Saw DR. Rogers at the Edmonds office and her and the whole staff there were excellent. I had to go…read morein for sinus surgery and I was treated with the utmost respect and care. Her and her team did an outstanding job and gave me a follow up call the next day to make sure I was alright. DR. Rogers is an excellent listener and really cares about her patient.

I contacted the Edmonds branch of Puget Sound Ears Nose & Throat to schedule an appointment. When I…read moreasked the representative on the phone how much I would be charged if my insurance did not cover it, she repeatedly reassured me that my insurance would cover the cost as I had Premera Insurance. Once I arrived and was getting checked in I noticed that the lady at the front desk was terribly sick. I was shocked that such a sick person would come to work to check in patients, especially at a medical clinic. However, this wasn't my main concern with this clinic. The doctor I was seeing was Dr. Rodgers. When she entered into the room, she simply stated "My name is Dr. Rodgers, what can I do for your today?" No smile and no handshake; she was very dry and serious. Every time I asked her a question, she would respond as if she was irritated and annoyed of me. It was such an unfortunate experience that at times, I considered getting up and leaving because I felt so uncomfortable. Even my husband, who was with me and who is also a doctor, was astonished by her terrible bed-side manners and poor attitude. Instead of discussing my concerns or explaining why I was having those specific symptoms (despite my attempts of asking and her annoyed, short responses), she simply prescribed some medications and sprays. It was as if she was trying to meet a quota and needed to rush me out of there. Despite what the representative stated when scheduling my appointment, Premera has now indicated that they will only cover a portion of this $500 visit and that I will be responsible for the remaining $300 or so. If I had known that the visit would be so costly and for such a terrible and useless experience/appointment I would not have scheduled it. I would not recommend visiting this clinic.

After the nurse left, I continued filling out my paperwork, and then Dr. Brockenbrough arrived and provided a great evaluation of my ears, nose, and throat. I was in and out of EvergreenHealth in 30 minutes! While the appointment was short, Dr. Brockenbrough was very genuine and empathetic. He cleaned out my ears for me, even though it wasn't part of the reason I was visiting for the appointment. He explained my options in easy to understand language, without making me feel belittled, and was responsive to my questions. In the end, he let me make the decision whether or not to proceed with a tonsillectomy, but made points to support not needing one. I really appreciated his honesty and considerations he shared with me. A note on getting to his clinic.... Be sure to follow the directions the receptionist shares when you make your appointment. There are two ENT clinics in the EvergreenHealth area, and I ended up starting at the other one by following the pin used on Google Maps (they said this happens daily). It is NOT the 440 suite on the "tan floor." This specific ENT office is on the other side of the roundabout from the taller Evergreen building in suite 400. Check with the information desk when you enter the building just to make sure you're in the right place before heading up the elevators just in case (and if you end up at the wrong ENT, it took 5 minutes or less to get to the correct one).
