Upon arrival, we missed the "Check-In" sign and ended up in front of an open gate. We went through the gate in order to park; then go find the Check-In point... Our "Welcome" to the park was some guy pulling up beside us and yelling: "Where the hell do you think you are going?... Not a good 'first impression"... Shortly there after, a young lady showed up and apologized for the guy's "rude" behavior"... Then another man showed up to help us to our campsite... Things took an upturn from there and we ended up having a very pleasant stay. After all this, the campground turned out to be pretty nice and most of the staff were friendly and helpful. Our site was right on the edge of the bay and very roomy. The amenities were fantastic, the camp store was well maintained; the campsite facilities functioned as they should. We would highly recommend this campground to anyone wishing to have an enjoyable weekend. A good place for kids to play and getting plenty of exercise. We stayed in the ocean front cottage. Perfect size for 3 adults and a toddler. Cottage comes stocked with kitchenware, stove, full sized fridge. They have an app you download upon arrival which gives you times of all of their events for the day. They provide awesome activities throughout the day and night. They have a petting zoo, watch out the alpacas will spit on you . Pony rides are offered. We loved the water park. Paddle boats and kayaks available also, unfortunately the weather on our last day shut down that option due to possible thunderstorms. Friendly staff!!! I have to say I can not wait to come back! After having such bad experiences at other camping grounds ( and I mean bad!) I'm so happy that we finally found a place that we deem worth the drive! My sister, two kids, and I went for the Wizarding Weekend Event that friends of ours had mentioned earlier in the summer that they were going to attend. Let me say, we all wished we could of stayed longer since there was so much to do with the event that we weren't even able to see the whole camp ground! The staff were all very friendly and patient with the kids they were working with. I will say they should really make sure to pay attention to where the parents are, there were times where I saw some (young 5-8) kids but never their parents. Yet it should be the camps responsibility to reinforce the rules to both kids and parents. That bothered me a bit but to each their own I guess. ‍ We had rented a cabin, the smallest ones they had. A bit pricey personally for only being able to have two adults and two kids able to stay but with my two young kids a bathroom and a/c is necessary. They were clean and supply trash bags, a paper towel roll, a small bar of soap, coffee machine and bagged coffee, microwave, and mini fridge. All you have to bring is towels and sheets/covers really. The only two downsides for the one we stayed in is that their A/C unit didn't really get cold. Even when we brought it down to 68 degrees it still felt like 75/80. Also their shower head was so powerful that it hurt when it hit you as well as their hot water running out after 15 mins. With 4 people that was a little annoying. Check in is 3pm and check out is 11AM. Walking around camp there were a few areas where it smelled like sewage, I guess we were lucky enough not to have that problem next to us but our friends weren't as lucky. Their camp grounds were nice and they offered a ton of different things for everyone to enjoy. Some areas did have holes in the ground that you didn't really notice ( due to the grass being high) until you fell in them and you'd end up covered in mud up to your knee. Again luck was on my side so it happened to my sister and not me. That happened to both our group and another we talked with. So that is a problem and they should consider walking the grounds every few weeks and fill these areas in. The pools by the front were clean except for the baby pool and your usual pool dirt. The only thing that did irk me about the pool area was that older kids (like 10+) would play on the baby slide and not pay attention to the younger kids. Even when they had the big slides open. And again, no parents around for these kids. Since there is no life guard on duty you'd expect parents and staff to be more diligent. The Bathrooms by the pool area were dirty but the ones in the back of the camp ground were clean. Best thing is they're actual individual bathrooms, so no random kid will accidentally walk in on you looking for "mom or dad" the same bathrooms house washer and dryers but I didn't use them. Nighttime everyone was already quiet around 11pm! I loved that part the most, you had people enjoying their time without being rude or belligerent unlike other camp sites we've stayed at. It really was a family friendly atmosphere. It was only our first time there and I'd like to hope every future experience will be just as good or even better as this one. I probably forgot a few things but I'm pretty sure this is a good enough idea of what to expect. read more

I absolutely loved this place! I'll be honest, I wasn't looking forward to be there all day but I'm so glad we were there to do all the activities. There was so much to do! We did not camp because we're from California, but as a person who doesn't like camping, this would be a nice place to do it. The only thing I didnt like was the hold up at the tie dye spot. Apparently many shirts were at the front shop and the staff kept calling looking for specific styles and sizes. It wasted a lot of time and we didnt get to enjoy playing with the water balloons. Loved the pool and the food! Overall, this place is amazingly fun! Oh and I highly recommend for Priscilla to get a raise as she went above and beyond to help us out! read more

We stayed Labor Day weekend. The family had a great time. The staff is very friendly and they have lots of activities for the kids. Pet friendly. The bathrooms were pretty clean for a campground. Fishing and crabbing was great. I loved that the dryers are gas dryers. Little things like that make a big difference to me. Didn't spend forever waiting on towels and clothes to dry. Our campsite flooded due to a storm and high tide but the staff was helpful and they even gave us a voucher for a free night stay. We have stayed at other bigger campgrounds with bigger pools and slides but our kids still prefer jelly stone. The wifi wasn't the greatest but that didn't bother us. We weren't there to be on our phones and tablets. The food at the snack shack was pretty good and the prices were fair. We will be returning. read more

We are avid campers across the country. Jellystone Park in Hayes was very inviting, quiet, and cares about each family. The folks at the Ranger Station were so nice and helpful! Very much a small town feel and friendly atmosphere. So much to do and we cannot wait to return! Sites 12 & 13 were home to us and our sons family for 6 days. This is one of our families favorite places to go, we have stayed on several different sites throughout the campground. Most sites are level, all are large enough for everything we need and then some. Some back in sites can be tricky to navigate, esp in the dark. We have always been treated well by all staff and had all our needs met within an appropriate time frame. We have always found the value of rates vs amenities hard to beat in the area. It's a very quiet family oriented campground and it's obvious the owners (and their staff) work hard to maintain the property to the best of their ability and upgrade when necessary. They did a great job this past week with a full campground, no power or water, and a lot of grumpy guests! Thank you for always taking care of us and making sure we have everything we need!! read more

Good for family outings. We rented a cabin, our daughter and her family rented another, friends brought a trailer on Labor-day Weekend. Lots of activities for kids, while adults went crabbing. As a word of warning, during a high tide several campsites were flooded, some in surprising places, I saw people moving tents and trailers to get away from the water. This campground continues to be our families go to destination for camping. Our only down fall is we wish it was closer so we could go more often! My sons enjoy the continuous activities. We booked here for a week. This is our 2nd time staying here. The first time in an RV site. The price for the week was good. The amenities and activities were good. The pool closes at 8pm which I thought was a little early. The place was clean and well kept there were a few unavoidable situations while we were there such a water main break that put us out of water for about an hour and a half. The main reason for the low rating is the staff are just not very nice at all. The lady working the desk the day of check in as well as a couple days that week was just not very friendly at all. The maintenance man an older guy was super nice and informative and the gentlemen that checked me out on Saturday was equally as nice. One younger gentleman stopped at my site to ask my husband about a toy guy and informered us they were not allowed on the playground as this would scare and intimidate other children. This was a harmless toy purchased at colonial Williamsburg which this location advertises as a local attraction. The guy was simply rude implying that this was an actual firearm. So the location is nice and clean the help is just not friendly,warm or inviting. I would most likely not stay again. read more

Way too much wrong with this place. We were in 38 ft motorhome surrounded by tents and tons of kids with no regard for our space or quiet hours. Rained so place was flooded - couldn't get in or out of coach without sinking. Golf carts and cars drive very fast making it unsafe to walk. Oh and sewer backed up so we couldn't use and Campground wouldn't give us credit. Roads in and out are very narrow. Grounds unkempt. Way better places to go. read more

Customer service was horrible, the people were rude. The way they spoke to everyone was uncalled for. Older kids were running around the children's area of the pool with no supervision one of the my kids got hurt badly, we had to scream for help...my other one was shoved down the water slide because he was taking to long. This has been our favorite campground for the last 4 years. It is the perfect size and run by a wonderful family. There are activities for the kids all day long, can't beat it! Our favorites are the jumping pillow, petting zoo and pony rides, craft time in the rec center, and of course the dance parties with the bears. The staff takes safety and rules seriously, which is what first attracted us to this campground. Highly recommend! read more

Grounds are in ok shape. The site next to me has a sewer cap that is broken so sewage smell is seeping out. Fortunately the guy camping there had a tarp and ratchet strap which he put around it and that helped significantly. My site is large and in good shape but the site on my other side is terrible and I would not have been happy if that is where I ended up. I do like that the tent sites are mixed in with the camper sites I also like that the showers are private! The staff are extremely friendly and the picnic basket is a must have for any campground (it's the little grill with food and ice cream). BIGGEST COMPLAINT IS THE SPEED AT WHICH PEOPLE DRIVE THROUGH THIS CAMPGROUND!!! STAFF INCLUDED!! Most campgrounds that I stay at are 5mph and you will be scolded by campers and staff alike if you are even coming close to going faster than that. Here the speed limit is 10mph and nobody follows it all golf carts that go by have the pedal to the floor and when the staff brings you to your site you are following them at 10+mph pulling a trailer. WAY TO FAST AND THAT SETS THE EXAMPLE FOR THE CAMPERS ARRIVING. Check in was easy and I would return but only when a special is offered. Overpriced for the condition of the campground especially when the pool isn't even open yet. Considering the site I'm in I give a 3 out of 5. If I were 1 site over I would give a 1 out of 5. I'm in site 93. Hopefully they continue re investing because you can tell they have made some improvements... But they have a ways to go. read more

It is quiet (no loud golf carts with speakers blaring music), it is clean & the staff is helpful & friendly. I've always heard about Yogi Bear's Jellystone Parks, but never tried one. We thought this would be great to rent out all of the cabins with our group for a trip. The first night, the digital key worked once, then we couldn't leave the cabin or it would auto-lock us out. I called the on-call Ranger, who was apparently off-call. No return call came, so I tried back and eventually reached someone. The maintenance staffer that promptly came out was great and quickly identified the problem and gave us a key to bypass the electronic lock until they could replace the batteries while we were out the next day. Other than not getting a call back, the response and service here was great. The cabins were nasty, though. There was grime from years of dirty hands on everything. The water barely had pressure, but made up for it with the worst sulfur smell I've ever experienced. You may not have stunk getting in the shower, but you sure smelled bad when you got out. Find another place to stay if you're looking at the cabins, this place is a bit past its prime. read more

Here's the rest, this place looks great. The customer SUCKS since the moment we arrived they were nothing but RUDE to me and to my guest. The entire time of my daughter's birthday party they did nothing but give me and my guest a hard time, made snide and very rude comments to me and my guest, proceed to yell at me and my guest because some of them had forgotten to get their wrist bands. By the time it was the end of the party they not only started to tear my stuff down, but also rushed us out. When I tried to ask if I could just pay for an extra hour, the manager one called me a liar & 2 said I couldn't pay for an extra hour because they supposedly didn't have any open times for me to pay for another hour which is the BIGGEST BUNCH of B.S. and not only did the "owner/manager" yell at my guest, she also yelled at me. They were supposed to have the pavilion I rented roped off at 1pm, but didn't bother to show up until 2pm & that's when the manager proceeded to call me a liar when I have 5 PEOPLE who can verify that the staff didn't show until 2pm. This place reminds me of an apple...Just because it looks good on the outside doesn't mean it's good on the inside. Not to mention they gave me a hard time about getting a refund for those guest who didn't show up. I suggest, if you want to go camping, or have a party. PLEASE DO IT ELSEWHERE. THE time and money I put into this to make my daughter's first birthday without her daddy who passed away was such a waste of time, and they had me so upset I was in tears. PLEASE DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY HERE!!! Hard lesson for me to learn. read more

I'll be honest, I expected a whole lot going to my first ever "Jellystone" camping trip. For the price, I'm expecting some thing similar to Bethpage Campground. I found it very displeasing. We were parked in the dead of sun, not a tree around/ which was the least of my concerns but the slides have weird hours- they close at 6. Two of the day's pools were closed. The grass was never cut at our sites, and the grass around the inflatable slides were past knees. Some of the staff was very friendly and others were not so much! I would not recommend this Jellystone. For the price you can stay some where so much nicer, which is sad because the location is perfect. read more

They have a fishing peer, jumping pillow, drive in movie, waterslides, kiddie pool and much more. I was very disappointed with the way my situation was handled. I rented a cabin for the weekend with my husband and three children. We arrived around 5pm Friday. Then around 3pm on Saturday, my husband went to play "capture the flag" with our daughter. Well the field they were playing in is apparently full of holes because my husband fell and broke his leg and ankle!! Therefore, we had to leave after my husband left the ER. I went to turn in our keys to the cabin and asked if we could get a refund (not a cash refund) - I just wanted to get another weekend because we weren't even there 24 hours!! The manager told me, I couldn't receive another weekend because "we cannot refund you after you have checked in." Seriously!! My husband is out of work for at least 4 months and has a ton of medical bills!! At the VERY least they could of gave us another weekend to come back! Terrible customer service!! read more

We had a wonderful 2 night stay in one of the cottages. The cottage was clean and the beds were very comfortable. There are plenty of things to do on the campground, and it is conveniently close to many attractions such as Williamsburg. The staff was very friendly and were quick to provide service. The pool and waterpark are well maintained and safe. We also enjoyed the "bouncing pillow". We look forward to staying here again. read more
