I always try to time my trips "up north" so I can stop here for a late breakfast or lunch. Just a no frills kind of place with great food. I love their hash browns, county fried steak and rye toast. Omelets are great too! Walls are full of local sports photos and you can even page through some of the old year books from Wausaukee high school. read more

Came here after a 16 hour road trip on the way up to Iron Mountain. We ordered the corn beef hash with an English muffin, the stuffed hash brown and the biscuits and gravy. They also offered a kids breakfast menu which is always good and never really happens often at restaurants, I think. The kids meal came out first which is how I like it and we all ordered water which we needed after a long trip. I also ordered an orange juice which was really, really good. The food was fast and hot and pretty cheap considering the portions and the quality taste. It really hit the spot and was exactly what we needed. Judging by the amount of trucks outside we knew we made a good choice. read more

Randomly picked this place. From the outside, it looks a little run down but don't let that be deceiving. The food is awesome! The farmer's omelette was awesome! They serve breakfast until 1:00. They have plenty of food choices along with a kids menu. The wait staff is also super friendly. If you are driving through, definitely stop at this place. I will be back! read more

I won't lie it was a little weird to dine in for the first time in months! But I don't think I could have picked a better place to for this event! Only two servers on a busy weekend. Waited over an hour for terrible food. The biscuits and gravy was gross. The biscuits were raw in the middle and gravy was cold. The omelette had canned mushrooms in it which is unacceptable to me. Overall I really disliked my experience here. Would never go back. read more

Bad experience. I Drive past this place a couple time a month and decided to stop in for a sandwich. There was one waitress working and only had a couple tables. I was with two other people and we seated ourselves. Ten minutes past before we were even acknowledged. The waitress said she would "be right there". Another large table came in and sat down. Another 10 minutes past. The waitress came and waited on the other table. After that she FINALLY came over and took our drink orders. She seemed very disorganized and did not pay attention to the details of her job. We sat in this place forever before finally being served and when we finally got our food, it was mediocre at best. read more

It is easy to see why the Ranger Family Restaurant is nearly always full in the morning. Their breakfasts are filling, wonderful, and a great deal. The staff is friendly and cheerful, and prompt. The food is nothing fancy -- basic, standard fare for a rural family restaurant -- but they do a lot well and serve it with a smile. I typically order eggs over-easy, with bacon, sausage or ham and American fries. Their American fries are perfectly cooked and plentiful, and my breakfasts have always come out of the kitchen piping hot. Dining companions often order omelettes, which seem to be loaded with ingredients. I try to stop in for breakfast whenever in the area. read more
