Although the days of Core Power Hollywood teachers massaging my head are in the rear view, this group of women and one or two men are really excellent and have really sincere energy. They are not robots, many of them are personable and make me feel happy when I enter and leave. I've been a member for 3 months, this is my final 2 weeks as I break for a summer of walking and swimming. Different classes, some extremely hot, some more focused on sculpting with light dumbbells keeps things interesting. The heat and higher rep light weight really works wonders on your physique and your soul. Pulse Pulse Pulse to Disclosure "defeated no more" which is a crazy coincidence considering I played it this AM for the first time in a decade on the way to class. They do a good job keeping the floors clean here, sweeping right after each class. Thanks CP Bridgeport for 3 months of great vibes and classes moving at a great pace. I'll probably re join in the winter.

Through the window, I spied Imagine Yoga studio, so we went to take a look. At that time they were offering a new student special that was in my budget so I signed up. I'm so glad that I did! This place has become my new yoga home. I've participated in a retreat led by its owner, Kristina, which was a pivotal experience in my life. I've enjoyed several special events (Yoga in the Vineyard, Full Moon Circle) and had nothing but beautiful times with this lovely community. The studio was recently renovated, right before COVID closures, and I love the new airy space. Because the studio hosts a variety of teachers, you can tailor your yoga needs to what your SELF is needing each time. I particularly love Kristina's Flow class and the Calm yoga Nidra. During quarantine, I was relieved that they began offering online classes (still in effect) and now, not only can I do the classes from the comfort of my home, but the sessions are recorded and I have access to the class for the day... this is so helpful! Imagine is a small, woman-owned business, operated respectfully, inclusively and holistically. I 100% recommend practicing yoga here.

Yoga studios are pretty sparse in this area of town, and since I now work south of Portland proper and can't get downtown for class regularly at my preferred studio, I tried out the suburban offerings. I got a month-long unlimited new student pass for $40, which was nice. The studio has an okay variety of classes; due to my work schedule, I was only able to make it to the restorative and regular "flow" classes, so my experience was admittedly somewhat limited. Still, I ended the month feeling pretty underwhelmed by my experience, and don't see myself returning. The restorative classes were largely good, with some exceptions - I had one very odd experience that involved lots of standing around and little actual yoga, and one class where the instructor opened the door on a cold, wet December evening and I had to wrap the class blanket around me to keep from shaking. The regular "flow" classes are very slow and seem better suited for yoga beginners. None of the instructors I practiced with offered hands-on adjustments - in fact, most of them just stayed on their mats while leading class. The clientele skews older, which isn't surprising for this part of town. Folks seem to know one another, and the studio seems to have a nice little community going, but it wasn't a community I felt particularly drawn to or welcomed by. The studio space itself is nice, calm and clean; the free tea is a nice touch. The charge for mat use is not, although I overheard one instructor say it isn't really enforced. Given the choice, I'd rather drag myself to NW for a studio experience where the instructors are more engaged with their practitioners and the classes challenge me better.

I'm relatively new to yoga, having taken it up when I turned 59, and even after 538 classes, I am still learning and refining with every one. It has been a life-changing experience for me, having improved my balance, flexibility, strength, tone, and blood sugar level, and is the highlight of my days. A few of the studios, all in California, are what I call "Classic", before the franchise-standard look-and-feel stark white modern aesthetic was developed. This studio is modern. Upon entering, you're greeted by a Wellness Advisor. At a few studios, you check yourself in via an iPad at the front desk, but at most, the WA checks you in after they remember or ask you your name. You can check in via the app once you're close to the studio, but that doesn't refresh the WA's screen immediately, so they may not see that you did. The app for browsing studios and booking classes is overall excellent, with just a couple bugs. It'll offer to put the class on your calendar automatically. Finding a suitable class for your needs is generally easy, with the hard classes in the early morning and into the mid-day, and the easier Slow Flow and Restore classes typically towards the end of the day. Despite Y6 being a franchise operation, there is a LOT of variability between studios in the mix of classes they offer and the details I note below. The single practice room (some studios have two) has a mirror across the entire front wall, but the instructor also faces you and usually mirrors the poses, so this can produce confusion on the teacher's and student's parts as everyone tries to figure out which side to move depending on whether they look at the teacher or their reflection. To me, mirroring only makes sense in an outdoor setting. Most studios, like this one, use vinyl flooring. Some use rubber, which would be awfully hard to keep clean. There are cubbies and lockers to store your things. A few studios have sexed locker rooms with showers, but this studio has two unisex restrooms. There is often a wait for the restroom during the busy turnover times when one class is leaving and another arriving. There's a Flowater water dispenser to fill up your bottle. There are free sweat towels available where you check in; some studios charge for them. Mats and mat towels can be rented. Parking is free. This studio allows late arrivals, which is both accommodating and disruptive. All of the classes are heated, from 85 to 105, with 30-40% humidity, but specific temps are left up to each teacher. The room is laid out with stickers for the top of each mat, allowing for 4 rows of 9 mats, leaving a moderate amount of room between you and your yogi neighbors. There's a thin weight-bearing pole in the middle of the studio that doesn't interfere and can be even be useful for those who aren't along a side wall for support. Virtually all studios have a tall ceiling, but this is the only one with a short ceiling, so tall people have to choose one of the spaces where their hands won't hit the ventilation tubes that hang from the ceiling. A few studios offer TRX, but this one doesn't and couldn't given the low ceilings. The sound system and color-changing lights are high quality. There's a microphone for the instructor, but only one of the 19 teachers use it, so it can be hard to hear the cues if the music is loud. Six studios across the country offer virtual classes, which can be useful when you're traveling internationally; this one doesn't. The walk-in prop room is small, with weights, blocks, bolsters, straps, and bands, all free to use. The teachers don't enforce "in through the inhale door, out through the exhale door", so it's bumper cars getting or putting away your things. The weights are mismatched, rubber coated, and some are torn and rusting; some studios use more durable metal-handled weights with solid rubber ends, but those can be harder on your hands. This studio is one of the few where the instructor places the cooling eucalyptus towels directly on your forehead and gives you a one- or three-second head massage. I find it delightful, but you have the option of signaling to skip the touching. Most studios have the cooling towels placed next to your mat during shavasana, or have them available as you leave the yoga room. Side note: the washer and dryer were broken for over two months at this studio, so there were no sweat towels, cooling towels, or mat towels available. The majority of instructors at this studio are really good, among the best I've had. Each of them go through 200 hours or more of training. The yogis here skew towards the young and fit. Everyone appears happy and spent when class is over, as it should be.

Each week a different instructor leads the classes - each class then is different . . . a different style yoga and a varied method of teaching. It is a perfect way to get acquainted with all of the classes offered once the studio opens near downtown LO. The studio owners have been great with communication. Throughout the winter, YogaSix Lake Oswego has kept members updated on the opening - as well as emailing yoga video workouts to do at home. I have been to many yoga classes, and the personalized attention & well-planned workouts that YogaSix gives its members is impressive. If the owners can do this well while not having the studio opened yet, the new YogaSix looks like a great addition to Lake Oswego.

Two pregnancies and two subsequent kids means I don't get as much yoga in as I would like. The instructors are fantastic. Kind, patient, and very real and human. The classes are a good selection, but definitely not as diverse and creative as they used to be. The times that classes are offered is unfortunately limited. Usually one at 9ish and one at 5:30 during the week and on Sundays. I really miss having options on Saturdays! They have rolled with the challenges of the pandemic. In-person and online offerings, masks required, limited sizes of classes, and marked spaces.

The $276 bill had a ledger filled with false charges and just months later was $3635 Their attorney told me if I didn't pay they would increase it by hundreds of dollars every day and they would foreclose on my home which they were already legally entitled to do. Mountain Park HOA is overseen by the same attorney at Tanglewood. This law firm routinely has a business model of going after the homeowners they represent and foreclosing on their homes. In my case, a $276 bill was falsely escalated to nearly $3700 which does not include the court fees and other expenses I incurred in trying to figure this out. Although mountain Park knew it was an innocent mistake, they refused to allow me to pay them and work with me directly. They knew just how much the attorney was charging me, and had no compunction in moving forward with a lawsuit to take my home. Further, they have done this two dozens of people in the last 10 years. It is my sentiment that the mountain park HOA should be disbanded/dissolved by the owners, and the land and clubhouse donated to the city for tax break for the residents here. The attorney over this HOA would not want this to happen because these HOA's are their stocked pond. They specifically target people who own their homes, and have no way to fight them--low income. My housing experience here has been utterly cruel and in no way does it reflect fair housing. HOAs don't have a great deal of regulation in Oregon and so they get away with things like this. Also, my neighbors, aren't aware of what they did to me--so now you know. At a minimum, an exclusive club would send you an orientation, or maybe even leave a nice welcome basket at your front door, they would be polite when you called them, and they would work with you. Instead, they showed me the utmost cruelty and put me in a dire financial situation--as intended. Let's contact the city manager and ask them to help us donate the land. (503) 635-0215

You can even cancel at state schools and colleges if you do it within the timeframe (which they provide upfront).

Beginning during the end stages of COVID restrictions, it was so nice to experience outdoor swimming, the hot tub, and social time with other members. Swimming is my main experience at the club so here is what you should know: * Six lane outdoor salt water pool that is open year round (I've done laps in the snow, sleet, and hail). * You can reserve four of the six lanes and it is very competitive to get times, especially during the warm weather months when you are competing for space with the swim team, swim lessons, and aqua aerobics classes. * The other two lanes are left open for first come first serve usage and swimmers are encouraged to share. * The outdoor hot tub is for 14+ over. I have only taken one yoga class at the club and all classes have you reserve your spot. If you cancel less than 12 hours in advance or are a no show, you are charged a $10 fee. Personally, I don't mind since the reservation system makes me accountable and if I don't have a reservation, I'm less likely to go workout. The club is a nice mix of serious athletes (I'm surrounded by masters swimmers and triathletes), retirees, and families. Prior to my membership, my teenage son was a member for two years and loved the weight room, sauna, and steam room. The club as been open for awhile and is definitely showing its age and is need of some maintenance upgrades in the pool area. That being said, I have been very happy with my membership here and the personal feel, literally being greet by name when entering and exiting, and the wonderful customer service. This club is very different from the large national chains, so to each their own. Definitely recommend a trial membership at this club as well as others in the area to see which is the best fit for you. [1] I am currently re-watching this classic sitcom and while not aging well in the post Me Too era, still good for a lot of laughs.

The structure seems more appropriate for 2.5 and older. It has a pretty cool rock climber for older kids. My experience makes me wonder if there are parks in Portland that are more inclusive for all children and their abilities? I hope that Portland Parks and Recreation would be willing to rethink how they can be more inclusive when designing a park. I will be the first to admit I know nothing about building a park, but If I did I would want everyone to feel included.

Plus walking paths through several acres of rolling hills with wonderful views immersed in nature. The splash pads are open again (until 7pm) and the kids were certainly joying them. The play structures are both stunning and interactive, even a look-out tower with a telescope that views a constellation ceiling. Very cool. Slides, step rocks, climbing structures, picnic tables in the open and shade, lots of benches, even water bowls for dogs - clearly a lot of thought went into the design and build of Spring Garden Park. It's close to Multnomah Village which is how I discovered it after visiting the food truck area and wanting someplace serene to enjoy my meal. Park right on SW Spring, just be mindful of not blocking the neighbors driveways as it's in a residential area. Close to SW Barbur.

I love Twist Yoga! The owner Jen, instructors, and other students are warm, friendly and make everyone feel welcome. The space is inviting, super clean and close to home (lucky me). While I have enjoyed each and every class I've attended, I most often find myself in Jamie's excellent Power Yoga II and Fusion. When my schedule permits, Jessica's midday classes are consistently awesome. Kristin's meditation classes have literally been life-changing as I am now a daily meditator! Thank you Kristin! You really can't go wrong with any teacher or class in my experience. Do yourself a favor and check out this studio! read more

Twist is much more than a Yoga Studio, it is a community of yoga instructors and students who support one another on their journey to strengthen their mental, physical and emotional health. Each of the Twist instructors has different strengths and preferences that they bring to the practice but all of them encourage we students to try new things and challenge ourselves while lacing their classes with humor and compassion. For anyone who is considering trying out yoga, Twist is an excellent place to start. For those who have previously explored yoga, Twist is a great place to jump back in. read more

I would not recommend this yoga studio to those interested, it is small, cramped, they cram too many people into a small room, the heat is too much, and the teachers are not very knowledgeable or proficient. One teacher kept yelling at me to 'Listen!' I think her name was Kristen, it was very rude, I was just trying to keep up. Definitely not in the spirit of yoga. More like an aerobics class trying to be up to date. They play music very loud, and overall it is inauthentic. They don't even let you say 'Om.' !!! read more

I loved doing yoga at Twist so much that I got certified as a yoga teacher through the studio and it was one of the best experiences. There is such a great variety of classes and all of the teachers are just amazing. Finally, hot yoga in LO has arrived! And not your typical hot yoga studio ... this place is hot and cool, with wood floors (not that skanky carpet you find in a traditional Bikram studio). Talented, thoughtful staff and instructors. Great atmosphere and energy, right down to the last detail. Super fun events and amazing workshops. Plus, my fave .... Greenleaf Juice. Boom. I love the light hearted attitude and upbeat feel at twist yoga coupled with the best classes and temperature. Many hot yoga studios are too hot, but twist's temperature allows for deep stretching without feeling depleted. The classes are the right size, never feeling too crowded. Additional learning is offered for special topics and total well being is the common goal at twist. read more

This is a convent, clean, and beautiful studio. I have had a class from all of the instructors and that are all great. The classes range from a yoga "workout" to light, restorative types of classes. There are many different options for how you want to enhance your yoga practice. We are so lucky to have this gem so close to home. read more

The teachers are all fantastic, and the studio is a friendly environment where all are welcome, no matter your level of experience. The studio needs better ventillation because it smells so bad. There are only a couple decent teachers but the rest are pretty terrible and annoying to listen to. Sometimes they are even rude/controlling. There does need to be better options for yoga in this neighborhood. read more

Through the window, I spied Imagine Yoga studio, so we went to take a look. At that time they were offering a new student special that was in my budget so I signed up. I'm so glad that I did! This place has become my new yoga home. I've participated in a retreat led by its owner, Kristina, which was a pivotal experience in my life. I've enjoyed several special events (Yoga in the Vineyard, Full Moon Circle) and had nothing but beautiful times with this lovely community. The studio was recently renovated, right before COVID closures, and I love the new airy space. Because the studio hosts a variety of teachers, you can tailor your yoga needs to what your SELF is needing each time. I particularly love Kristina's Flow class and the Calm yoga Nidra. During quarantine, I was relieved that they began offering online classes (still in effect) and now, not only can I do the classes from the comfort of my home, but the sessions are recorded and I have access to the class for the day... this is so helpful! Imagine is a small, woman-owned business, operated respectfully, inclusively and holistically. I 100% recommend practicing yoga here.

Yoga studios are pretty sparse in this area of town, and since I now work south of Portland proper and can't get downtown for class regularly at my preferred studio, I tried out the suburban offerings. I got a month-long unlimited new student pass for $40, which was nice. The studio has an okay variety of classes; due to my work schedule, I was only able to make it to the restorative and regular "flow" classes, so my experience was admittedly somewhat limited. Still, I ended the month feeling pretty underwhelmed by my experience, and don't see myself returning. The restorative classes were largely good, with some exceptions - I had one very odd experience that involved lots of standing around and little actual yoga, and one class where the instructor opened the door on a cold, wet December evening and I had to wrap the class blanket around me to keep from shaking. The regular "flow" classes are very slow and seem better suited for yoga beginners. None of the instructors I practiced with offered hands-on adjustments - in fact, most of them just stayed on their mats while leading class. The clientele skews older, which isn't surprising for this part of town. Folks seem to know one another, and the studio seems to have a nice little community going, but it wasn't a community I felt particularly drawn to or welcomed by. The studio space itself is nice, calm and clean; the free tea is a nice touch. The charge for mat use is not, although I overheard one instructor say it isn't really enforced. Given the choice, I'd rather drag myself to NW for a studio experience where the instructors are more engaged with their practitioners and the classes challenge me better.

I also want to mention that I booked the class through Class Pass. Upon arrival, I was greeted by Emmie who was also my instructor. She was very sweet and so welcoming. She gave me a brief summary of what to expect and answered any questions I had. My first impression of the studio was that it was very clean and cute. The class itself was great. Emmie is an awesome instructor and very motivating which makes all the difference. There is a parking lot but it can get full as the studio is located in a plaza with other businesses. Overall, I had a great experience here and can see myself coming back.

Wow my previous review was from so so long ago!…read more I'm a regular at Thrive for yoga. I've been practicing here off and on for 4 years. Two pregnancies and two subsequent kids means I don't get as much yoga in as I would like. The instructors are fantastic. Kind, patient, and very real and human. The classes are a good selection, but definitely not as diverse and creative as they used to be. The times that classes are offered is unfortunately limited. Usually one at 9ish and one at 5:30 during the week and on Sundays. I really miss having options on Saturdays! They have rolled with the challenges of the pandemic. In-person and online offerings, masks required, limited sizes of classes, and marked spaces.

Yiwen's encouragement makes you want to do better though she repeatedly stresses to work at our own pace because yoga is a journey not a contest. Be warned that she is strict because she cares. Her goal is for us to do yoga the correct way, stressing the SAFE way and to check our egos at the door because she wants you to practice yoga for the rest of your life. She says too many people get hurt doing poses before you're ready and doing it incorrectly. She is a blessing to the yogi community!!!

My practice included a spectrum of very traditional to very modern pilates methods as well as almost every brand/style of pilates equipment. It only took one IMX reformer class to get me hooked! I loved the pace of the class and the breathing emphasis and the fact that so many body parts get targeted in a one hour class. From the ambiance of the studio to the fabulous instructors to the IMX class style and even the exclusive IMX reformer equipment I am constantly impressed. I enjoy how each instructor brings different moves, ideas and challenges to each class leaving me feeling both sore and invigorated! Just last week I enjoyed the most unique class yet with Instructor Sheri Grant who kept us on our toes (literally) when she incorporating a fun mix of barre principles into her reformer class creating a wonderful muscle challenge and the best kind of burn! IMX is definitely my pilates sanctuary and I'm so thankful to be a part of the IMX family!

Private sessions elsewhere have classified me as intermediate & other studios place me in advanced lessons. I haven't seen any chair exercises or equipment but maybe they are stored away?
