Not to mention horrible pain, incontinence and more. She already saw the PA in this office who catheterized her TWICE because she didn't get it right the first time and then LOST or misplaced the urine specimen!! Give me a break. Then is told no as to seeing the actual doctor when we called to make an appointment with the referral to this physician. No thanks.

As a matter of fact, I have personally recommended him to some of my close friends who have experienced Urological issues. While I was in the Hospital with Kidney issues his bedside manner and explanation of the medical part of my procedure gave me a very positive outlook on what the future would be for me. Before undergoing the operation at Santa Rosa Memorial, I felt confident that I would be okay simply because of his positive attitude toward the procedure. But, I'm very…read moreshy, and I explained my last visit with his partner whereby a female came to prep me for a procedure, and I was totally horrified, shocked in fact. His comment was "we don't have any male nurses" & "they have seen it a hundred times", neither comment of course eased any of my discomfort. After explaining the options, we chose one, and he advised that the first procedure would require a female to show me how it works. I was aghast, I just explained to him how uncomfortable I was about that. At any rate, I called back the following week and canceled the prescription & first initial instructional visit with his female assistant. I came away thinking, these doctor's aren't really interested in helping you address the core problem, it's more of a philosophy of hey try these drugs (even though they probably have never tried any themselves) and they will be your cure. But none of them are a cure, it's just a continual cycle of doctors who give what they think is best, and patients relying on medication that really doesn't address the core issues, or adequately treat the problem. I'm left frustrated with our healthcare, not just with doctor's, but insurance companies too. Insurance always seems to come between what your doctor & you agree is the best course of action, because insurance follows the cheapest path of care. Interjecting themselves between you & your doctor, as if they know better than you & your doctor, just isn't right. The state of healthcare in America is horrible, and that's a person talking from decades of healthcare coverage. Imagine people with no coverage, or MediCaid. Why can't we as a society push for cures, decent medical care, less pills, more research, a system where doctor's are not handcuffed by the final decision of insurance companies. Dr. Kaplan was a good doctor, but he's in the rabbit hole same as all the other doctors. Hamstrung by today's inadequacies in our medical care system. Would I recommend Dr. Kaplan, and go back to see him? Yes I would, he's the best in his field that I've met so far.

I never had a bad experience, I mean no kid likes having to get a shot but we talked about it first so I could understand why he had to do something that slightly hurt (great injection technique). This Dr was one of several that were there for you when you needed them. I think Dr. Miraglia gave me stitches after an accident, my mom didn't want me to have a bad scar & knew that he was the best doctor plus he was willing to stay at the ER later to suture me up. I wish I hadn't had to move when I did cause I have never liked any Dr more than my original pediatricians! I always hoped that I could return to the area so any children I had would see Dr's I already knew & felt comfortable with. I liked that the office was full of experienced Dr's that truly cared. He almost snipped me as a newborn when everyone thought I was going to be a boy! I came out a girl. He has been the most amazing doctor I've ever had. He always had my mom and I giggling and happy, no matter if I had pneumonia or a small rash. He is absolutely like family to my mom and I. He also saw my brother most of his life, who is 30 now. We are both incredibly healthy and happy kids. This is more of a personal review, but don't let that review (that only one) with one review steer you away from Dr. Miraglia. Your kid will leave with a smile on their face, a new sticker every time (that was one of my favorite parts of the visit) and you knowing your kid is in the best shape they can possibly be. A lot of preconceived notions about diet - which I had probably accumulated in the 70's and 80's - were dispelled. I feel a lot more confident now about my diet, and don't have to guess. I also see an improvement in mood and my tendency to feel hungry and snack late at night. Very highly recommended.

Last year, I was misdiagnosed by Dr. Lowy. It was a gross oversight on his part, and I don't think…read morehe is fit to practice medicine. I had just returned from vacationing with my boyfriend and a couple of days later my back (around the kidneys) began to hurt so badly that I could hardly move. I went to see Dr. Lowy and told him of the pain. I also told him that it felt a little funny when I urinated. He diagnosed me with pancreatitis (a condition that I was told later by TWO other doctors that no one in their right mind would be the first diagnosis for an otherwise healthy person). After ordering that I get some blood work done, he analyzed it and told me that I wouldn't feel well for a couple of weeks, and to stay in bed. He told me not to take any aspirin or other pain killers as they would exacerbate my condition. After staying in bed without any pain killers for the two most painful weeks of my life, I finally gave up and had to go to the emergency room because my pain was excruciating and I had a temperature of 106 degrees. The emergency room doctor was able to diagnose me right away with a kidney infection, put me on antibiotics and send me on my way. The ER doctor told me that when I came back from my vacation I probably had a urinary tract infection (much more likely for a healthy young woman who just got back from a vacation with her boyfriend) that went untreated and spread to my kidneys. This UTI could have easily been caught by a simple urinalysis, which Dr. Lowy failed to give me. He did not listen when I told him that my kidneys were hurting. I am now paying off a $6000 emergency room bill for a simple UTI that went wrong because of this man. Do not go see him for any reason! You are likely to end up sicker than when you went in.
