I'll be honest, the myofascial release therapy was painful for me and I wanted to tap out many times. But Tamara's energy is so soothing I had complete faith in her and made it through. On my good days with pain meds are usually a 5-6 on a scale from 1-10. After my session with Tamara I was at a 1-2, and felt the best I have in years. I didn't realize how careful I've been moving my body to avoid pain, until I didn't need to. After a quick conversation where we covered what I was looking for, she customized the 90 minutes to be the perfect combination of relaxing and therapeutic. I had all my knots and tension worked out without feeling like I had gotten beat up. She also gave the right amount of communication throughout the massage: attentive without being intrusive to the experience. The room itself wasn't mind-blowing, but I couldn't care less when my eyes are closed for 95% of my time spent there. I also liked the fact that she used grapeseed oil for the massage. I use that at home myself--it's amazing for the skin, and far better than the more popular pore-clogging alternatives. I wish I could've bought ten Groupons to see her. The cozy slippers were a nice touch! My massage therapist took the time to ask about my concerns (stiff shoulders and neck) and checked in throughout to make sure the pressure was right. The atmosphere was incredibly relaxing, dim lighting, peaceful music, and even a heated table. By the end, I sincerely felt so much better.
