The easiest way to describe Thermo-tite window systems, CROOKS I had my windows replaced by the then scam artists in 2005 (now out of Business), who promised in writing and contract the so-called lifetime warranty. They meant how long they would stay in the window business scamming unsuspecting homeowners. I remember Sears wanted 15K for the same windows, and Thermo-tite cost 10K. Unfortunately, like many who got scammed, the double-hung windows' glass is fine; it's all the other parts that have succumbed to the sun's rays and have cracked and fallen off. read more

I am looking for Thermo -Tite windows. we purchased 24 windows in 2004. But from the beginning I had broken sashes, a few glasses that its hard to see clearly outside. it has been a few disappointments. I decided to get in touch, since I have life time warrant. But the company it seemed to vanishe. In 1997 I got a house and immediately had the second floor done by Thermo-tite. It is 2023 and I have not had one issue with these frames. Not even a single seal has Broken. I am horrified to find out that they are no longer in business. If anybody has information about what happened or where I can find the people that possibly acquired their company and is doing business under a different name I would greatly appreciate it. My elderly mother was scammed to purchase 2 large windows in her kitchen/family room; I wasn't there to advise, but I would have absolutely stopped her. Thermotite charged her over $3,500 for pure GARBAGE. The windows leak ice-cold air; when you slide one the middle section slides with it. They're ugly; plastic around the whole thing. For the same price she could have gotten nicer Andersen windows! The owner at the time was Randy Leeds, who is now nowhere to be found. I saw him briefly on Angies' List; they must have caught on about him because he's not there any longer. Last I heard he divorced the owner of Thermotite and moved on to Marvin or Pella windows and started his own company. Worse, I had my workman look at these windows, and he said these can be picked up in the Bronx for $300 each! read more

They are out of business. I should have done with Anderson or Pella. All the casement window handles are breaking off. I cannot open the windows all the way. The kitchen window is completely locked shut and cannot open. read more

This company installed 32 windows in our house in 2008 with a contract for a lifetime guarantee. In 2015 three of the windows broke. There are small springs in the sides of the windows that keep them up when they are open. The springs popped out, and now the windows will not stay open unless they are propped up with a piece of wood. We called to request repairs and were told that the company had gone bankrupt. To make matters worse, for two years we have been calling around to various window repair companies, and everyone we call tells us the same thing ... they don't have the replacement springs and tools for this type of window. read more

This company has bad management and they intentionally fraud their customers. I ordered 9 windows and a patio door. They botched the patio for install and the door began to shift leaving me with a 1/4" gap between the door a the wall where my heat and AC would escape. I obviously reported it to them and they finally sent someone NINE months later. The Guy puts in a replacement door that was very poor quality and not the very expensive door that I paid for. I didn't notice the day of the installation but I noticed a week later when the temperature dropped and it's at least 10 degrees colder by my patio door. This was 2 years ago and they still haven't made it right. Run away from this company. read more

We purchased windows from Thermo-Tite after obtaining a few estimates. Their big pitch was customer service and the quality of their windows. And of course the old if you purchase now, you get further savings. OK, 12+ windows (paid cash) later and just a few years and the windows are falling apart. The safety stops after a few uses fell out of the window. When I called and spoke with a customer service manager, it was "well don't know what to tell you, they are not meant to be safety stops, but I will send you a couple of replacements". Great customer service. We have two windows we hardly open in the kitchen and those two windows will not stay open unless you have something holding them up. It seems the inner mechanism/spring will not support the window. So another window, we open and since it would not support itself, it slammed down and shattered the inner glass. These windows have not been nor were they ever help with the draft in the house, as they claimed. Overall, the customer service, quality of windows were not what we thought they would be. In comparison, we purchased other windows from Home Depot and had a handy man install, a few years back, and there is quite a difference when it comes to keeping the heat in. read more

I redid my whole house using Thermo Tite on the recommendation of a friend. The windows and sliding door were all fine until this Winter. The extremely cold temps must have compromised the seal in one of the windows and I got a little condensation. I'd like to get that one pane replaced. Not sure if the guarantee covers the kind of weather we had this Winter, but I'd be willing to pay for a replacement. So, I have been trying to reach these people to arrange this. The Salesman who came to my house retired, the phone number on the website is a busy signal and the number I found on the internet never returns your call. You can only get a machine. Now I have to figure out where to go to replace this one pane of glass. read more

Not even worth one star. We put in $20,000 worth of windows around 10 years ago. First impression was that the plastic frames were so wide that we felt we had lost lots of the open feeling from our picture windows. You adjust to that; however, to date nearly every window they installed has turned cloudy. We have a wall of windows two stories high and the ones on the second story were put in after months of delay, on a cold and rainy November day. They left out screws, something we are just learning from the contractor fixing the warping going on. We had to resurface the entire outside wall of the house due to their inept installers. The rubber on the threshold bases of the sliders is curling up, the opening mechanisms on the crank windows keeps coming off the tracks. The windows are pure GARBAGE. They pressured us into our contract with the promise of savings if we acted fast and we've had nothing but regrets. I cannot believe they are still in business.
