wands that were handed out, narrowing the competition down to the final two. The things one does to be able to spend the day with their Mother. Over the weekend, I attend a…read moreshow here with my mother and her Church Lady Friends called 'First Ladies of Country'. Now, I am not a Country fan, but my mother is and growing up in a household listening to Country I knew any of the songs, and acts that were performed. I will admit I do love me some Patsy Cline. I didn't really consider her a Country artist, but to each their own. The 3 main tributes were Patsy Cline, Loretta Lynn, and Dolly Parton. The show was performed by 3 main stage Ladies who did most of the Cover songs either as a solo or all together. They had a band that consisted of a piano, bass guitar, steel guitar, and a percussionist. They were great, they clearly practice, and put a lot of time and effort in perfecting their craft. Now I will admit I don't know how much the tickets cost for the show, my mother bought them. But I do know that she is a season ticket holder and stated they were reasonable prices. I know she enjoys doing these things with her friends. The area was somewhat small, but really there wasn't a bad seat in the house, which was mentioned many times when I was there. The parking area felt even smaller. Good thing the church ladies carpool. They recommended pulling in backwards to the parking spot, as it is easier when exiting the small lot. There is a small concession area I believe for during intermissions. I enjoyed myself, but mostly so I could spend the time with my mom while visiting. Would I go again? Only if she wanted me too, but otherwise no. I felt out of place, and it just wasn't something I would normally go see. Was it great for the majority of the age group, YES, did they have a blast, YES, will they be returning, HECK YES. Thank you to the staff and performers for a great show, even if it wasn't my cup of tea.

There was no question that I'd even need to shop around for a better deal or experience. Mike was top notch professional, knowledgeable, and accommodating. On the big day, he quickly set up the equipment, played an additional memory slideshow and music, and made a bunch of our neighborhood kiddos weeks with his popcorn machine. The sound quality and screen quality was perfect, even as a Christopher Nolan film usually demands an IMAX. For all future movie set ups for our family and probably our neighborhood, we'll be using Backyard Box Office KC

We connected with Michael about hosting a movie night for our volunteers and staff at the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts, and he immediately responded to our request and scheduled a time for a site visit. From our first interaction, he was friendly, genuine, on time, and communicative without fail. He has immense knowledge about his industry & equipment and has an impressive arsenal of processes in place so that his team is ready for anything. We had to postpone our first date due to weather, and Michael was in communication with us the whole time we were working to reschedule. We even had a hiccup with our planned site the night of our rescheduled event, and he and his team pivoted their entire set-up process like it was nothing. As a person in the events industry, I cannot say enough about their unwaveringly calm demeanor and creative problem solving. The night of the event, they arrived with plenty of time to set up the screen, sound system, lights, and popcorn machine. Everything was set up on time and looked organized. The screen was bright and displayed the picture beautifully, and the sound system was top notch. Michael and his team worked tirelessly to make our event seamless so that our staff could enjoy the event as well, and they thought of every little thing. They were prepared for anything & the pinnacle of professionalism, and I cannot wait to work with them again!
