    Peter Pan!!!

My family and I love this little theatre. I have been going on my own or with friends sporadically for several years and have enjoyed every show I've seen. My favorite was probably Pride and Please, but the reading of Peter Pan was amazing. They might be equally my favorite. Once my Spawn started participating in the summer camp a few years ago we are there once a quarter if not more to attend a show or one of my spawn is participating in the show in some way. Over the summer one of us is there daily! We often eat at one of the restaurants near by and make a full day of it. Linner (think brunch, but later), Show, Dessert! Spawn #1 has enjoyed being a camp counselor, stage manager, and helping out in anyway possible for camp, Jr. shows and regular season shows. Spawn #2 has enjoyed 3 sessions of summer camp and participating in a Jr. show. The Education Director, Ron, is amazing. Based on everything I've seen, he truly loves what he does. He cares for the kids and brings so much joy into a room. My Spawn ADORE him. If Rob is involved and my Spawn want to participate I would not hesitate to let them.

    Here we go again!!!! #abbalover

I had the privilege to attend a show from a friend who was volunteering. As I had not even heard of the show or ever attended the theatre I looked forward to seeing the play as it was about our History. As I walked in everyone was friendly in the lobby. The house it self was a bit narrow but long. The stage set up reminded me that of Hamilton and that excited me. The seats seemed a bit cozy especially for those of us who are a bit larger than usual so I moved to the back a bit. They do offer a concession stand with drinks. The play I could tell took dedication of the ones who took a part as the lines were challenging but it was riveting. I have always been a fan of community theatre and that is why I love Jacksonville and I found the location of this theatre was nice as it was close to a Starbucks and a lot of places to eat. I would defiantly like to return again.

I have been this this venue twice this year and enjoyed each visit. I went earlier to see Peter Pan and most recently for Someone Rotten. The theater itself is a little dated but it also helps add to the charm. The worst part is that parking in San Marco is a nightmare. I've tried getting there an hour and a half before the show time and still had trouble finding parking.

Community theater at its finest! I had the privelage to volunteer as a Assistant Costume Designer for the Little Mermaid production this past season. I was absolutely amazed at the level of commitment and professionalism everyone brought to the table. The time and dedication it takes to put on such a major production was certainly noticeable, when I got to enjoy the opening night. The music and dancing were phenomenal , and the actor were both talented and funny. I was instantly swept under the sea and taken back to my childhood when watching them all perform on stage... Not to mention how AWESOME, CREATIVE, DRAMATIC, and simply MAGNIFICENT the costumes were. ( Yes I am a little bias here.. But trust me this is no understatement!) I love the location of this theater. It perfectly tucked at the end of San Marco square. (Not to be confused with the San Marco theater.) You can enjoy an nice meal before their plays and a quick cocktail afterward. And everything is in perfect walking distance. I would highly recommend you check out the next play. You would be totally amazed and completely enjoy the night.

From row 2, but really no bad seats here.

Great little community theatre, the staff was great and there really is no bad seat overall for a viewing experience. there is no parking so you will need to plan for that aspect for the area businesses has a lot of posted no parking signs around. should note there was no food or drink service. we saw Samuel j Comre and he was awesome!! we would gladly go back to see him or other comedians.

Great venue and even better performance. The cast was awesome and the costumes really bought the characters to life. I'll definitely continue supporting the arts in San Marco!!!!

We were told about remodeling that will start soon (one reason...bigger seats...lol). Tonight we heard "the music of Elton John featuring Michael Cavanaugh" with his 4 member band; the conductor Matthew Wardell. It was entertaining and Michael could REALLY play that piano! Maybe it is why he was the working with Billy Joel (THE piano man) before. Michael's singing of Elton songs reminded how phenomenal Elton really is; hard to imitate. Being backed by symphony all the songs were wonderful !

We bought the Broadway series, which is typically 5 to 6 plays per year and if you renew your seats every year you get the same seats. You have the option to change your seats the following year if you're not happy with the seats that you have. Believe it or not we've been a VIP don't remember for two years and we've never went to the VIP lounge because we weren't even aware of it. So I can't speak about the food in there and we've never had any food outside of coffee and once we got Cookies and they were both very good. The service and staff is extremely friendly and helpful. It's a very nice small venue so pretty much most of the seats are a good view. The only thing went crazy about is their location for the parking that's included when you buy your tickets as part of the package. I wish they had a valet option or something right across the street available included in the Broadway series package. Of course you can always just pay for your own seats and not get the seating but we like to know we're guaranteed a parking spot because it's about a 45 minute drive from our house. This will be the third year in a row for us here and we really like it

My go to is tomato bisque soup and the gourmet grilled cheese. The Cobb salads are delicious too -- and a signature dish is Shrimp & Grits. The exhibits are excellent and the displays highlight the work. Self-guided tours are no problem - as many placards provide insights. The grounds - simply beautiful. Definitely recommend a visit!

The vendor I bought from told me that it was free that day to go into the museum and Gardens so my family and I decided to look at the beautiful garden to welcome spring. Sadly, we didn't have time to explore the inside of the museum, but that will be for next time. The garden is absolutely stunning and breathtaking with a plethora of colors and the river in the back it's just so pretty. I loved how you could just walk around and see the different parts of the garden and then stand by the river as well. They had super unique flowers. I especially loved the ones that looked like little red lanterns and I loved all the beautiful trees. I was so happy to come here and I loved that they had a little plant market that drew you in to come and actually check out the garden. I can't wait to go back and explore the museum and make a whole day out of it. You definitely need to add this to your list if you haven't gone yet.

It took 30-40 minutes to get in. Staff were friendly though and pretty accommodating. The building, an old theater, is set up well for these types of concerts. They have balcony seating which cost extra. The floor was all GA and has two levels. There is railing separating different areas which seemed to provide sufficient crowd control. There was a bar with lots of bar tenders in the back. A miller lite was $10. Not sure if that price is to be blamed on the venue or the event folks. The bathrooms were surprisingly clean and well-stocked. The sinks had hot water. The merch tables were set up outside the bathrooms. You take stairs to get to the GA area. There is a cargo lift next to them which I assume doubles as a wheelchair lift. All in all, I had a good experience. My advice to anyone attending a show here is (1) arrive early and (2) pregame at one of the bars across the street so you don't end up paying $10 for a cheap beer.

You feel as if you're about to be whisked away on a grand adventure with the wind through your hair as you stand upon the tall ship! "Starry Nights" with the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra is one of the most unique events Jacksonville puts on. Picnics are one of my FAVORITE activities and when it's paired with an concert under a navy sky of stars---you have a winning combination guaranteed to cement a special memory. My first Starry Nights concert was in 2003. The Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra played crowd favorites such as Rhapsody in Blue, The Harry Potter theme, Star Wars, and ended the concert with an explosive finale! Fireworks accompanied the 1812 Overture and it was a glorious sight! While the concert used to be free to attend when it was sponsored by Winn-Dixie, this year it was still quite affordable at $15 for lawn seating. Private tables closer to the stage start around $250. While picnic baskets were encouraged, there were also food trucks as well as a gourmet basket you could pre-order from Biscotti's to pick up at the park. No outside alcohol was allowed but wine by the glass or the bottle was for sale as well as ample choices of canned beer from both Intuition Ale Works and Bold City Brewery. While Starry Nights is a great experience, it's not a guaranteed one *every year.* This is the first concert since 2010. There was a hiatus in Starry Nights when the partnership between Winn-Dixie and Starry Nights ended. It began again in 2010 with Idina Menzel of the "Frozen" fame. The Tony award winner wowed audiences with her goose bump inciting performance of "Defying Gravity" from the Broadway hit Wicked. While her voice was heavenly it was quite obvious to EVERYONE in attendance that she was quite intoxicated and there were quite a lot of awkward anecdotes as she rambled inappropriate personal stories between songs. In 2011 The Four Tops were set to front line Starry Nights, but unfortunately the show was canceled due to low ticket sales. We haven't had a concert since 2010 with Styx and Idina Menzel until THIS year with two separate concerts. Last Saturday, Chicago rocked out and had many songs to choose from their 36 albums! The crowd went especially wild at their last song, "25 or 6 to 4." In all the years I've gone to Starry Nights I've NEVER seen the outdoor lawn so PACKED with eager fans! Everyone was on their feet and cheering for the famous "rock band with a horn section." There is still ONE more chance to see Starry Night this year! Christopher Cross will be playing alongside the JSO this coming Friday. Grab your picnic blanket and GO!
