I would give a negative review if I could. The customer service was horrible. I never complain about anything. I always felt that the holidays stress people out or maybe it's not a good day for them. I always try to smile and be nice to everyone. However, what they did was unacceptable. They had me come in 5x to pick up some items I had ordered. The first time I showed up and said, Hello, I received a text..... and right away they cut me off by saying in a loud voice, well what do you expect, we've been swamped. Now come back if we text you. -What?????!!!!! First few times I did nothing I would just walk out quietly. Fifth time, I did reply in a firm voice but I feel like it did nothing. The staff were helpful and made helpful suggestions and options for personalizing an item brought into the store. It was fairly priced for customizing a piece and they completed the job within the 48-hour timeframe promised. I felt the engraving on the metal piece turned out better than the wood, which seemed more difficult to read for the point and font size. I would have liked if the clerk had mentioned the serif font at that point size may be difficult to read on the wood. Maybe if you're doing wood, consider a sans serif for 12pt. font. But, other than that it turned out great and was very pleased with the ease and efficiency of the whole process start to finish. read more

It's unfortunate that the rating on here for this particular store is so low. Earlier today I was a tad late picking up my online order and the security gate to the front entrance of the store was shut, but I could see an employee closing up not far from where I was standing so I asked her what time the store opened in the morning. She was very polite, gave the time, and after a brief conversation where I informed her that I was only there for a pick up, asked for my identifying info, stepped away, then returned with my order! I have worked retail in the past and have had first hand experience dealing with anxiety the Christmas shopping season brings. This team (because it was 3 employees that ended up assisting in locating my order) took a few minutes of their day, during probably the busiest time of the season because of procrastinators like me, to save me another trip to the store tomorrow. Thank you! Thank you for taking care of us procrastinating customers even when you didn't have to. I have always had a positive experience shopping at this store and it's the staff that makes the difference. I called first, looking to have a key chain engraved for our 20th Annversary. The women on the phone said no problem and it could be done in 30 minutes which worked perfectly for me. I was going to do it myself but it didn't work with my knife, that's why the last minute need. I went to the Mall, which I never go to, walked in the empty store. The black woman behind the counter ignored me as I walked to the counter in the back of the store. I said hello and she looked at me as if annoyed. I told her what I needed, she took the key chain to see if it would fit in the engraving machine. It would. She filled out a paper with the infothat the item was scratched on the back( my attempt to engrave by myself). She put the paper in front of me to fill out, said I needed to tell her where I boughtthe item, how much it costs, how long would she have to replace it if it was ruined, and said "you can pick it ip after 7:30 pm." Ireplied that I needed it back right away and had been told 30 minutes on the phone. She said" Excuse me?! "She stated well, we got more orders in since you called at this point, i felt her attitude was rude. She did not care at all that I needed it to give to my husband that night at dinner. She was not accomodating and did not treat me with good customer service the whole time I was there. I said I couldn't leave it and I will find someplace else. Just fyi, i mentioned that she was black, not for any racist reasons but only to identify her as I didn't get her name. I will Never Go to that store again after being treated so rudely. read more

I put in a order a few days ago. For crib side pick up. I got a confirmation that my merchandise was ready for pick up. I came the next day. Today at opening hours. Called multiple times because on the website it said they were open. I'm extremely upset because I drove 3 hours away to get something from this store. To pick up a very sentimental gift for my brother that is leaving to the military. TODAY. I don't have time to wait 2-3 more hours how security says so they can open. The store said it open at 12pm. Quite a shopping experience I had there, I went in looking for a personalized gift for a dear friend and ended up leaving with nothing, I was not helped out and I believe her name was heather, never greeted me and kept following me around the store and never once asked if I needed help , she was just watching what I was doing I feel like she thought I was stealing and it made me very uncomfortable to the point where I had to leave the store and not buy anything. read more

A little disappointed. I called ahead about engraving a stethoscope or if they had something I could attach that would be engraved. The nice girl I spoke to warned they might not be able to engrave the stethoscope but assured me that they had a plaque that could be engraved and then attached. When I came in the next day the representative was helping another customer I stood to the side waiting my turn but instead of a hello or how may I help you I was greeted with "I don't engrave those" (kind of snarky) I stated I had called ahead and was told you had products that I could attach. This representative said I must've talked to someone new. I was told to go to micheals and find my own pendant or charm to engrave. So basically I'm being to to spend my money elsewhere and that's what I did. Glad I didn't waste anymore time or money here. Thank god for Amazon. read more

I love shopping at Things Remembered for wedding and anniversary gifts but I will not be going back as long as the new "manager" is still working there.Heather I think is her name. She speaks to customers with a attitude and doesn't even know anything about the store or engraving. Its 2 hours to engrave something you buy in the store but 48 hours if you bring something in that's basically the same item they have in the store. I told her I needed it asap and she told me "we'll see but all outside items need 48 hours" when she walked away one of the other girls assured me it would be done in a few hours and I wish I had talked to her first instead of this "manager". read more

Very disappointed in the lack of customer service I received over the phone. I receieved a gift from my previous boss, a rose gold compact mirror with the words "she believed she could, and so she did". At this location the first 7 letters are free anything additional is I believe $3 or so per letter. So you can imagine it's an extra $40 or so just for the engraving plus the cost of the item. When I received the gift I did notice that the word believed was misspelled. So I called and asked the associate what my options are. Having retail experience I knew what questions to ask. The associate started off with saying "You would need the receipt and it's would need to be with in I THINK the 45 or 60 day policy" so I asked for a more definitive answer because if it was 45 days, I was over but if it was 60 days i was still fine. Since it was a gift I would have to get the receipt from my previous boss which wasn't an issue, I just was unsure if she even had the receipt so I asked if she could manually look it up. The associate then proceeded to tell me it would be contingent on if the store was busy. I asked why that matters. Her response was "well we aren't just going to stop what we are doing to look up a receipt. Kind of like today, we are slower today so I'm able to have this lengthy conversation". I was so bothered that by asking questions it was such an inconvenience to that store. Terrible customer service. read more

I am really hoping this ends up more stars than this. Here is my situation - I ordered a desk plaque 2 weeks in advance for my cousin who is getting his PHd in Vegas this weekend. I picked out the most gorgeous one, but the store only had the display, which is a little scratched up. I ordered a new one and they assured me it would be in by last Friday. Not in. Then they tell me it will be in Monday. Nope. It will be in Tuesday. Today is Tuesday and I was just told they never processed the order. We are 3 days away from leaving. Jennifer at the store is trying to help but not sure how this will turn out and getting very nervous! Update**** they did end up getting me one from a different store and engraved it.. I received really good customer service and great merchandise. Initial info from one of the sales people was great as far as font and order of wording for engraving. However when I was paying at the register, another sales associate recommend changes to the font and order of wording which turned out even way better. I'll definitely be back for future gifts. Stopped in for a few gifts with the mother and grandmother in a wheelchair. The aisles were mostly wide enough for me to push her through, and the staff were attentive and helpful. Be careful as you shop; the engraving is expensive. We ordered two items to be engraved and the clerk said they would be ready in an hour. We were ready to go in about half that time, and stopped in hoping they might be working on our order. In fact, it was already done and waiting for us! I am a total fan of Things Remembered. Especially the one at the Fashion Fair Mall in Fresno, CA. They have a large quantity of merchandise to choose from and I feel you would be hard pressed not finding a terrific one of a kind gift for anyone on your shopping list. As a previous reviewer noted, be careful with your engraving. Ask and keep asking how you can cut down on the engraving costs. Some things like monograms are one price and make a big impact. Then you can add a year or a few words and keep the cost down. read more

Went into the store in Fashion Fair to pick up some wine glasses that I had started ordering online. The salesperson Itsy was very pushy and rude. After going through the whole process and talking to her about the monogram and colors we are ready to make the deal. She tried to slip in that to change the color on the monogram it was $6 per item. They don't tell you this up front and if you order the same item online it makes no mention of this cost for the wine glass. I also explained that I had a coupon code online that gave me 15% off and asked if they would honor that she told me NO. So I told her alright I will order online and choose to pick up in store she advised that she would not allow that. I asked to talk the manger but there was none. I could call Tuesday if I wanted I asked for the number she would not give me the number told me that I could look it up. Just FYI the color that they are charging $6 per item for can be purchased at any arts and crafts store it's call Rub N Buff it's $5 for the tube and all you do is rub it over the free monogram with a microfiber cloth and it will fill in the color. A few years ago I purchased the Silver Plated Credit Card Expandable Wallet. I had it engraved with my name. I got so many compliments on this Wallet.Through wear and tear the expandable liners started breaking over the years. I took my Wallet in today and showed Jennifer H. who to my surprise had me give me my old Wallet and told me to come back in 30 minutes I thought she would just replace the liner. To my surprise she gave me a brand new Wallet and also engraved my name on it. And at no cost to me. Things Remembered has excellent Customer Service.
