We pulled up to the restaurant on a Tuesday mid afternoon and were pleasantly surprised by the entire experience. Service was friendly and welcoming. I don't think I've been to a cleaner restaurant. Ever. The food... being from Texas we are bbq snobs. And this bbq did not disappoint especially considering its location up north. From the 5 sauces given to us which were labeled (loved this so we could remember which was which), the creamy mac and cheese to the perfectly seasoned pulled pork, everything was so good. The ribs were nicely sauced and perfectly tender. We split a 2 meat (pilled pork and 3 ribs) with 2 sides ( mac and cheese and chili (up-charge)). The portions were generous and well priced. I came back the next day and ordered the brisket sandwich. The brisket was one of the best I have had (almost as good as mine). While waiting for my sides to cook, the owner offered a "pup cup" for my dog. BEST PUP CUP EVER! I've never seen a pup cup of smoked chicken before. Can't wait for my next trip to Iron Mountain so I can try the pork.

It's tight and really a one-person aisle--you have to be careful of servers bringing large trays of food in the same aisle. The indoor dining room is plain and nothing special. We sat outside on the covered patio. The bay views are nice. Service was prompt and friendly. The food is ok. I had the smoked chicken and hubs did the brisket. We both felt the proteins were too dry. Good smoked meat is moist and flavorful, this really needed the help of the sauce. The sides (coleslaw, mac & cheese, baked beans) were ok as well. I did like the sauce! We ate our dinners and didn't leave hungry, but wished for better. It was a busy holiday weekend and maybe things just got a bit off for them?
