DO NOT GO HERE‼ Jessica was my dentist and convinced me to get veneers done because i had some composite done by her that kept chipping. I ended up trusting her and getting the veneers done which cost me around $13,000. Immediately when I saw them I was in shock from how horrible they looked. They were huge, so bulky, and super opaque, they looked comical. I had these for a year now and ever since I got them my gums were so inflamed and turning gray. I've been in constant pain, and had to get them fixed multiple times by them, but they were never fixed correctly. On top of this, I knew they werent sealed right because I always had a foul taste in my mouth from them and also felt them clicking in and out of place all the time. I brought these concerns up many times and it was never addressed properly. I finally am in the care of an amazing specialist who fixed me up! But he showed me scans of all the work shes done on my mouth and my jaw was dropped. None of the veneers were sealed and he said if i didnt get them fixed, my teeth would have all rotted out. He also pointed out a crown she did on me that was also done incorrectly and needs fixing. I reached out to her about her MALPRACTICE and for a refund to which she rudely declined. I have been coming to Smile Glen Ellyn for about 9 months or so now. I need a few implants along with some other additional dental work. I have been very happy with everyone in the office. Everyone is extremely pleasant, and Dr. Jessica Gibbs explains the procedures thoroughly. They definitely have the best new technology in the office ( at least compared to other practices I went to previously). But most of all, my dental work that I have had done so far has been pretty pain free including a few extractions and setting posts and caps for some future implants. If you are looking for a new dentist, I highly recommend Dr. Jessica Gibbs and the rest of her staff. read more

so here we are post surgery to remove the driver Gibbs dropped down my throat into my LUNG and NEVER TOLD US. Having paid smile glenellyn in full I didn't have mush choice but to finish the upper implants. my next visit I told his assistant that Rinsing my teeth with mouth wash it went up into my sines cavity. she didn't believe me and got Gibbs. sure enough he put an implant into my upper jaw then removed it because he put the implant in to far and removing it left a hole into my sinus. So now I have another Cost to have the hole fixed by another oral surgeon. Oh there is more by far. read more

Dr. Gibbs, I am extremely saddened and disappointed that I have to write this letter. At this point due to the tremendous pain, suffering, costs, and general mistreatment by Dr. Gibbs and his staff, Today was the last straw of the calamity of errors I have experienced with your practice. Fast forward 3/4/2020 again I was having more work on a tooth that popped out. The next day 3/5/20, I was in excruciating pain from the work that was done prior. I had to take a pain pill since the pain was so bad. The next day I arrived at approximately 11:45 am and seated in the dental chair, only to wait another 30 min or so., the pain pill I had taken at home was starting to lose its effect when Dr. Gibbs finally came in to evaluate my issue and said to hang on since "I have to take care of a patient" and stepped back out of the room. To my surprise, Jill walked into the room. She has a clipboard with her with an invoice attached and wanted to discuss what charges will be incurred. This was caused by Dr. Gibbs yesterday. I stated that there is clearly an imperfection in this denture to which she replied "well you can't just get repairs for free" as she storms out the door. I'm at a loss for words as I don't even understand what just transpired. My patience is now wearing thin and the pain is even more intense that I feel like throwing up. I am also being made to feel like I'm not important anymore as I overhear Jill say from her front desk, "I will call the police if you don't want to leave". I was wondering what the commotion was all about and was shocked to find that she was referring to me. I was never asked to leave and called for the Dr. to please come into my room as the pain is getting worse. It's now just after 2:00pm - 2 hours later - Jill then came back in to the room with Dr. Gibbs as I continued to explain that I came in here because of a missing tooth that has been repaired twice and now I end up sitting here in excruciating pain that was not caused by me, but by the Dr While trying to screw into the implant the day before and was sent me home instead of removing the implant at that time. Dr Gibbs seemed agitated and then grunted but started to prepare and correct this issue. I tried to ask the Dr. to not be upset at me, because I did not cause this, to my shock Jill was standing behind the Dr. animating with her hand for me to close my mouth and stop talking. I'm simply appalled at the complete lack of professionalism. If my products and work to my customers was this terrible I would be completely mortified and apologetic. Here, they seem to just want to brush everything under the rug hoping I will just go away. The Dr. Gibbs Then proceeded to remove the acrylic covering the bridge screws again. He removed all the screws with no issues until he tried to remove the one spinning with the implant. The pain was terrible! He gave me a shot to numb the pain and then started to pull on the bridge for 5 seconds with the implant still in place. The pain was so bad; I clasped my hands and shook for several minutes stopping the dentist. He then gave me another shot into the gums which seem to numb the pain as he struggled, pulling and twisting for about 10 to 15 secs until the implant came out and I was sent home numbed up, feeling like I just got kicked out as a patient. The same day, I started to experienced terrible pain up the left side of my face, I couldn't take it. I was giving no care instructions when leaving the dentist, no prescription for pain or antibiotics. I had to use more of the Norco pain pills I had in my cabinet. It is still hurting (4 days later) Three months later, I was celebrating my grandson's 1st birthday eating a sandwich when I felt the upper portion of my denture seemed to crack. The next day my three front teeth fell out in one piece, exposing a metal bar! You have clearly sold me defective dentures and you keep trying to patch it up with a tweak here for $1600.00 and another tweak there for $1500.00. And now today, we have yet another issue. Obviously, the integrity of the structure of this denture has been weakened since it was never right from the beginning. Finally, I have now lost 4 of my original implants and paid for two more to be placed since being a patient, and now in need of another two implants to support my upper bridge. I am also now expected to pay for an original issue of a damaged tooth on upper bridge which has been repaired twice. I personally feel your office owes me a huge apology, as well as a complete upper and lower denture replacement with the necessary implants needed, or refund for the two pieces of crap you placed in my mouth that are worthless! I feel completely betrayed because I trusted you with my body and used the experience you speak of to make that decision only for it to result in my constant, overwhelming pain, and shame from the failure of these products you've placed in my mouth. read more

I have been a patient of Dr. Thomas Gibbs/and and now his daughter who is also practicing at smile Glen Ellyn for 20 over years...They are clean, they use modern technology...Barb, their/ (my) Hygienist and all his staff have always been friendly and professional. I have always been treated fairly and would recommend to anyone. The last few years I have used his dental savings plan and think it is a great value in comparison to traditional dental insurance. My experience with Dr. Jessica Gibbs was unlike any other I've had at varying dental offices. I would definitely rate her as a Subject Matter Expert in all things dental. Although this is fine and well, let's discuss her technique and application. ASTOUNDING! I have now gone to her several times for teeth cleaning, and have also had three fillings done by Dr. Jessica Gibbs. When it came time to have my teethed filled, I was very nervous, but as soon as I got in the chair and she began the procedure, she did a very good job at keeping me calm. Not only that, she had a very gentle way about her, and I didn't feel a single thing -- believe it or not, I didn't even get a shot of novocaine! YES, he is an amazing doctor and is always available to you. However, he is very very expensive. When I discussed this with his staff on the phone when confirming a bill payment (I have since overpaid twice by the hundreds and had to wait weeks for my $ back,) the staff said that he creates his pricing by doing a survey of the area. She said we are not the most expensive "for the area." It is very off-putting as that doesn't seem to justify prices. Here is an example.... 1 crown and root canal on a bicuspid (fairly "easy" tooth to do this on) will cost you $2,843 (includes x-ray and core internal build-up.) Ask others, that is significant. read more

I have been going to Dr. Gibbs for 26 years and he has provided me, my husband and my elderly Mother excellent care with the utmost compassion. His staff are all very knowledgeable and very friendly, always trying to make you feel comfortable and afford you the time without ever feeling rushed. His entire staff has been with him for many many years which says a lot in itself on how he treats his employees as well as providing quality care to his patients. I see the reviews on the expense issue, and I think sometimes people do not always understand what it all takes to perform the type of work he does, the state-of-the-art equipment he uses and that every individual is different in their dental needs. Payment plans here are easy and smooth and only took me 5 mins to setup and get approval. I got two front dental implants here and a deep cleaning. I would suggest this dental practice to anyone. I have always been nervous about seeing the dentist and needles. Dr. Jessica Gibbs put all my concerns to rest. I was made to feel comfortable and knowledgeable about every step we took. The front staff was extremely welcoming, and the office is absolutely beautiful. I felt Dr. Jessica Gibbs really took her time and throughly assets my treatment plan. When I returned to carry out our treatment plan, there was no pain. She really is a gentle dentist I really appreciated that ,compared to the past male dentist at other offices that were very rough and short with me. My smile is beautiful! I got night guards and instructions on the appropriate toothbrush to use. I never got this anywhere else. No one told me about over brushing!!! Dr Gibbs charged me a massive amount of money to do a few X-rays, insisted that there was nothing wrong with the tooth I was complaining about, and now after a second opinion I have found severe complications with my tooth missed by him. He also insisted on a cosmetic repair of a different chipped tooth that didn't last more than a few weeks. Throughout my visits neither he nor the staff got my name right after several corrections and then while trying to pay his exorbent bills he threatened to send bills to collections / lawsuit at the same time I am seeing other dentist to mitigate the negligence in his care. read more

The office is clean and the ladies at the counter and the hygienist were very nice. But that's about it. Dr Gibbs urged me to get $1200 worth of work, get braces immediately, and get a wisdom tooth out "because you will get an abscess" (it's been fine for years.). He missed a very clear fracture in my teeth on the x Ray that I have had for years, which is why I never had braces and still cannot. I came back for a second cleaning, and with looking at the exact same x Rays as 6 months ago and not even looking in my mouth, he recommended $2400 worth of work. I immediately went to my old dentist (out of state) and he could not justify any of the work. I feel I was being scared into getting crowns and fillings refilled because "they are loose". The office sends out a lot of mail promoting "open houses" and I received letters, emails, and texts (yes all plural) to confirm one appointment. Um, next time a phone call a few days before will suffice. I will be searching for a new dentist. read more

I was referred to by a friend, unfortunately I trusted her. Dr Gibbs, while injecting numbing medicine was looking out the window, yes, the needle was in my mouth and his eyes were on the window...?!?! His dental tech did the same thing while holding tools and that light thing in my mouth, not only was she resting it on my jaw which was uncomfortable, she wasn't paying attention. Unbelievable! Except it wasn't the worst...when I had pain with the drilling he laughed, he mocked me, told me I shouldn't feel it, told me I shouldn't be nervous, he gave me more medicine, but after poking fun at my pain and anxiety. I'm sure he doesn't intend to be rude, maybe he thinks the humor makes people more comfortable, I did not. It was so uncool. When I requested my records and X-rays for another dentist, I was given my old X-rays, not my latest ones, and not my entire record. Unprofessional through and through. read more
