Pretty decent crab cakes (if a bit heavy on mayo) and good clam chowder.

Our room was beautifully appointed with crisp white linens, comfy armchairs, and the cutest decor. It even had a beautiful chandelier and recessed lights. Their rooms are $199/night ($219.50 with taxes).  They do have a two night minimum on weekend. Their rates include everything - many hotels add amenity fees, but they have decided to use simple, predictable pricing so their rates includes their bikes, surreys, kayaks as well as snacks and waters in their rooms and the use of their lobby/living room keurig. They sometimes even have food vendors come to the parking lot. Had a great pizza truck which was awesome to bring pizza back to the room especially since the Italian restaurant shut down during COVID. They have a Farmer's Market, boat and golf cart parade, Oyster Festival, Halloween celebrations, great boutiques with fabulous clothing and unique gifts and wine shops and great prices on antiques to include an awesome flea market. Occasionally live music. Which is the best! They has been limited during COVID but hopefully will start up soon.

The building was quaint with each room tastefully decorated with cool and funny schoolhouse memoirs.  Well kept grounds included a pool, vegetable garden, vines and bicycles, with close proximity to local restaurants and shops.  We enjoyed the balcony for Schoolroom #4 every opportunity we had. The claw tub bath/shower provided a functional look into the past while the outdoor bath  provided a unique treat of showering under the stars. We ordered the wine and flowers package and were delightfully happy to see that the flowers were beautifully arranged in a vase in our room.  And the wine chilled upon arrival just begging to be enjoyed. Our gourmet breakfast was sparse but tasty with fresh squeezed OJ.  And dinner hosted by Chef Meseret was exquisite dining at its best.  She loves cooking and it's reflected in her dishes. .. every item was fresh and flavorful with the generous crab cake entree a show stopper.  It was all crab.. no fillers, just a bit of egg to hold it together. We had an enjoyable weekend and hope to explore the area more on another visit.

She barked a few times and then nudged open the door for us. The check in process was super easy as Judith was expecting us. She was very friendly and showed us the house and to our room. The house was cozy and very homey and the bed was extremely comfortable! Coffee, tea, and snacks were always available in the dining room and Judith and Bill cooked breakfast in the morning. I had a mozzarella, basil, and tomato frittatta and my husband had the french toast, both with bacon. DELISH! Also breads, preserves, and homemade granola. We enjoyed our breakfast and chatted with Judtih and Bill for awhile. My husband left early and then i sat with a couple of our other friends and we continued to chat with Judith for awhile. All in all a charming B&B and fabulous hosts. We are hoping to have a reason to visit again! LOVED IT!

They had free wireless internet, so you can have some contact with the outside world if you like. This is a classic B&B, decorated in very soothing colors and liveable antiques. Coffee was put out early every morning, and the breakfasts were filling and tasty- with the highlights being what was made there- homemade granola and fresh preserves (jam). Bill makes great omlettes and bacon as well! The two labs, Abbey and Savana are sweeties, but only seemed to get used to us after 3 nights. They are protective and will bark, but in a way as to welcome you home. A quick rub behind the ears and they miraculously remember you. Urbanna itself is SMALL, so make sure you have activities beyond tea and breakfast- we just used the wireless to plan our outings each day. I was pleasantly surprised that our pet-friendly room not only had a door to the back garden (so you dont run through and disturb other guests) but there was no additional fee/rent. That combined with the great breakfasts make it very reasonable. I will be returning soon! p.s. location is wrong on map- located 1 block from Cross and Virginia Streets near the town center.

I feel so strongly about sharing my recommendation to stay here that this is my first-ever (and possibly only) Yelp review. The rooms, property, restaurant quality food, and service were impeccable. Sherry, Ridge, and Sara are so kind and will go above and beyond to ensure you have the best stay, even communicating months in advance to see if we had any requests. The unlimited ice cream and snack bars, speakeasy and all-seasons room were our favorite amenities, but the list is plentiful. Our room had a private patio with firepit, heated bathroom floors, a soaking tub, and so much more. It was beyond clean and comfortable! The icing on the cake: they are pet-friendly, and even provided organic dog treats to our corgi. We came in March for my birthday (they gave me flowers, a note, and a gift) and are already planning a trip back in the summer to utilize the heated pool, kayaks, bikes, and other outdoor activities. A must-see for a relaxing getaway or event, just a short drive to the charming town of Mathews. Thank you to our hosts for a fantastic weekend!
