They were communicative, proactive in contacting apartments I wanted to look at, and were in my corner when it came to filling out applications and other paperwork. After going with Nikki and Stacie as my broker three (3!!!) times to find a place to rent, I'm long overdue to give a review. Obviously, going with them three times should be enough of reason to show how great they are. I can't compare them to others as they are the first brokers I went with as a first time renter, but my experience was fantastic! They're efficient, respond quickly, and are the sort of brokers I needed as a young woman. They advocated for me and I really appreciated how they would push for us for a place we wanted. Terrible experience. I had an appointment with Rena to see a studio on Milwaukee and she NO SHOWED. This appointment was made and confirmed 5 days prior. Not only was I left waiting outside the unit for 20 minutes until I finally decided to call Dumas Realty directly, but I did not receive an apology, written or verbal, to remedy the mistake. Additionally, my appointment was booked the same time as 10 other people (who were also left waiting), which I find to be completely unprofessional. This may not be an issue for some - fight til the death, if you will, for an apartment - but I prefer to have my own appointment, in line with other applicants in the order in which they inquired. I would also like to mention the lack of consideration this displays for the tenant who is already living in the unit being shown who has to welcome 12 strangers into his/her home all at once. Wouldn't recommend it. Though I would recommend upper management to have a word with Rena. read more

I've rented from Dumas for the past few years, and I've been very pleased with them. They are friendly, responsive and they take good care of their properties and tenants. They have current rental and sale listings posted on their office on California. I am not sure if they rent throughout the city, but I do know they rent in the Bucktown and Logan Square area. In the event that I move, I would look at their other rentals before shopping around.
