One of the better restaurants in Collingwood with really good food. It is pricier than others, but the portions and the quality is great. We were there with our friend Elena from Greece, so we were told what was best on the menu. Make sure to try the flaming Mousaka if you need to impress guests with a little flare. The scallops were amazing and perfectly cooked, actually the seafood was the standout of all the dishes. I had the beef sirloin souvlaki, and it was delicious! Others had braised lamb shanks, chicken souvlaki, and my friend had the seafood pasta with a ton of large shrimp, nice piece of salmon, etc... yummy! I was excited to try this restaurant when I looked up the reviews. But nevertheless I was quite disappointed. The service in the front desk was terrible. When I went in, there was a 30 minute wait. Which was reasonable as it was a busy weekend. So I asked the front staff if I can view the menu while we wait. So after viewing the menu and returning it we waited about 20 mins as a bunch of people that had reservations came in and had seats. Later a couple came in and wrote their names on a wait list. And I went up and asked the front girl why she didn't take my name when I was waiting for 20 mins. Her response was "oh I thought you were just looking at the menu". This was after I had handed her the menu 20 mins ago and was waiting in the front. I told her "well I handed you back the menu and stood here for 20 mins so obviously I was waiting to be seated" and she told "some people do just stand here...". I didn't feel like arguing so I let it at that. After about 45 mins we finally got seated. Although the front desk service was terribbblleee ... our waiter was wonderful. He attended to us well and went over the menu with recommendations. We got the octopus - which honestly I was disappointed in. The reviews were raving about this dish, and I did not find that it was that great. I also got the lamb shank because it was recommended by many yelpers... and again wasn't a fan. I was torn on what to rate Tholos. Being only my second time here in ages I recalled an epic experience from approximately 6 years ago, so my expectations were exceptionally high. That being said, the reviews of fellow yelpers helped to assure me that a good experience was in the cards. This is bar none the best place for dinner in the Blue Mountain Village. From a decor perspective it could not be any more perfectly Greek themed. Spread out over two floors, our group was given a space on the second floor. My one complaint is that due to the popularity of the place they pack tables together so tight that it makes movement once seated nearly impossible. What impressed me was their antipasto/bread offering that they provide you with once you were seated. Bread was standard but the pickled sweet caramelized whole onions were magnificent. My date and I decided to share in the Saganaki appetizer. I know it's cliche to order this, but you what they say... when in Athens... The dish was wonderful as well, and call me 5 years old but I almost squeal with excitement every-time they light the cheese on fire and say "Opa!" So much fun. For some, the standard Greek fare is usually Souvlaki or Gyros, for my hard earned dolla bills there is no other option other than Lamb. Greeks are to lamb as Italians are to Pizza and Asian nations are to rice. It's just what they do. The lamb entree came with 6 grilled rack pieces, potatoes and 2 sprigs of what I assumed was rapinni. The lamb was good, not great but good (4/5), I've had better but this was still pretty good. I felt they skimped on the veg and over delivered on the potatoes. Our group was rather large 10-12 so even after splitting bills there was an auto-grat charged on each bill. Although this is common industry standard, and I get that, I feel that just because you're getting an auto-grat doesn't mean you get to slack on your service. Our server was robotic, emotionless and kinda dispondant. Almost like once she saw the size of the group she switched into cruise control. I was toying between 3-4 stars and realized it was likely a 3.5 but not by much, so for that I award Tholos 3 Opas for delivering on most of the basics well and leaving some room for improvement. Definitely not as rewarding as my last experience at this restaurant. The portions at dinner time seem smaller than at lunch, and with higher prices. Salads for 17 dollars that don't even come with a lot of greens (just a few micro greens) but are just some elements that would go on a salad on top of a plate. The mousaka was a little bit too salty and a tad burnt on the corners. Not a great effort to be honest. The best part of the meal was the saganaki. The space is still very cool and welcoming. This place has been full of excuses every time I try and dine here. In the past I have enjoyed this place but it is so poorly run. Last week I went to dine there and it was closed. Just randomly closed at 8pm. Website indicates no reason, just closed cause, why not. I then tried to go this week (2 weeks of business trips) I wanted to treat my client. I look at the website, no reservations but least it's open. Course, I leaned before that means little to them. We arrive, they can't let me in cause they have a party reservation, I was a bit upset but then the greeter doubled down and said there are 2 party reservations then for good measure noted that a third big part is scheduled for later. I was confused cause on their website, before they even get to the food there is a "We do not take Reservations" disclaimer. When asked, she shrugged. The manager was near by but didn't even want to come and face me. In the past the food has been good but be warned, this is an extremely unreliable place that is clearly run by high school IQ farm boys. If that. Came to try out this restaurant while on my skii trip at Blue Mountains. The price is pretty high for students, but I guess it's standard for the restaurants around the resort. What I have a problem with is the attitude of the waiters. We walked in at around 5, when they had only 2 tables filled. But my group was taken to a middle seat when there were clearly window seats available. They informed us they already had reservations on those tables. It made me feel like we were being discriminized because we are Asian students, because when we left around 6 those window seats were still available. The waitress had a bad attitude as well. She didn't even introduce herself when she came to take our order, and she didn't come to check on us at all. She didn't offer the dessert menu as well, just took our dishes when we seemed we were done and asked if we'd like the bill, as if they wanted us to leave ASAP. The food was mediocre, definitely not worth the price if we were in a comparable restaurant in the city. This is not a good place to eat, I'll take my business to the Wild Wings next door the next time I go on a skii trip. read more

Staying at Blue Mountain for a few days - wanted to have one dinner out - called for a reservation - "we don't take reservations". Showed up Monday - at 7:30 - told we were first in line and to come back in 20 minutes. Returned to find out we would need to wait another 15 minutes - but we should do so not at the bar/lounge - we would need to go "wander" outside and return - it was during this discussion when the manager came by to say they wouldn't be taking any more diners for the evening. Turning us and 2 other couples away. I get that there was one big group that had come in - but really?- the restaurant is open for another 3 hours and the kitchen couldn't handle a family of 4?! Why not try a reservation system with a 15 minute grace period - it's not a new concept. read more

We were a group of 6 so their 17% gratuity was automatically added to our $566 bill....thats $75 for service I would never pay for. I am usually a very generous tipper at 20% minimum but that was so damn bad. So much attitude for the server. Not allowing me options, saying "Helllllooooo" to us when we didn't see him serving our dishes. He honestly didnt care about anything because he knew gratuity would be included. My husband and I we stayed in Collingwood for couple of days. It was my husband's birthday and I wanted him to have have a special weak after he finished his chemo. I phoned prior to our trip to make a reservation and was told that the restaurant doesn't make any reservations at this time but if I call two days before the restaurant might accommodate me. So I did. Spoke on the phone, specified exactly the date I was coming, October 13th 2021) and was reassured that my reservation was accepted for 5 pm. On October 13th,, thinking that everything was arranged, my husband and I we go to the restaurant to find out that the restaurant is closed for a special function and we are advised to find another place. Maybe the food is good in this place, I am not sure, I wasn't able to taste it but I am very upset with the way my husband and I were treated. I came here with the BF for late dinner after a full day of hiking at Blue Mountain and we were starving! At 10PM, the place was packed and we were asked to wait by the bar until our table is ready. The hostess was quite dismissive towards us, however, our server was a sweetheart. We were provided with our drinks and starter bread promptly, with a side of pickled onion, which was something I haven't seen before. We shared the trio dip as the appetizer and the portion was very generous. I regret filling up on this before my entree arrived. I had a seafood dish over quinoa (I forget the name) and it was delicious. The grilled octopus was perfection but the salmon filet was undercooked. Not sure if it only happens on weekends, but we were lucky to catch a belly dancing performance. We were seated right by the speakers, so I went partially deaf while the music blasted in my ears. Our server was very apologetic about that, and turned the music down as soon as the performance was over. Overall, this place is a good option for late night eats and drinks in the village. Got the chicken and co workers got the beef and fish. All were prepared well and everyone enjoyed their meal. A bit more upscale than the other restaurants in the village, so be prepared to pay. Our hotel restaurant manager recommended this place. The service was great we showed up with a party of 7 no res at 5:30 and they accommodated us. The place was slammed when we left at 7 (I would recommend making a reservation) The Bronzino was great, then again we love Bronzino (you gotta love whole fish baked to perfection with a simple olive oil, garlic, and Lemmon dressing). We also got the chicken supreme, it is a 1/2 boneless chicken stuffed with goat cheese, it was absolutely amazing! but the risotto it came with was undercooked. I booked lunch here for my work group while we were staying at the resort for a conference. Given that we only had an hour for lunch, I contacted the restaurant prior when making my reservation, and they kindly provided me with the menu to pre-order and ensure my group of 15 was able to get in and out within an hour. We were warmly greeted upon our arrival, and the food did not take long to follow. All of our orders were served correctly, and the staff were incredibly accommodating when one of our party members wanted to change their order mid-meal. New sides were brought out almost immediately, which was wonderful. Our waitress was particularly awesome - she was so friendly! One thing I must say about all of the staff that I encountered at BMR is that everyone seemed like they were in a good mood. How rare! I simply LOVED the decor inside the restaurant. It feels like you've been whisked away somewhere far from the ski hills! My group was visiting in "off season", so while other reviews mention how packed it was, we were the only group in there for our meal - it wasn't loud or crowded, so I'm sure that is positively impacting this review. I ordered the chicken souvlaki, and it was a big meal! Huge pieces of chicken and a nice tzatziki sauce. The potatoes were unfortunately on the 'way too salty' side for me. Went here on a Saturday night in July, we sat on the patio outside which was very nice! The restaurant had a belly dancer that danced around the patio for about 15 mins. My boyfriend had the chicken souvlaki, which was very tasty & flavourful. I had the Linguine Fresca without mushrooms nor spicy oil... very delicious as well!! Our server (don't know his name but let's call him Suave) was entertaining. We started off with the Saganaki and Scallops - excellent pairing and flavorful....especially when the server lights the Saganaki on fire, Woppa! I had the braised Lamb while my wife had the seafood linguine pasta - both again, excellent in flavour. Definitely recommended for fine dining in blue mountain. WAY overpriced for quality of food and portion sizes. The noise level was awful, couldn't here ourselves talk across the table. We had the 3 dips to start which were adequate. Small portion sizes and quality nowhere near as good as Greektown/Danforth in Toronto. The wine is a complete rip off, $18 for an 8 oz glass of a passable red. We each had the chicken souvlaki which was overcooked and dry, one skewer for $26. They have a captive market and are fully taking advantage of it. Very poor value. This place is definitely getting five stars. This is one of my favorite restaurants. It is, hands down, my favorite Greek restaurant in the world. My family and I have been going to Blue Mountain every summer for years now. We were very excited when this place opened up. There have been times here where the service could have been better but that was a while back. When we have gone recently, the service is always great. The food is absolutely to die for. The best part of this restaurant though is probably the atmosphere. They push open the large and gorgeous windows when it's nice out and feeling the breeze come in is so nice. The way it is decorated is so cool and like nowhere else I've ever been to. There's really nothing I have to say that is bad about coming here. Tholos was one of our go to places. Always consistent food and service never had an issue ever even during the pandemic years when restaurants were squeezed. Dined there last night - Tuesday August 22nd with my wife and daughters. Seated for over 90 mins with no sighting of our entrees. Server came back to our table 30 mins after we placed our entree orders to tell us they were out of Pork Souvlaki (a Greek restaurant out of Pork Souvlaki)? Dinner eventually came, plated poorly, cold and tough for some and undercooked for others - we all ordered the chicken. An hour after ordering and me asking where our entrees were, manager tells me they are out of one of the sides (every souvlaki dinner gets choice of 2 sides). We didn't eat out entrees, manager apologized and said she couldn't in good faith charge us for anything as it was a poor experience. So we left, many other tables in the same boat - waiting for food. Waitstaff arguing with kitchen. Our evening on our vacation ruined with no ability to pivot as it was now 9:40pm where in the village could we eat? Won't be going back after 13 years of being loyal Tholos diners. Absolutely rubbish. Don't open for dinner service if your kitchen staff isn't up to the task. They screwed you that night and screwed your waitstaff as they worked for free. Shameful experience. Tholos!! After coming back from my last trip from Blue Mountain, I kept telling telling my friends this place was called ThoRos ...Game of Thrones has warped my mind. My wife and I came here on a not-so-busy weekend and just wanted to hang out. As such, there were no lineups to get into Tholos (which from the other reviews seems to be an issue). Tholos is one of the nicer sit-downs in the Village, so lineups are expected. They've also obviously taken the time to decorate everything very well inside: think a homely, rustic 80's steakhouse theme. I had the steak and my wife had ...I forgot. Never mind, the main point here is the steak! Tholos has the best steak I HAVE EVER HAD. This is not a small statement. I love steak. Tholos delivered. HUGE. I usually get Medium-Well, and they did it perfectly. So perfectly that I thought it might be Medium-Rare, but no pink was seen. Tholos does their steak with a slight garlic twist: I love garlic. Usually if the steak isn't as good as I like, I'll order some blue cheese on the side to give it some flavor ...didn't even think about the blue cheese. A nice glass of red wine on the side and I was in a state of bliss when the meal was finished. The staff here were friendly and courteous enough, so no real complaints. The price was expected for this area, again no surprises (~$20-30/person). All in all, a very pleasant experience. Also, STEAK. TL;DR: Came here for the steak. Stayed. 10/10, would return. I have deep rooted feelings that every restaurant in the village is overpriced and not worth eating at. I always go into town instead where you can find much better fare at prices that aren't super inflated. That being said, Tholos changed my opinion. I had a wonderful meal here for a friends birthday and look forward to returning on my next visit to Blue. We had the saganaki and fried calamari to share. Both we really well done and enjoyed by the table. I got to taste a little from everyone's main and I can't say anything bad about any of them. The mousaka, steak, lamb, souvlaki.... all were worth ordering. I had the seafood linguini and it was incredible. So many restaurants fail miserably at pasta for some reason (even Italian joints, something I'll never understad), but here it was cooked to perfection. Served piping hot, noodles cooked perfectly, not stingy on the super juicy fresh seafood, and a tasty garlicky olive oil sauce. I will definitely be ordering this dish again. Prices quite high since it is the village (my pasta was $27), but it wasn't any more expensive than any of the other restaurants there. It's less painful to pay these super jacked prices when the meal is actually enjoyable. Service was perfect. Will go back! read more

Dined here during a little trip mu family took to Blue Mountain. To start, I loved tue overall feel inside the restaurant, feel very much so as if we were in Greece. We also had a lovely view of the slopes outside the front of the mountain. I must admit however that I did find it a little bit too dark in there, perhaps ut was because we were there for dinner, buuut a little extra light would have been much appreciated! I ended up splitting an appetizer and main with my boyfriend (don't inform the staff that you're sharing plates however, otherwise they'll charge an additional $8 which is ridiculous). Ordered the stuffed peppers and mousaka. Both tasted really good in my opinion, but the portions were certainly on the smaller side. Thankfully neither one of us was absolutely starving prior to dining here, otherwise we probably would have left hungry! They do give warm, complimentary bread which is nice. Unfortunately though, our server offered us another basket to which we said yes, only to find that we were charged an additional $4 for it at the end. After complaining that he did not mention that we'd have to pay for that offered bread, they adjusted it for us and all was good. Its most definitely on the pricey side, but thats most likely because its in a touristy location. read more

We went to Tholos on a Sunday and it was not super busy. We wanted to sit in the patio but the hostess told us she cannot seat us there (the patio was half empty) we asked her again and pointed out the empty seats and she still said no. When were taken to a small corner table inside which we did not like, after asking her again about the patio she finally agreed. We didn't really understand why she kept saying no and not providing a reason. Once we were seated in the patio we noticed many other guests receiving patio seats. The hostess was rude and had no manners about how to speak to people. I would not recommend someone like that to be the first experience a guest has at your restaurant. The menu had many options but the prices are very high in comparison to what you are getting. We ordered the salmon and the pasta, the food was surprisingly delicious and that's the only reason I am giving the place 2 stars. Before we received our dinner the waitress gave us 2 little sad pieces of bread (they looked like they were on a budge!) when we asked for more bread she said there is a charge, first time I have ever heard of a restaurant doing that.. sounds very cheap for a "high end" restaurant. Super loud restaurant! Can hardly have a conversation. Came to the village at Blue Mountain for a one night stay with the wife. It did get busy and we were seated at the bar. We walked in around 630pm and they had no seating tables left. Although the service could have the better, the entertainment was great. They had a belly dancer show in the middle of dinner. What a treat! The food now.. Saganoki is the app to get, definitely! It's flambe'ed cheese on a sizzling plate. Flame on! Chicken souvlaki was quite good! Tender and juicy, came with potatoes and veggie rice. Wife got the mousaka which is like a Sheppards pie. Dessert was a creme Brule, it was kind of cold though. Mediocre restaurant, but then again not a whole lot of selection within the village. I would say this is one the better places. read more
