The table that was set for the 6 people attending, was well thought out and lovely. Every detail was put in with a lot of care. Tabitha greeted us and invited us to sit down. We weren't sure where to put our coats since we were all wearing multiple layers and had dress coats so we looked to the next room to lay our coats on a chair. Then the tea started we had 4 lovely locally sourced teas throughout the afternoon and so many small plates to go along w the tea. As pictured below along w an orange ginger spice cake, crumpet and several scones. I enjoyed everything and it was all prepared with a lot of details and care put in! My only suggestion would be to provide a menu ( whether written in the room or at each place setting) so that you know what's coming and can refer back to things you like. Tabitha was very knowledgeable about each plate and told us that the pastries were from a local bakery ( which were amazing). She also mentioned the savories were made on site! The teas were really tasty, and served in beautiful porcelain tea pots. My only wish is that they had been a tad hotter. I loved all the cross collaborations with local farms and businesses! Our experience was really amazing and Tabitha was open that it was there first time and I believe that this tea was more of a tapas presentation with all the amazing flavors and variation of foods rather then a tea that traditionally has small sandwiches and sweets accompanied by creams, butter and jams... do not get me wrong I loved everything I ate and drank. It was a heavy food offering that may have been better suited for a wine tasting or something along those lines. I was disappointed in how much prices have gone up and that some bounce space was taken away for all the video games (video game prices were high and it was hard to keep my younger kids away from them). It was something to do on a hot day for the kids though. Be aware that there is little to no structure once you are inside. Keep an eye on your children and moderate their behavior if you need to (there is no staff monitoring the bounce houses or floor)

You can walk in but they do require appointments for open tours of facility. Tours are Mondays & Thursdays only. You are buzzed into building. Greeted immediately by Neera. She showed me the available rooms for rent. There are signage requiring face masks. She wore hers but there was one person there working I guessed as a paid member ( customers are considered members) wasn't wearing their face mask. There are two floor levels of rental space. Depending on your needs the rooms can be for a single person needing privacy or a large group of 15. I was taken to the second location, Old Towne Road location. This location is much more modernized than the Penniman location but more smaller rooms. This location is a one level location and have a full kitchen access. Our "Welcome" to the park was some guy pulling up beside us and yelling: "Where the hell do you think you are going?... Not a good 'first impression"... Shortly there after, a young lady showed up and apologized for the guy's "rude" behavior"... Then another man showed up to help us to our campsite... Things took an upturn from there and we ended up having a very pleasant stay. After all this, the campground turned out to be pretty nice and most of the staff were friendly and helpful. Our site was right on the edge of the bay and very roomy. The amenities were fantastic, the camp store was well maintained; the campsite facilities functioned as they should. We would highly recommend this campground to anyone wishing to have an enjoyable weekend. A good place for kids to play and getting plenty of exercise. We camped at Yogi Bear's Jellystone at Gloucester Point in a Travel Trailer.

This was a terrific choice. We stayed in the John Rolfe room, which was a second-floor room with a king bed. Every room has a private bath, but we found that this room, original to the home, had a slightly larger bath than some of the others. The owner and host at breakfast was a terrific guy with a great sense of humor, broad knowledge, and a wealth of information about what to do and where to eat in the area. The breakfast was very good and each day featured coffee and orange juice along with healthy selections from the gardens. One day, we had scrambled eggs, ham, and fruit. Another breakfast featured a spinach quiche with home fries and fruit. One small word of caution. If you are a hearty breakfast eater who enjoys bagels, toast, and pancakes in large quantities and intends to skip lunch and have dinner around 6:30 pm, rethink that plan. You will have to stop for lunch or, at the very least, plan to have snacks with you. In fact, the breakfast area had a supply of chocolates and snacks, such as corn chips, popcorn, and potato chips, to take along. The location, right on Jamestown Road across from the College of William and Mary, was only 1/2 mile from Colonial Williamsburg and 5 miles from the Jamestown Settlement and Archaeological Site. Even with a 7-year-old and two seniors, it was an easy walk to Colonial Williamsburg and a short drive to just about any restaurant you would like, from fast food to a variety of cuisines like Chinese, Mexican, and Italian. I have no reservations in recommending this bed-and-breakfast.
