We wanted to try the Tomahawk but it wasn't on the menu so we decided to do steak on another day. To drink we ordered the apple cider. The cider was delicious and very crispy like I was eating a Cortland apple. We were served crispy bread with herb butter. The bread was crispy like toast and the butter was soft. It came with a small jar of baby dill pickles. They had a good crunch! We started with the lobster bisque. This bisque was very tasty. We could taste the lobster and it was very light; not a heavy or overly creamy soup. Pooh ordered the seafood risotto and I took the Dijon chicken. Both dishes were amazing. Pooh really enjoyed his risotto. He likes the addition of zucchini to give it a little crunch . The seafood was cooked to perfection. My chicken was super tender. I could taste the Dijon mustard. The mashed potatoes were smooth and the green beans were crispy and cooked perfectly. Our server was very polite and checked on us regularly. He apologized for not getting the wine when our meal arrived. Our only complaint was the wine. Usually the wine arrives right before the meal but our meal arrived first and we ate slowly as we waited for the wine to come. The wine arrived five minutes later and the server explained that it wasn't cold enough to give us. By the time I finished eating (because we had to wait for the wine) my potatoes were cold. We finished our evening with dessert. I had the lemon-in-a-jar and Pooh had the Crème brûlée. Pooh's crème brûlée was perfect. My lemon dessert was too sweet. The tartness of the lemon was overpowered by the sweetness of the almond crumble We enjoyed our meal and the service was excellent but they need to put the white wine in a cooler sooner.

I order a salmon meal. The salmon was tasteless but thankfully the sauce helped it. The mocktail was good. They had quite good amount of people there on a Sunday but definitely had open tables if I wanted to sit at a two seater but they suggested I go to the bar which is huge, but no one else was sitting there. Overall an okay spot, nice inside, my one dish was mediocre but not sure what the other dishes taste like.

Overall: A // 5 stars…read more Cozy restaurant with a kitchenside bar, focusing on farm to table small plates centered around clever usage of vegetables to make stunning dishes. I found the cuisine to be vibrant and healthful, with bright and energizing flavors that were well executed overall. The staff are knowledgable about the menu and dish conception, and generally pleasant and friendly to converse with. (Jacqual: B) - Simply presented drink that features hibiscus and citrus with zero proof beer, which I found fascinating. The beer notes are in the background prevailed by the sourness of the other components, where I wish there was a little more added sweetness. (Fried Maitake: A) - Perfectly seasoned dish with tender and high surface area mushrooms coated in an impressly crisp batter given the moisture usually found in mushrooms. The seasoning could not be better with the salt and spice combo; the chive and parsley mayo also add an herbaceous depth of flavor. (Heirloom Tomatoes: A) - Pefectly plated tomatoes with a surprising sunflower seed forward profile given the subtleness of the ingredient; the dish is well balanced and brings out the harmonious flavors of the garden, although I think the bites with flake salt had that even more perfect note. (Hanger Steak: A+) - Beautifully perfected cut of beef with Asian inspiration; the steak is juicily pink with a charred exterior; the carrot ginger puree has a lovely mild and lingering spice, with some additional spice coming from the shishito and the pickled jalapeno. Beautiful dish. (Peach Sorbet: C) - Flavorally pleasant dessert with peach three ways and a nut crumble to add crunch; the sorbet was very hard though and could have benefitted from spirits in the churning process. We started with two apps Chevre chaud poire pochee and Ris de veau croustillant. Chevre chaud is a little cheese pattie with warm cheese it was served on a little bit of salad. Ris de veau is 3 piece of fried calf. If you want to share your app I would go with the Chevre chaud. I thought the portion for Ris de veau was a little small. Right about now I noticed that everyone around us was getting some warm bread with butter. I looked at the menu to try and see if that was something we needed to order as an app. I did not see it on the menu so I assume it's just given as your app while you wait for your dinner. I got the beef tartar as my main dish. You have the option of picking between a garden salad or fries to go with it. I went with the fries. They are served with some mayo, just like I like it. The beef chart was delicious. Portion are good. This might also be an option if you want to share an app. It comes in two sizes, I got the bigger one. For dessert, I picked a crème brûlée with a cheese platter . Crème brûlée comes with a lovely crust , which I honestly enjoyed quite a lot. It is a very thin layer of crème brûlée with a thicker than usual sugar crust. The cheese platter came with three very small piece some bread and a jam. I would believe to be blueberries. I was disappointed by the cheese platter not because the cheese were bad ones but just because it was a three bite done deal. I would've liked a bigger portion to share. Overall, very positive experience.
