She said if I continued having pain to return in a couple of months. It was clear that same day that the problem was not resolved. I didn't want to wait a couple months so I found a different dentist. He made 4 adjustments over the period of a year, and I continued to have pain. Finally, he said he needed to remove the crown to see what was going on. It turned out that Dr. Franco had left decay under the crown. The tooth was very irritated so he put a temporary on with the hope it would quiet down. It did not. Ultimately, he had to pull it. I wrote to Dr Franco and asked her to return the money that I had paid for the crown, and to pay to replace the tooth. She returned the money for the crown, but she did not pay to replace the tooth. The letter she sent with the refund said "as a courtesy" she was refunding the money. No apology, no acknowledgment of the decay she left under the crown, and no acknowledgment that I lost the tooth.

Have had good experience with her as well as the hygenists and the receptionist (Robin). Robin and Dr. Stead were able to accomodate me during the very next day they were open to re-cement a cap, which I appreciated. Dr. Stead does give off an aura of caring and my impression is that she does a thorugh job during exams. I have always felt that choosing a dentist is sort of like what a condemed man feels when choosing his method of execution (some states do offer a choice) but I've come to believe that if one has to make the choice I've made a good one with Dr. Stead, though we do differ on the necessity of routine X-rays which, because of the heightened brain cancer risk, small as it may be,I will not be getting anymore. I am amazed to have had zero pain after the procedure and credit that fact to the skill and care I received. I went to Groveland Dental and the staff was nice and I thought I should tell my daughter to use that office for her and her family. That changed when just a day later the cap fell off. I called the office and set up an appointment for early the next day because I was catching a flight home later in the day. I showed up to my appointment and was told the doctor 'had to step out' and not back until later in the day. They had my number and email and had not even taken the time to call or text me. So it was a wasted trip. I told them I was heading back to Minnesota and would have to have it replaced there. I knew my insurance only covered one time so I asked her to please not charge my insurance company the over $200 charge. She said "we won't do that because we are owed that because we did the work"! I said you did work that failed and she responded with "well we did the work and need to be paid". Unbelievable! I got back to MN and had the work done correctly and had to pay out of pocket because my insurance denied having to pay for the same procedure a second time. Obviously they care more about their fees than they do about their patients.

That's how you know this business and the team really care about their patients and see them and respect them as real people. Now, I can't imagine going anywhere else. The entire experience is a pleasure, something I imagine many don't say about the dentist. From check in and the friendly receptionist/admin team, to the hygienists and Dr. Brenney, I've never had a more painless experience at the dentist. The friendliness is a welcome respite from how loaded everything feels (literally) outside and the staff truly seems engaged and interested in your life. Cleanings are a breeze and Dr. Brenney is a true professional and extremely good at what he does. They explain things to me in simple terms and their pricing is very reasonable. Honestly, I can say without a drop of hesitation that they more than earn a 5 star review. I thought service this good was a thing of the distant past, and here it is in my backyard in downtown Minneapolis.
