Sambar could be a little thicker but overall definitely scratches the itch when you're craving dosa! Their menu was small, which I actually appreciated since it eliminates decision fatigue. Just note that the prices aren't listed on the menu so ask before you order! Overall, if you've never tried Tamil food before, this would be a great intro!

The Masala Dosa comes in a container sliced in two rather than the entire wrapped in foil at one of nearby place (our favourite). The Dosa (crepe) much thicker than it should be make it too doughy and filling not flavoured enough. The accompanying sambhar was nothing great as well. The chutney too thin and watery but was surprisingly much better. It hit the right notes on flavour, spiciness and salt. The Kottu Roti was cooked with minimal veggies and much spicier than I anticipated. I was fine, but the Mrs not so much. And this was asking it to be mild. Need to try the HOT when I am all alone. The redeeming factor was that it contained Nutrella pieces (Indian continent soy pieces). The quantity was disappointing as well. $8.50 for a Masala Dosa (similar price to a sit down restaurant and much better quality or several $s expensive than the one sold at a nearby Sri Lankan place) and $7 for Kottu Roti - same as Masala Dosa. Now I know why there were not many people during lunch!

PS: the room I was seated at this time had a magnificent 20' tall waterfall. 2024 Review: I have never been on a cruise ship or two a resort hotel, but I imagine the experience I had here would be comparable. Finding this place, which is located in a commercial or industrial warehousing district, would be challenging without GPS. Upon pulling up we thought it might have been an old hotel at one point. The entrance is grand, though, and nicely decorated. When we walked in we were met at a greeter station and introduced to a guy who was our "guide" around the buffet. He pointed out the various stations and featured entrees as well as his favorites (I suspect they are told what to say), and then led to the "blue room". Named because it is entirely blue in an almost Disney-esque way, it had one wall composed entirely of a fish tank! We took turns getting our food and watching our toddler, and there were lots of options here. Of note, nothing was especially great but nothing was terrible either. Many of the American-Chinese dishes were missing, but in their place were more things geared for kids. They had a full dessert station with lots of pies and cakes and cookies. They didn't have a lot of seafood but that was fine with me. They had sushi and a prime ribbing carving area. They had a koi pond and a panda display and a gift shop (!). In all, it was like walking through a movie based on a Chinese buffet. This is the flagship restaurant of the Mandarin chain and not all are like this. They told us about their signature "sweet and sour chicken meatballs", which are like sweet and sour chicken except each piece is the size of a golf ball. I remembered these were common in Toronto and not in the USA and now I know why. I don't think the food was better than average, but the experience was mindblowing. No doubt it is built into the price, but what a fun experience it was to come here. I would love to come back for a special occasion.

There were limited seafood options and included multiple ways of cooking mussels, shrimp. There is a sushi station with basic fare. There is a fruit station, ice cream station, cake station. There weren't many "expensive" Items, such as crab legs, but that's okay. Service was good, ambiance was good also. Food was above average. It was $45 for one adult for a weekday dinner.

It's effectively a way to clear some of their sides (two of: mashed potatoes, rice pillaf, soup, salad) but they also provide a fresh order of one piece of fish and chips. Not that it affects my rating, but they said they said they use blue cod for the app special. It's still enjoyable, but definitely a drop in size, texture and taste compared to cod or haddock (let alone halibut). I ordered another piece of haddock, and that combined with the special was more than enough food between my wife and I. But again, a pretty big difference in fish quality, so keep that in mind for any order (doesn't just apply to the app). But a very solid place and nice to see an institution like this still going.

Theyve always had great service and a good variety for ayce -- sashimi, sushi, pressed sushi, torched sushi, specialty rolls, teppanyaki, dim sum. It was a small portion & the pasta was very al-dente but I liked it like that. The rose sauce that was with the fettuccine was superb. I had the tiramisu ($10.00) for dessert. It was VERY mediocre & and very small portion as well (see pic). All in all this isn't a do-over for me. Too high priced with an auto tip of 20% which is why the service was what it was.
