I give Theresa 10/10 stars for her expertise, professionalism and amazing work during our house hunt. It's no secret this is the hardest time to buy a house, but Theresa went above and beyond her job to help us find the perfect place. We lived in another state so did it all virtually, but Theresa was there with us every step of the way making sure the process was nothing but smooth. This review is a long time coming, I'm not sure why it never occurred to me to write a review for my realtor but when I saw she had a yelp page, I felt kind of dumb for not writing this sooner. Theresa helped us buy our condo in bucktown and from start to finish she was a major help to us, first time home buyers. Theresa helped us purchase our first home in the city of Chicago and she was absolutely outstanding. From the first meeting, she knew we would need some extra hand-holding as this was our first home purchase. Recently, I decided it was time for me to become a home owner. I have never bought a home so I really had no idea as to how to do it. I hesitate to write this review as Theresa's a nice person and I'm afraid she'll reach out to me and criticize or question my review. But, I can only speak from experience and my truth and honesty and in the quest to best inform Yelp-ers, I write. The truth is, she didn't get the job done. When I looked for a real estate agent, I searched Yelp and saw her all 5-star reviews and thought she'd be fabulous but this just wasn't the case. (Maybe she's a great buyer's agent, but we used her as a seller's agent.) Our house didn't sell and is in a great location, at a decent price in a decent market. Not totally her fault, but some of her suggestions were just... off. We had our living room painted purple which probably turned off potential buyers but she didn't recommend re-painting it until 5 months into it being on the market. We had our condo up as a 2 bedroom and received multiple showings, but her suggestion all along was to show it as a 1 bedroom and finally, we changed it to a 1 bedroom per her advice and then received almost zero showings. Wrong strategy. Sometimes I felt that she was more interested in self-promotion and branding than pursuing what we, the clients, wanted. On the plus side, she sent us a text after every showing with the potential buyers' comments and impressions. Also, she was kind and polite to work with. read more

As a first time home buyer I was lucky enough for the recommendation to use Theresa as a realtor; she was very helpful in guiding me through the process of home buying and made me feel very comfortable and at ease during the whole process, although I was significantly nervous in knowing what a huge commitment owning a home would be. Theresa made the home buying process enjoyable on my part as well as effortless. She would research a number of properties in my price range, liking and the neighborhoods I had suggested; a time was scheduled on a weekly basis and we would go to view properties. She was very flexible with her time and was willing to work around my schedule. Theresa was very honest with me on why I would / wouldn't like a certain property and she was willing to ask questions I was very hesitant about asking, which in turn was very helpful. As I found the place I was looking to put an offer in on Theresa notified me "negotiating price was her favorite part of real estate" and it showed, I was very pleased as well as surprised with the offer which was presented. During the closing process it was reassuring Theresa was there with me to assure my best interest were addressed at which she did a great job.
