I then flew to Houston and toured the place and the facility was very clean and the staff was very friendly. TJ, the manager (is a gem) has been so nice to work with, extremely helpful and gives me updates on my father (I am in a different state). Every time I talk to my father he tells me that everyone is very helpful and very nice to him! I was given the name of Good Living Community Care by a placement company (sorry can't remember who but she was great too!) After 2 full months here at GLCC Mom has not been sick ONCE! The other $8500/mo. nursing home she was in the emergency room 3 times. Mom is happy and healthy and lucid finally. the Manager, Monica, is a real gem and God send. Everyone at this very personal care facility is helpful, accommodating to the point of unbelievable and just as sweet as can be. Wanni, the Asst Mgr, (def not spelled right) is absolutely fabulous, keeps Mom company, interacts a lot with her and makes her laugh. SO GOOD TO SEE! They even have a wonderful stylist who comes to make Mom feel beautiful, Iris Giron, washing, cutting her hair and doing Moms nails and she's very affordable. Speaking of which for all this personal care I pay less than 1/2 of what I was paying at the nursing home. Maritime Pharmacy, takes care of all Moms meds, they have a RN visit as needed and a physical therapist 2x's a week. I could go on and on about how wonderful this place is!

I had the unfortunate pleasure of working with Bayou City Hospice and EVERY single worker (CNA, Nurse, Adminstrative Representative etc.) we encountered exuded an impeccable level of genuine care, thoughtfulness, and empathy that made the level of sadness/mourning that my family experienced (daily) while participating in at home hospice, just a little bit more bearable. The training that each worker experienced as it pertains to bedside manner and just seeing a patient and a patient's loved ones was evident with every encounter. It is clear that they instill in their workers the importance of tenderness, thoughtfulness, and care in a very effective manner. I hope to never need to need hospice care again, but if I had to, I would definitely start with Bayou City Hospice.

I had foot surgery and needed help. She iced my foot, fix lunch, help with my laundry. She took me shopping for items I needed and I got dizzy but she was there in a second and sat me on a box while she got a wheelchair. She took me to doctors appts., pharmacy, labs. They were professional, kind, and extremely knowledgeable about my mom's condition. After just a 10-day stay, she was like a completely different person -- healthier, and more herself again. The only reason I'm not giving five stars is because of the case manager and her director. Unfortunately, they lacked compassion and didn't seem interested in meaningful communication. It's unclear what their roles in "case management" actually involved, as they were dismissive and unhelpful. If you ask questions or try to advocate for your loved one, they may shut down communication entirely. They gave no direction upon discharge. No meeting. Nothing. Extremely unprofessional Thankfully, the incredible care team far outweighed this disappointing aspect. We're deeply grateful for the impact they had on my mom's recovery.

The worst place to have your loved one at. Some of the…read morenurses don't care on how your loved one is they don't check up on them if you call they take forever to come check up on them me and my family had told them my dad couldn't eat on his own they didn't care they just went in to the room leave the plate and leave, today the nurse taking care of him I had called for him to get cleaned out she said she couldn't do it because she was passing breakfast she told him to eat and after she was going to clean him I called once he was done she came in with an attitude didn't say a word changed him and left. He had physical therapy come by today they took him brought him back next thing you know the nurse comes all mad shaking her head saying they told her something because he's not at dialysis when it's her job to take him, after he got back she put him in bed crushed his feet and didn't even say sorry after that she dumped the pee from his catheter spilling a lot on the floor and than she left, I called her back she come in raising her hands with an attitude asking what we want that she was coming back I asked her to heat up his lunch she left slammed the door came back the food is cold she left again once again slamming the door mind you almost all her shift she has been using her headphones blasting music loud that even I can hear it with the tv on, I also asked her for her name she didn't say it she had it covered so I wasn't able to get it. Another thing my dad uses oxygen and it's the third time they take it of and don't put it back on I've been doing it. There was another time where I saw this guy nurse taking him to get his dialysis they pick him up with a machine since he can't get up on his own he told my dad to hold on the bars and once he was in the chair to get the dialysis his arm was stuck in between the bars and the guy told my dad that why was he holding on to it and that's when I told him he had told him to hold on from there and he just laughed than he asked me if I speak both English and Spanish and I said yes and I told him I understand both maybe he thought I didn't
