During the initial interdisciplinary meeting, the entire staff clearly agreed that the goal was to transfer him to Encompass Acute Rehab for the intensive therapy that he urgently needed. However, despite months of repeated requests for the transfer, Plaza Healthcare ignored multiple phone calls, never returned voicemails, and delayed the process intentionally. Case Manager Renae, and Social Worker Jasmine, and Case Manager Jamie consistently failed to communicate or act in his best interest. As the result of these delays Plaza Healthcare kept him until 10/02, which used up all 90 days of United Healthcare benefits. This prevented him from going to Encompass Acute Rehab when he needed it most - forcing him to pay out of pocket for the most critical 3-week acute rehab he should have received through insurance. In my opinion, Plaza Healthcare's intentional delay and failure to coordinate care served their FINANCIAL INTEREST, not the patient's. It felt manipulative, unethical, and harmful. Families should be aware of these practices before placing their loved ones here.
