Went to see new Spideman movie less than a week after opening and they had no cups or popcorn buckets to match movie. They also had no nachos! I paid $9 for a STYROFOAM cup and none of the soda tasted right so I asked to exchange it for a slushie. They expected me to pay another $9 for that cup. I made them use my first cup as it was bigger and they acted like it was coming out of their paycheck. I would not recommend this location and I won't be going back to it. read more

This is our go to movie theater, mostly because of the comfortable reclining chairs. I like the set up of the theaters. Post covid, all the theaters seem to be struggling with upkeep and staffing and B&B is no different. The chairs are wearing and there's often not enough staff. I show up and the manger are standing up at the concession stand very loudly talking about an unsatisfying event. As I asked about the kitchen no of the manger intervene say the kitchen wasn't even open. When she wasn't apart of the conversation between myself or the cashier. As I was walking over to the soda machine to get my drink there is mold around the bottom of the ice machine and the water drop into my cup as I was walking around to put my drink on the counter to put my lid on. Instead of standing around and complaining the manager could be attending to the puddle I also slipped in by the soda machine instead of eavesdropping into my conversation at the front. B&B even offers adult drinky drinks should you need a little extra help making it through the show. If you'd like to visit the moviehouse on a more frequent basis, then I highly recommend setting up an account with their Backstage Pass rewards program. Just a few visits provides nice returns in the form of perks & discounts. B&B has plenty of locations locally, whether in the 'burbs or in the city, and you can visit any of them. Wanted to see this movie was very excited. The booking process was easy online the ticket was purchased. The total was $40.00. The movie theater service was great. The food was hot and fresh. The order consisted of a cheeseburger and chicken tenders with fries. We was awesome. The theater was very clean. I came to this theatre under the impression that it was a family oriented and kid friendly theatre. Do NOT come here with children. We paid for tickets to see LILO and Stitch. My autistic daughter, and two sons were not allowed to play on the playground inside the theatre as advertised. The staff couldn't provide a proper and thorough explanation as to my kids had to be removed. You will be ostracized by the staff and taunted by childless families for utilizing the facilities as advertised. I will never come again. Leaving a great review because of the helpful nature of the manager on duty today. I booked tickets for a 3:45 show for what I thought was the Shawnee location. Somehow, in the app, they let you scroll other locations even if you specify one. I accidentally bought tickets for the OP location. For some reason the person scanning our tickets let us into Shawnee and we got drinks and popcorn before we realized the mistake. It had been a while since I have been to the movies and this was my first time at a b and b theater. I was really impressed at how nice the staff was and how clean it was. Went to this theatre for a 5:30 movie that was on their website and on their board but was told it wasn't playing. Was given no explanation or apology and when I asked for more information the person just told me "I don't know - I just got here". So then I bought tickets for the 8'oclock showing of the same movie. When I returned at 8 and sat down the screen was blank. Also my seat wouldn't recline and the heater wasn't working in that theatre and it was freezing. Around 8:08 someone went to complain that nothing was on the screen and it wasn't until 8:15 that the screen finally illuminated. We then sat there as they fast forwarded through the previews, lmao. Honestly savage af. THEN the movie finally started and there was some problem with the screen - a sort of liquid / ripple effect that persisted through the whole movie. Psychedelic and kinda sick honestly, but also insane. I've never written a yelp review before but I'm making an exception as this was, by far, the worst experience I've ever had at a theatre. I'm grateful for all experiences. When you think about how crazy it is to be alive at all at this moment in time it is nearly impossible to wrap your mind around. All of life is a miracle and all of life is beautiful. Also, FWIW, at one point when I went to go pee in the bathroom there was an old man in there peeing with his pants all the way down and I could see his bare @$$. Go off king. B&B did a good job rejuvenating this old theater. I had written it off when it was under the previous ownership. But B&B did more than just a lipstick job here. They have the most comfy recliners in every theater with lots of room in the aisles. Reserved seating, which has become my new favorite way to go to the movies. The screens are huge. They have a grill in the lobby with a nice menu and mixed drinks. Thankfully they don't do the dine in the theater thing. Whose idea was it to send waiters into the theater during the movie? I brought my 4 year old to try out Screen Play. He absolutely loves this concept and enjoyed every second. However, being an adult and seeing things from my point of view, there was trash all over the parking lot, trash receptacles were overflowing. The theater didn't seem to have been cleaned in a very long time. The floor needed swept, there was trash and food from previous showings. Socks left from other kids, etc. For me and a 4 year old to have ONE drink, ONE popcorn and a small thing of fruit snacks, plus our tickets, I paid over $50 for a 9:30 am showing. I don't think we'll return. It's a neat concept but not maintained. No one else was in the movie with us and maybe this is why.. read more

I had not been to this theatre in several years but a movie I really wanted to see was playing here so I had no choice but to drove from Lawrence. Quite the fancy and lovely theatre. For starters the cement outside the theatre is sprinkled with shiny, glittery stars. It is such a visual delight that it starts your visit off right. You just feel like you are being transported by diamonds into the theatre. The customer service staff was very pleasant and answered my unending questions. This process was all simple enough. You get to pick your own reclining seats and that is never a bad thing. The concession stand is extensive. They have pizzas and all sorts of other fare. They even serve alcohol. The popcorn is a self serve setup. You get the popcorn and they let you put your own butter and seasonings. I love this feature, they also have free refills on soda and popcorn. They also have a fee stand drink machine thingy where you can mix your own soda variety. Love the free stand drink stations. The seats are so comfortable and the reclining feature are first rate. The sound system is amazing, too. There do not seem to be any bad seats in the theatre. They did not super crowd seats into this venue. They seats are carefully placed and you have a great sight line for all seats. One feature I love is that there seem to be enough bathrooms that you don't have to go far if you are in the movies and need to potty. Lol. Also, parking and access was easy. It also seems to be a safe venue for those attending alone. All in all, a great venue. Super nice staff, nice amenities and easy access. Well done! read more

The kiosks at the front didn't work to purchase tickets, the popcorn was the most stale and bland and awful thing I've ever tasted- not remotely hot or fresh, every single recliner seat in our theatre squeaked the entire time it was moving up or down so everyone heard every other person moving throughout the movie, and all the lights were off in the bathrooms after the movie, even though there were still other movies on and playing!! Someone maintain this place!! The seats were at least comfortable and the one staff person we bought our tickets and popcorn from at concessions before the movie was incredibly nice- I hope they are getting paid well from the overpriced movie tickets. read more

Went to see Wicked tonight. Buying tickets, simple. Lines for snacks, busy but not too bad. Still amazes me that 1 soda and 2 bags of candy is $28 but it's the experience right? Movie theater was clean and comfortable. However, after the show, we stopped to use the restrooms. Disgusting!! The ladies room had what I hope was a water leak and not urine, making it difficult to avoid stepping in it while using the toilet in several stalls. The counter was very unclean as the trash bins were overflowing. The men's room .... The aroma of pee hits you like a wall as you walk in. Trash on the floor here too. When we went to report this to the counter, they said " yes we're aware. We already have plans to fix next week". We then explained no, your bathrooms need immediate attention and explained again some of the issues. If you're advertising as a 5th generation business then maybe a little more attention to these high traffic areas should be maintained. Disappointing to spend $60 and be disgusted and needing to wash shoes before getting into our cars. read more

Just spent 70$ for tickets online ( with a 10$ service charge) with 3 kids to see Trolls for the 4:30 showing. Had to wait 15 min in line to get concessions because only had one teenager was working the area and everyone had to buy tickets at the concessions since no one else was working. Terrible service! My first time here and I was impressed. Very clean, nice comfortable reclining seats, super nice staff. Only drawback is that they have Pepsi products, not Coke, but that's not a knock on them it's just my personal preference. I remember when this used to be another theater about 20 years ago. Ugh, where do I start...? Well first I actually prefer giving good reviews but this one is not one of them. We went to B&B to see Sing 2 on NY Eve, $50 for me and my family. When we walked in there was popcorn all over the floor, not in the theater but the main entrance. We paid $20 for drinks and there was no ice in the machines. Felt like a dollar-theater in the 90's, not even close to AMC quality. We got there 25 minutes early, and the theater was not marked and there was no picture and no sound in the theater until a few minutes before the actual movie started (theater number 4, FYI). I actually went and talked to an employee about the lack of ambiance and she said "yeah we know the sound doesn't work." When the movie started the sound quality throughout was not good at all... Sing 2 is a borderline musical so the bad sound showed... All trashcans were over flowing. The bathroom had not been serviced, no towels and no soap. I don't think any of the employees gave a rip about the place. The ONLY good part about this theater was the reclining seats... not worth it however. See you soon, AMC read more

The ticket counter isn't staffed and you have to get tickets at the concession stand - even though there are plenty of employees just standing around. The person who took our tickets and got our popcorn and drinks was not super welcoming or friendly. When I asked for butter for the popcorn, he very dryly said "self serve" and then stared at me. So I took our concessions and started to walk away when I got the most lackluster "have a magical movie experience". The butter came out super slow and there was no salt. The cups are oily, but the drink options are stylish. Sounds like management is trying, but the employees aren't getting it. The seats are recliner seats, but ours were malfunctioning (row F if anyone cares). We moved over to new seats and they were bad too. They had metal sticking out of the seat back area and the headrest did not recline with the seats and the seat reclined crooked. The bathroom was not well kept. The trash was overflowing and the bathroom looks like it's under construction without any signs. There are holes in the urinal wall and it smelled terrible. The sound and picture quality in the movie was great, but, sadly, that was the only thing I liked. This place has the outside look of an old time theatre that had charm at some point, however the charm is long gone. Before the film, there is a special greeting from the family that owns the theater chain. I wish the family would come to this location and experience how underwhelming it is. You are trying too hard to be AMC, but you are failing. To be honest though, be better than AMC. AMC has fallen down on service, making everything self serve. If you want charm, ditch self-service. This is a pretty cool theater on the west edge of town. Its claims to fame are that you can not only reserve your seats, but your seats are also fully padded recliners. Those recliners are nice and comfy plus there is enough room in the row that if somebody needs to leave for a restroom break or more concessions, you don't have to move your chair to let them through. The sight lines are good too. You don't have to worry about missing anything if you choose to recline. We did have some small issues with getting our tickets off of the app. I did not buy the tickets and I also am unsure which app was used, so I will concede this may not be the theater's fault could have been a third party app and / or user error. Regardless, the local staff was quite helpful and after a few frantic moments we were on our way. Unfortunately, I don't visit this theater often because I don't live close, but I would highly recommend for those of you in the area. I think you will enjoy your experience. read more

This theater had a facelift not long ago, the seats are much much better than they used to be. Some of the new seats are broken and one of the self-ticketing kiosks was down which caused quite a line on a Saturday night. This theater recently was renovated and known as Westglen Theaters back when I was living in Shawnee, KS a few years ago. They now changed it to B&B Theaters 18 around October 2016. It is a nice renovation with the reclining seats and the updated concession stands. They also have a bar at the concession stand to order alcoholic drinks for the movie. I usually come here for free movie screenings. The experience is always nice. Tickets are a little pricey, for adult it's about $10, for kids it's $7.50, and for senior citizens it's $8.70. I wouldn't mind coming here to see a movie for regular price occasionally since I have family who lives nearby the theater. read more

The theater was nice, concessions were ok, we were there for a matinee so the bar wasn't open but it looked like a good option for a later show. When we bought tickets we missed that it was an MX4D showing. We've never experienced an MX4D movie before and we'll never do it again. Love love love this theater! It is so nice having a great movie theater in the Lenexa and Shawnee area. The employees are always nice and knowledgeable. The ticket kiosks and online ordering make getting tickets a BREEZE. The remodel is definitely paid off. We saw 'Wonder Woman' at another local theater yesterday. As I sat in my tiny uncomfortable seat, with a large man next to me spilling into my space, I thought, "I'm never going to see a movie anywhere but B&B again!" I LOVE being able to choose seats ahead of time, and the roomie, comfy, reclining seats are fantastic! B&B also has a GREAT rewards program. I am often getting discounts on tickets and on concessions. I still haven't seen anything on the Grand Screen, but the hubs has, and he said he wants to see Wonder Woman again at B&B for a better experience and a bigger screen. B&B Shawnee has become our theater of convenience. Remodeled a couple years ago, each theater has recliners - super comfortable recliners at that! Everything feels modern and updated. Their concession prices are right in line with the other chain theaters around Johnson County. We enjoy coming here on weekdays to avoid crowds. We've not been in the "Grand Screen" theater, so I can't speak to that, but we did recently see "Avengers: Endgame" in their MX-4D theater. I was disappointed to learn that 4D didn't include 3D viewing - it's more like a theme park ride than anything, which was kind of distracting, to be honest. I can see the appeal, but it's not something I'd do again anytime soon. They also have theaters specifically designed for little ones - a theater with a playground right at the front, so that the kiddos can burn off some of that pre-show adrenaline! I'm sure that's a godsend to some parents. We enjoy B&B, and that they are very community involved. They partner with Variety KC to benefit kids in need. The company started in Missouri, and seems to be concentrated around the greater KC area. Proud to support a local company that gives back! read more
