Meaning to go to this place for a long time and finally made it. The first thing that you notice is a strong smell of fish and spices. Run by seems like a couple and ordered a Masala Dosa and Veg Kothu Roti. There are tons of sea food items on display the day I went. If you are sensitive be aware. Fairly clean and priced as well. Two tables to sit, but I guess all are takeout orders. The Masala Dosa comes square, which I am not used to as I like the cylinder shaped. So not too pleased with the shape, I dig in when I reach home and really pleased with dosa outer layer and the masala (the potatoes and onions and mildly spiced) mixture. Perfectly seasoned and very mildly spiced. I drink a spoon of Sambhar and it is amazing. Spiced and thick just like Sri Lankan style and tons of veggies and perhaps I tasted green bananas - wow. Amazing flavour, for sure hot as it was room temperature by the time I ate it, if you warm it up the taste will be amazing. The coconut chutney was the best I have ever had in Canada. Perfectly fine ground coconut and cilantro and bit of green chillies-amazing. The kothu roti was disappointing. The roti pieces too thick and spices were very odd for me and did not taste that good to me. Too dry and spices were something that I haven't tasted. The redeeming thing was that it had soy pieces and that made it a bit better. Wish there were more. Definitely going back for Masala Dosa, Sambhar (Lentil Curry) and Coconut Chutney

    Chicken kothu roti super yummy!

If you're looking for quick and cheap Sri Lankan food, this place definitely hits the spot. Their kothu roti is super tasty and the servings are very generous, the one serving was enough for two meals. I also got a mutton bun to go with my order and the mutton was incredibly flavourful. Their friend fish rolls are also really good when they're fresh out of the fryer. I had to dock a star just given the confusing and almost intimidating ordering process. Walking in, there were a bunch of people standing around and it was hard to tell if they were waiting to order or had already done so. Seems like they do a lot of preorders, so if I'd advise doing that so you're not standing around! There's a minimum spend requirement for credit, so make sure you have cash or debit if you're ordering for one!

    A feast for $40.

Great spot for rice and curry, short eats, and other delicious Sri Lankan and South Indian food. We ordered on-line which was super easy. The prices are great so we decided to try a vegetarian dish from nearly every category. You need to set up an account to order online but it was very fast. You can choose to pay at the store and you get 10% off your first order. When we arrived, more than half our food was already boxed up. The veg thali was put together after we arrived so we could pick out the dishes. We got pumpkin, potato, eggplant, cabbage, and dhal. Four of the five were quite spicy, with pumpkin being the mildest. The veg string hoppers come chopped up and the veg noodles are similar to a lo mein, but thinner noodles. Both were good and the string hoppers were noticeably spicy. I don't usually order kotthu roti because I only ate it once when I lived in Sri Lanka and the times I've had it in North America, I didn't think it was anything special. This kotthu has changed my mind. Both my companion and I were big fans. I believe his exact words were "Where have you been all my life?" Now the short eats. De.lic.ous. The veg rolls were my favorite - crispy crunchy outside chewy dough with a tasty filling. The veg roti were adorable rectangle blocks loaded with flavor. The samosas were cinnamon-y and on their own would be great but are overshadowed by the aforementioned short eats. The plain roti huge and layered inside. It's not as greasy as other plain roti I have had. The pol roti are thick little discs with course coconut mixed in. I'm used to a flatter pol roti with finer coconut shreds but they were tasty and I'm always excited to see them on a menu. I've been to my share of Sri Lankan restaurants and maybe 1 in 4 serves pol roti. They came with a side of pol sambol - a shredded coconut condiment made with chili and often Maldive fish. $10 will get one person more than they could possibly eat- a veg thali and 2 or 3 short eats/roti. All the mains were $6.50, everything else 3/$1 up to $1.99. Easy Carry is located in a new plaza with some other great looking restaurants. The ability to order online is unusual and much appreciated as many such places can be out of most things by the end of the night.

It is winter so it should be assumed we have coats. There were no coat hooks or coat check....surprising for such a beautiful and upscale place. The coats crowded our seats. They were kind enough to accommodate my need for water with meals by leaving a kettle with water for me. They do not leave jugs but our server, Snow, replenished the water for others regularly.. she was friendly, helpful and funny. Since I need vegan and gluten free the only items I could have were the salad without feta, yellow dal without ghee and plain rice. The fam loved the Afghan chicken tikka and paneer item they ordered. My dal was made without ghee as requested but was on the spicy side. The fam shared the chocolate cake and rabri desserts but zero vegan/gluten free dessert items. The decor is lovely and everyone was very professional. The meal was very expensive....well over $400 for 1 alcohol drink, 2 mocktails, 3 apps, 3 mains with 2 rice, 2naan and 1 parantha and 2 desserts. Hopefully you get Snow as your server as she was a delight. There was no DJs or live entertainment the night we went but they do have it on certain nights. It got very busy while we were there with folks of all ages. You can bring your own cake but they charge $5pp to serve it.

We have been to the OG VOI for more than two decades and have been really enjoying the restaurant…read more With the VOI we were very sure that food would be similar. We picked up some vegan chole, vegan eggplant, samosa, and vegan parathas, and tandoori rotis. The Chole and eggplant curries were very disappointing. Especially Chole - it tasted as it was made a novice and not a chef. Chole is such a Punjabi dish, that one is rarely disappointed. The eggplant curry was equally disappointing. It didn't taste as it came from a Punjabi restaurant. The spice level and even seasonings were completely off. The samosas were OK and so was the tandoori rotis. The Aloo Parathas again disappointing. Wondering how can one go wrong in making Parathas? Potatoes stuffed in between two bigger tawa rotis. That's how it tasted. We are not sure we are going back to this location ever again.

During our stay, we noticed individuals coming in and out for take-out therefore, the kitchen was kept busy with varying orders. The restaurant itself was large, and as we were told, a bar and event space was being built in the back for larger groups. Upon entering, we were greeted by a kind server, whom showed us to a table of our choosing. Since we were the only diners in the restaurant, we chose to sit in a large booth, which accommodated all four of us nicely. As we entered the restaurant, we noticed how beautiful the decor was, and how nice it smelled! Two very important points that we were blown away by. Upon sitting in the booth, we settled on two orders of butter chicken with plain naan and rice. We also decided on a thali, which had lentils, butter chicken, paneer with butter chicken sauce, yogurt, rice with vegetables, and gulab jamun for dessert. We only had to wait about 12 minutes for our food to arrive, at which point, we were starving, and looking forward to eating. We were pleasantly surprised at how delicious everything tasted. The portion sizes were large, and very well-portioned for each item. We also liked how the naan was included with the thali, and how generous the server was in providing extra water at all times. Our server came over to check on us as we were dining, commenting positively on the type of food that we had chosen. Considering how spacious the restaurant was, along with the inviting ambiance, top-notch service, and appetizing food, we were surprised to see it so quiet. Please fill this restaurant to capacity, as it is beyond amazing, and deserves to be given a chance! Will definitely come back when I'm in the area!

The reason behind the large menu is related to the aim of the restaurant, which is to showcase the various regional cuisines of India. As a result, don't expect the straightforward menu of: apps, entrees, deserts, etc... rather the menu is divided by cuisine. Aside from honouring tradition, they do offer a couple 'new' takes on some items.
