My first ankle surgeries were performed in my teens. My ankle problems were anything but ordinary. I needed a skilled surgeon who was at the cutting edge of foot and ankle surgery. I came across some information about Dr. Oliver Schipper who practiced in Arlington and Lorton, Virginia, at the Anderson Orthopedic Clinic. I decided to make an appointment with Dr. Schipper. From the get go I explained to Dr. Schipper that I was there for a second opinion only as I had been receiving treatment from one of the top foot and ankle specialists in the DC metro area. My first appointment with Dr. Schipper was at the Arlington location. I was so impressed with his bedside manner. He was extremely personable, kind, understanding and willing to listen to my story. I soon realized I had found someone who was very well qualified to operate on my ankle. Leading up to surgery Dr. Schipper was informative and so well prepared, explaining the process of how he intended to perform the surgery. I could tell he had put a great deal of thought and wanted to make sure he was taking the most effective route in treating my unique situation. Dr. Schipper made a statement which really meant a great deal to me. He said "thank you for placing your trust in me to work on your ankle." My recovery was a breeze compared to a similar surgery I had had about 10 years earlier. I can without reservation recommend Dr. Schipper. He is a young, innovative, dynamic surgeon. I have been a patient of Dr. C for several months now and I feel blessed every time I am adjusted. I have been seen for my back by many physicians, and unfortunately, everyone is quick to prescribe medicine to help numb the pain. Once that medication is done, the pain comes back so what's the point? A friend encouraged me to give a Chiropractor a chance and pointed me to ACT Wellness Center. From the moment I met Dr. C and his staff, everything just felt right. The focus was on relieving my pressure, aligning my body, and educating me on back/joint health. I called the office on Monday and no one answered and then visited as I was trying to be seen. A nice tech greeted me and I was kind to her and I left my callback number and message and was called the next day where the lady said she was sick and I asked if I could have their information to provide to the VA and she said they don't provide that. Then I said ok if they call will you be available later today as I'm in pain and she said no as she's sick and I said ok and we hung up. Then on Friday I contacted the VA and tried to get them to book me here but the office manager told the VA rep no they would not accept me as I was rude to the staff there. Again the above conversation was all we had at this point and then I visited the location and asked to see Dr Jo and she said she wasn't available and I asked for the other doctor and she said I'm the office manager how can I help you. I stated what took place and she said I was rude and they have the right to refuse service. I walked out stating this was ridiculous and they were refusing service to a disabled vet. AVOID this location they don't care about disable vets as a guy who served in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Somalia I've got PTSD and have been in extreme pain do to my service and I heard these people were good but I guess I was wrong. The office manager has the worst customer service ever. Avoid this place. Update: As I sat in the car writing this review she went to the local postnet business to tell them that I was harassing her and then called the cop on me as I went into the postnet to buy a box. Not sure what her deal is maybe she was intimidated by a brown guy, or maybe she doesn't like brown people, or maybe she's against veterans not sure. Hopefully the doctor reads this.

I met with Dr. Brian Lee and I was extremely pleased that he took the time to listen to me and understand my chronic pain. I loved that he didn't just jump to having needles being stuck into my spine but rather focused on less invasive methods before doing that. He took the time to explain any possible future procedures and gave me literature to read up on so that I would be fully informed.
