If you come to the laundry mat here in 3rd street in Dekalb make sure you wash your hands at home and used the bathroom at home too no bathroom service here. The washing machines are 2.50 for medium and if you want high is 300 for the roaring are 275 for medium and 300 for high What is costly is the dryer because to get your closed completely you need 4 quarter or 4 quarters and is always full is small laundry room but is the closest to me. There is no one attending the machines or the laundry mat the second time I came here the floor was so dirty but that was as close As I can do my laundry during the below freezing weather There was even poo from a dog I was discussed agh Now the owner comes and cleans the machines Bring money here although they do have a change machine read more

There's enough washers and dryers that I can do 3 weeks of laundry at once but the dryers take longer than probably necessary, leading to more money spent. The drink machine doesn't work. The floors are sometimes clean, sometimes not. There's constantly powdered detergent left in the washers. It's convenient for anyone that lives downtown but it's not the best in the area. read more

At first I was apprehensive per the other reviews. However a friend of my mom's recommended it because of its cleanliness, comfort, and location to the downtown area. I was not disappointed. Great experience. Will definitely return. Cleanliness: Every night from 5-9 an attendant is there cleaning up from the day. I got to meet her Friday night and she was friendly and helpful and hard at work to clean up the mess that is easily made from customers. She said it was a top priority from the owner to make sure everything was clean. Machines: I washed 11 loads. I used the top loaders and front loaders. One of the front loaders had a soap build up but the attendant said that happens and after moving the comforter to another front loader she reimbursed me and quickly took care of the other machine. Safety: It is very well lit and I never felt in danger. I did out right ask the attendant about homeless people coming in and she mentioned that it was really only an issue in the winter with one or two people but the owners were on top of it. Police were called and she feels like since the incidents occurred she often sees officers patrolling more frequently in the area. read more

Tried going here again three weeks ago. Every washer was dirty, literally. The washers looked like they hadn't been cleaned in weeks. Powder detergent on the floor and on top of washers. Clothes left inside washers as if someone didn't check close enough when removing their clothes. There's only two extra large drums that are always full. They don't look like they'd clean clothes well anyway. Most washers are the type you'd have in your home. Too small for a laundromat. The front loading washing machines have a rubber catch on the inside of the door that never gets cleaned and socks get sucked under the rubber catch. Two washers were broken with the lids open so you could see the nasty, dirty water sitting inside the washer. The dryers are small. This place needs to be better maintained and cleaned. I ended up taking my dirty clothes back to my car and drove down to south fourth street. Oh and the girl who works there continually closes early. People will be left outside trying to get in to retrieve their clothes. There's also NO phone number listed to call someone. Poorly run laundromat. read more

Honestly, the machines work fine. The issue is the attendant. I posted a video of her yelling at me, please see above. Here's the basics for everyone to know. I've done my laundry here for a few months. I would mention to my girlfriend that I noticed sometimes when I would step out and come back to grab my laundry when the timer was up (always came back two minutes early or so) that the door would be reset, like what happens when the door is opened. My gf said I was paranoid. But then I ordered new underwear from Victoria's Secret and washed 8 pairs with the rest of my laundry before wearing them. I retrieved my laundry and all 8 pairs were missing. I asked her if anything was left behind, double checked my car to make sure I didn't drop them, checked the two machines I used and the ones near them. The attendant said she checks all the machines and nothing was left behind. I told her that I know they are not liable but I'd love for her to check the cameras just to see if someone went through my laundry. She said no, I couldn't see the tapes and that the owner was out of town for the next week and she wouldn't be able to contact them. I called the police. Why not show me the security cameras? There was a murder in Dekalb that night and police response was not available. A detective called me back much later like 11pm after this place closed (they close at 9). The detective had reached the owner and the owner said that the tapes reset after 3 hours and was unable to retrieve the video but that his employee should have shown me the video upon request because they aren't liable for my laundry but if it was stolen they should be helpful to their patrons. The detective basically told the owner and me as well that the signs are pointing to the attendant as the thief and the owner said they would speak to her. The next day I get a call from the police station saying that the attendant suddenly found them even though she told me she checked and cleaned all the machines I used and they were not left behind. Now she says I left them behind after all. She was heavily under the influence the next day when I retrieved them from her and I am happy to share the video with anyone who requests it. I will try to post a 12 second excerpt on the Yelp page too. So I got the panties returned to me, and threw them away and took it at a loss. I never asked the owner for reimbursement, no one ever brought that up. My gf and I have done laundry once since together and this time I came alone. I was silent when I came in, put my laundry in the washer with my earbuds in and she came up to me and began to yell about how I owe her an apology, and that she doesn't like girls (never said she did- you don't have to be sexually interested to steal so???) and then she proceeded to tell me that HER BOSS, THE OWNER, said "I'm not buying that bitch a new wardrobe". First of all, no one asked for reimbursement. Secondly, it's not a wardrobe she stole it's 8 pairs of underwear. I hope she's lying and the owner of this business did not say that, but based on her lack of professionalism idk maybe they did. She also yelled and stated all of this in front of two sets of other patrons and kids were present also. It's so embarrassing, honestly, and incredibly unprofessional. This lady desperately needs to be fired. She is frequently seen under the influence while she's working, never wears a mask, and even a detective in Dekalb PD believes she stole from me. read more

Machine didn't work, and there was no attendant there even though the sign says that there is always an attendant

Mostly, I really like this place. It is clean, well taken care of, and has a good amount of machines. Vending is always full, and even pop machine is good. There is a coffee house down the street [on Lincoln hwy] and the corner convenient store has kibble. No Major complaints. The few things affecting the review are 1] Coin machines are not always full (So bring your own quarters). 2] Probably not a tremendous issue,but no bathroom. 3] The large capacity washers front loaders do not fill properly with water [proof by putting 1 lb of clothes in, and water trickles out, gets clothes wet, but not proper wash]. And finally, 4] Local bums hang out and often sleep in there [which is probably a good reason there is no washroom]. In the past 6 - 8 months I have been there [early in AM],I have had to deal with bums coming in, scoping out the garbage, begging for coin,smokes, or sleeping.
