Peking Chinese restaurant is hands-down, the best Chinese food in the area. The dinner buffet is incredibly fresh. The staff is always friendly. I always go whenever I am in the area. I tried another buffet style Chinese place across town and there is no comparison. The other place has more variety but lacks in quality. I'll choose quality any day of the week. They have a great variety of good Chinese dishes on their buffet. Was seated immediately and the price was reasonable.

The staff were very friendly, but the food selection wasn't the best. There were no dumplings, wonton soup, beef and broccolI, or ice cream.

Guess we came on the wrong day. This was absolutely the worst food we have ever eaten. Nothing had any flavor and also nothing labeled. And over 30 bucks for 2 people. Nope won't eat here again Disgusting food I can't understand why there are so many people here eating this crap. read more

All staff are masked which we appreciate. The only menu is at the front door. They have a code to scan but it only brings up pictures of the items and no names or descriptions. Take pic of big menu board it's easier! Lovely service. Friendly and efficient. We didn't try the buffet. Crab Rangoon very good, but having a small bowl with plum sauce would be much better than the packets of sweet and sour sauce that make a sticky mess. Lo Mein just okay with a few pieces of grissle meat. Cashew chicken also okay with way too much raw celery but tasty meat. read more

My wife and I stopped for lunch, the restaurant smelled of urine, carpet was severally stained with food on it, all food on the buffet was cold and disgusting. Had to ask for silverware table was sticky, We can't believe we actually ate some of it before my wife spit it out, my food felt like there was sand in it. Iron Mountain Chinese- I guess when you don't have any other Chinese restaurants in the area anything considered "Chinese food" would do. They offer a lunch buffet for $8.95 but the food appeared to have sat on the buffet since the night before. It offered only one beef dish and most of the chicken concoctions used chicken thighs. The ice cream they offered was good. So, the buffet includes tea, soup, desert, and large food selection. Would be nice if they offered more than one beef option. read more

PASS ON THIS ONE, I wish I had. Got there on a Monday night about 6:00. Was in a hurry so needed a quicker meal. When we got there we asked our waitress if we could order off menu and she said only buffet. There were numerous chicken dishes, one beef/broccoli dish with tiny and sparse pieces of beef, one shrimp dish with tiny and again sparse shrimp and a pork dish with a poorly colored meat with veggies. EVERYTHING was lukewarm at best and I said a prayer that I would not get sick from eating there. The food was just plain bad. It was hard to chew from being both overcooked and sitting in a lukewarm stream tray for hours. The breading on the chicken dishes was thick and hard to bite into. They did have some fried shrimp, but it was a dark brown and very tough as well. I went to get a piece of cake and a donut for dessert and both were so dry, that when I picked them up and dropped them back in pan, they both made noise. I asked for fresh donuts. They made 5 (there were about 10 diners in the place) and put them out. So I ate a fresh donut, which was good, and figured I just paid $14.50 for a donut, which was the ONLY thing worth eating in there. When we checked out, the owner asked if everything was ok and I said no, we wanted to order off menu, but the waitress said we could not. He said yes, you could order off menu. The waitress (with too many nose piercings to count) had told us the wrong info. Pass on this, you'll thank me. UGH. read more

Tasty Chinese food for a small town. Actually it's quite comparable to Chinese buffets in big cities. In fact some of their menu items are better. They make the best hot & sour soup, fried cheese wontons (crab Rangoon), and General Tso's chicken I've ever had at a buffet. The Orange chicken is as good as Panda Express. Not a fan of their fried chicken wings though. I usually order lunch from here and it tastes like everything is fresh and hot. I've dined inside once, close to their closing time. There were just a few of us, yet when I went to the buffet area, the owner asked if I would like them to make any more of the food items. That's very generous considering they were about to close. I have a hunting cabin an hour from here. Was pleasantly surprised to find this nice little buffet. I ate here twice this week. 24 hot selections and all I sampled were very good. Small salad section, a few deserts and a soft-serve ice cream machine. The place was clean, the staff was just fine, the elevator music was at a very low volume :O) Lot's of customers both days. We give 1 star & gave decent tips because our waiter was very nice & appologize. Host/cashier was very nice too, possibly is the owner. They added some boiled medium sized shimps & call that dinner buffet w/ higher price. Half of trays were there since lunch...veges were no longer in green color & dry. We ordered from menu. Our appertizer, main dishes all came at the same time after a long 20 min.wait. Appertizer was hotter than the main dishes (appertizer was seafood soup, very bland w/ no flavor). They cooked our main dishes before making appertizer. Their "chef" can't cook other than following the formula of buffet trays foods "manufacturing"... Our Shrimp w/ garlic has a few small shrimps w/ lot of tough celery stems & green peppers, no garlic but red pepper flakes. Their buffet shrimps were a lot bigger, whether or not they were fresh no one knows because they were fried. Our Beefscallops dish has scallops cut in small sizes & not even fresh. They do not restock their buffet enough, a lot of the food is overcooked, they put out strange things that no one in their right mind would eat (think mystery Las Vegas buffet) but some of their items are tasty, like the Crab Rangoons (when they actually re-stock them, half of the time the bin is empty) and the Sesame Chicken. read more

This place is far from authentic or even "good" Chinese. Orange chicken is bursting with ZERO flavor. The fried rice is basically white rice with a little bit of vegetables in it. Chicken quantity was pretty good but rice portion was well under average. Crab Rangoon's are so bad I threw out the other 5 out of 6 that come in a package. Nothing out of what I ate had any flavor. All of it seemed SUPER bland and well under any authentic Chinese. I feel bad for the people of iron mountain that this is their "best oriental" restaurant. That's sad. Would not recommend unless you have know knowledge on how Chinese is suppose to taste. read more

This was so awful. We stopped I. With our kids after a weekend of hiking and camping. We were starving. And it was still terrible. Everything was old and dry and beyond that flavorless. Crab Rangoon is just plain cream cheese, no spices, no crab, nothing. Half of the stuff didn't have labels, just bowls of..gelatanous brown goo with bits of meat? I'm giving this place three stars but it's really more like 2.5. The buffet is over priced for the variety and quality of items presented. The sweet and sour sauce was extremely thin and almost like it had been watered down. The chicken wings were dried out and I'm pretty sure left over from the day before and reheated. You can find some things that are decent so you can get full but this place is by far the worst Chinese buffet we have ever been to from Texas to Maine. To top it off the ice cream machine was broken too! We won't be back. read more
