I had had some adult orthodontia done in California that was very misguided and really damaged my bite and teeth, having to then be redone. Dr. Beers fresh out of dental school was willing to take on the challenge and help me save my teeth from all they had been through. He has given me wonderful care ever since including multiple crowns and the prep work for one implant done by oral surgeon Chris Stegman here in TC (also wonderful!). Dr. Beers does have a little son born with cerebral palsy whose care was massively complicated by the Covid epidemic . If anyone had problems with scheduling with him during that time or even more recently I'm sure it was because of that, not because he didn't care enough about his patients. I would highly recommend this practice to anyone. Trisha P. Williamsburg, MI 5 star rating

I called beers Dentistry only to be turned away because Dr Stillwell is no longer there and beers Dentistry will not back up the work that was done within his office . Dr Beers is only about the money he really doesn't care about his patients . (Though it's not ethical, it IS legal for companies--because doctors and dentists are still companies--to charge MORE for their services than what is usual and customary for an insurance company to pay.) The woman I spoke to over the phone insisted they did. So, I made appointments for my two young daughters and went for it. We are new in town and have needed to get the kids to the dentist! The one star I am giving is for the hygienists, who was as sweet as can be and very kind. Then Dr. Feeney came in. His behavior was a bit bizarre from the get go. Babbling incessantly and trying to make friends in a weird way from the moment we came into the room. (What kind of a dentist gives kids CANDY before he looks at their teeth??!). Then, as he was trying to make my children comfortable he kept TOUCHING them. Seriously, don't tickle my kids. It is just not okay. No adult should ever touch a child without their direct consent, so the tickling really creeped me out. Then, when I tried to ask the Dr. a few questions about my kids' teeth, his response was both rude and condescending. When he began to sense that I was growing quite annoyed, he continued to babble on incessantly, for 10 minutes, about how I don't know him yet and that everyone likes him and that I just need to get to know him and then I will like him. Even this was condescending. And THEN when I went to check out, I was told we owed nearly $300 for this visit. I know my insurance, I know what it covers, and this visit should have been $100 MAX for both kids. Except that it turned out that they had done an extraordinary amount of unnecessary x-rays, without my consent. That is, instead of the normal series of 4 bite wings that are covered by my insurance, they preformed a series of panoramic x-rays, before even examining my children's teeth to see if there was a problem to look more deeply at. (I get that sometimes this might be necessary. But it is grossly unethical to preform something like this without reason and especially without first obtaining the paying guardian's consent!) I was livid. I cannot believe this guy has not been written up before for his unethical practices. Plus, well, given the Dr.'s demeanor ( DON'T TICKLE MY CHILDREN!!), I would never be comfortable leaving him alone in a room alone with a child. I think it's time for Dr. Feeney to retire.

Honestly, I've heard enough horror stories from this place, that I realized I'm doing a public disservice by not sharing a particularly traumatic experience about 7 years ago, when I was not a legal adult. My mother asked that I get sealant on my molars. Instead the dentist's hygienist "sanded down" my healthy teeth and then the dentist put unnecessary fillings in them! That is not sealant! I just switched over to this office from another dentist, because of all of their "cool new technology." Although I didn't have any cavities according to Dr. Sullivan, my mother asked about sealants on my teeth to prevent any cavities due to her fear of lidocaine given my neuromuscular illness. The dentist said he could put sealant in and would recommend it to prevent cavities. I was concerned during the process and asked that they stop to explain how this was sealant given that it felt like they were drilling my teeth, rather than cleaning them, but they wouldn't stop given that I was only 17 at the time, and told me not to worry that they had to make sure the sealant wasn't on top of any bacteria (this makes no sense in retrospect given that bacteria is literally everywhere). They told me this was regular procedure for sealant (lies). But it was only after the procedure, when we got the bill for thousands of dollars, that we realized he put fillings in, not sealant. We went to another dentist later, who said it wasn't sealant but fillings. I now have to get them replaced soon as one does with all regular fillings to prevent decay (with lidocaine). During the procedure, the dentist even called someone about buying something for his boat. After which fact, I should have jumped out of my chair and ran out. I know have a terrible fear of dentists, which I never had before, and I have to replace fillings on teeth that would not have otherwise needed fillings.
