I had 3 crowns done , which 2 had come out . my wife had 2 and 1 had to be retreated . had a glue break off during a root canal and they left piece in and put crown over it . they have a terrible warranty !!! they also tell you your ins covers stuff but you find out 3 mins later they don't cover it ! after 1 yr of service your your SOL if you need anything redone !!!and try to call customer service, you wait at least 15 mins on hold !!! terrible company!!! read more

Glen Ellyn Location - I hate to do this but I definitely DO NOT recommend Dental Works! It all started when I received several text messages that I'm over due for an appointment and when I tried calling 3 different phone numbers (ph.# provided in text message, ph.# provided on website, and ph.# on my dental insurance card), the answering service takes your information and tells you "The Office will get back to you to schedule your appointment" and then they don't! The online scheduler doesn't work, you enter all your information but there isn't a "submit button". Then I thought let's go into The Office to schedule and although it reads online that they are open there was a key box on the door as if the property is for sale, no one was there. Also, I've noticed every time I had gone in the past it was always a different Dentist, they literally have a revolving door of dentists in/out of this location. Terrible customer service. Even if the hygienist and dentist is great, I will never go here because they will tell you that your insurance covered the treatment, then a month later you will receive a large bill, and it will be impossible to get ahold of someone to help. I have called the office, and some rude guy said the manager will call me; never happened. I call a week later, and they outsource their customer service so some other unhelpful person will assure you that the manager will call you and of course that never happens. I explained that I have already been through this, and the "manager" never called me like they said they would last week. The guy promises that he is sending an email, and I will get a call by the end of the day. NEVER HAPPENED. GO anywhere but here for dental work. Fraudulent Charges and Terrible Customer Service I want to warn others about my terrible experience with this place. I was charged multiple times for services I had already paid for, and I was even billed for services I never requested. Without notifying me, they sent my bill to collections, causing unnecessary stress. I've been trying to resolve this for weeks, but the front desk keeps saying they'll contact their "bosses," yet no one ever responds. The customer service is absolutely terrible, and the practices here are fraudulent. I'm not usually one to write reviews, but here I am. Do not come to this business!!!!! Not only is the staff rude and unprofessional, but they do not take care of their customers the way a business should. I was given a cap by this business and less than six months later it broke off. I was told that they would fix it free of charge. However, a few months afterward, I suddenly started getting bills with zero explanation. I tried reaching out to the business several times for an explanation but unfortunately they cannot keep a dentist so they're often closed OR the phone just rings off the hook. I have been getting non-stop mail stating that I have an outstanding bill from this clinic for 4 years now. I've called to clear this up with the clinic and they apologize and tell me they will get this error fixed as they can see I'm all paid up with them. This doctor has a serious problem with WHITE MALE PRIVILEGE! He talked to the assistant like she had never worked before "it'd be better next time if I knew the patient's name and that he needed a comprehensive work up" NO that's YOUR job. On June 14th, 2023 I received a call saying that my appointment was cancelled yet when I called the receptionist he told me that it is showing that I am still on for that day. I ended up driving over there for my appointment and then was told that there was no dentist or hygienist available that day. This place is truly aggravating! I said to the receptionist that I was told that I was still on and that I drove over there expecting an appointment. He apologized and I told him that it sounded like he was the one that mentioned I was still on. Of course he denied it and then said we can set up another appointment on a Thursday or Friday since this new dentist only supposedly works on Thursdays and Fridays there. I hesitantly set up an appointment for July 7th, 2023 and was sent a confirmation saying that I had an appointment that day on the same day as my appointment! I drove down there again for my 10 a.m. appointment only to find the door locked and no lights on in the building. I phoned and the receptionist answered and said nobody was available at that time. I told him that I drove down there for the 2nd time since once again I received no notice of a cancellation. I told him this dentist is way too unavailable and this is bad business to not even notify me of a cancellation. I told him that anybody would be angry about driving over there and then finding out the appointment was cancelled. I then told him I will be finding a more reliable dentist! Made an appointment for a routine cleaning after transferring from another dentist downtown. I managed to spend TWO hours here and left WITHOUT my teeth being cleaned. I was told by the hygienist that I needed a deep cleaning which would set me back $700. I told her I couldn't afford that and would just like a regular cleaning knowing that's covered by my insurance. She continued to try to sell me on it with payment plans, etc. After much back and forth she said it was either the deep cleaning or nothing at all. It felt like a horrible timeshare pitch but without the free pina coladas. Such a scam and complete waste of my morning. Now off to find yet another new dentist! read more

Today I went into the Glen Ellyn office to review a tooth that had been previously examined and filled. I have been experiencing severe discomfort and needed to get an appointment asap!! I had previously visited another DentalWorks office-- which was unable to service me with in the next two weeks. The previous office was more than helpful to find me another location and I am very grateful they were able to direct me to the Glen Ellyn loffice!! The office staff is welcoming, very friendly, and genuinely honest! The dental assistant is very sweet, patient, informative, and most importantly gentle! Dr. Paul Doodes is above and beyond a brilliant dentist with great knowledge and skill set! I was most impressed that he walked me through each step of the service and was patient enough to teach his assistant as we went along! Definitely made me feel most comfortable as they worked on my tooth. Overall-- great experience and will definitely be returning! read more

I do not recommend this place at all. I took my son at Glen Ellyn location which was minutes from my home for the orthodontist treatment (to get braces) and was made to pay all the money upfront. The orthodontist changed office locations in the first 6-7 months to the Chicago location which was more than an hour away!!! I took my soon for a few sessions to Chicago and was informed that the orthodontist is leaving the practice and I'll have to start going to Bloomingdale location to get my son treated. For the second appt at bloomingdale, the doctor didn't even arrive for the appt and we had to leave after waiting for more than an hour with my son missing his school. I was also asked to pay an additional $250 claiming that the initial lump sum amount was just an estimate - this is insane. The staff is very unprofessional and I feel stuck. There is still an year of treatments left and I have a feeling these folks are just going to take advantage of the situation. As per contract, there should be no additional charges except for non orthodontist work like tooth removal for which I've already paid out of pocket once earlier. STAY AWAY! read more

This place is a total scam. The hygienist suggested deep cleanings which were totally unnecessary. The ortho manager quoted me a very low rate for "comprehensive" ortho services and later defrauded me saying it only covered phase I even though the contract clearly states otherwise. They weren't even in network, yet took my case and even tried to bill the insurance, Now I am out of $1250 and have to go to another ortho and pretty much start all over. Plus their so called "care quality team" will never call you back if you ever have any issues. I have filed a BBB complaint and also a complaint with the IDFPR to investigate this firm. I have been a dental works patient for 2 years now. My last 2 appointments in 2018 have caused me to start looking for a new dentist. When I was in the office on 1/17/2018 for my cleaning I was told that they do not run the fluoride treatment through insurance and I was told after the fact that it was $50. Fluoride can be submitted through my insurance. In fact dental works did submit it in October 2016. I am currently fighting with them on this and hoping to get a refund. I was scheduled to see the Oral Surgeon there on 2/2/18. I was supposed to get 2 teeth pulled that day. The oral surgeon walked into the room and said that I would need to be put out to have these pulled, which he determined from my previous x-rays. If he would have looked at the x-rays before my appointment he would have seen this issue. So my appointment to have teeth pulled turned into a "consult" which cost me $50, no new xrays were taken, all was determined off of previous information. I was never notified of a consultation fee until after the fact. I am currently fighting with them on this and hoping to get a refund. read more

I went to Dr. Layla Baidas, DDS for the 1st time a few weeks ago. My front tooth veneer fell off!!! Which is my worst nightmare being in real estate. I could not be more thrilled with the outcome. Dr. Baidas is so caring & a perfectionist (like me). Your comfort is a huge priority with her. I had my new veneer put on today & it looks fantastic!!! I can smile again. I use to go to the Dentalworks in Oakbrook before the office was closed and moved to Glen Ellyn. From the first visit I could tell the quality of care had dropped. We waited over an hour from our scheduled appointment time and in that time no one checked in on us. I gave them a chance and we did end up seeing the dental hygienist and dentist. In the past my son and I haven't had any issues with the staff. We don't feel it necessary for a six year old to get X-rays if there are no marks on his teeth or pain. Today the new dentist there wasn't "comfortable" giving my son an exam without X-rays. We have never had this issue before, the previous dental hygienist and dentist didn't push for him to get X-rays, they just educated us on the benefits. Today I learned that this location lacks empathy and compassion for their clients and are more interested in adding services to bill the insurance. I will never return to a Dentalworks office. I was able to find a family practice that isn't a franchise and they assured me that they never push anything on their clients unless they find an actual reason. read more

I unfortunately put off getting things done until it was mandatory! Thankfully, I found this office. The entire staff is fabulous. Dr. Patel is amazing and explains everything he's doing every step of the way. Deb is a world class dental assistant and makes a mean temporary crown! Plus, she's funny! Hygienist was good and professional. 2nd Appt - After cleaning, I was informed the dentist had to leave and I will not meet with him for that appointment. 3rd Appt - While hygienist was preparing, I asked if same dentist is there and was informed he is gone and they have two new dentists, but they are not there for my appointment. I found this place to be very unprofessional. As a first-time customer I wasn't treated in a fashion that indicated they wanted to do business with me. A lot of joking around a lot of sarcastic remarks from the staff. The hygenist kept making comments about what a bad patient I was. When all I did was reacted to the pain she was causing me. I was extremely disappointed in DentalWorks of Glen Ellyn. I called them to see if they were able to tell me the cash price for a root canal over the phone. The woman on the phone told me $200 - $400. I was very surprised because that is very low for a root canal, so I confirmed with her multiple times that was actually the price for a patient paying cash with no dental insurance, and she continually confirmed it. However, after sending my Mom there for an appointment later that very day, the price was actually $1,200. If you bought their private insurance policy for $79.99 (for the year), it was $800, both prices are nowhere near the $200 - $400 they quoted me over the phone though! They even said they gave me a much lower price, but this specific tooth, being that it's a back molar, it's more expensive. When someone says $200 - $400, that means $400 is the maximum price. Additionally, I'd like to know which exact tooth they charge $200 for a root canal for. I'm fairly confident that they just completely lie over the phone to get you to come there so they can try and take advantage of people. My Mom is 75-years old, and I resent them for trying to take advantage of her and wasting her time! Furthermore, they called her 7-times the next day. I'm sure they are still calling her, but I haven't talked to my Mom again about it. I'm going to block their number on her phone. I highly recommend staying away from this place! When I called to discuss my bill, Andrea referred to a document I signed where the small print said I'm responsible for what's not covered. If there was an option for zero stars I would have clicked it. My issue is with the billing department. They continually overcharged me for every visit. They defrauded me and my insurance company by charging me 50/50 split demanding payment before we left the office, then charged my insurance company 80/20 split. The only reason I figured it out is that the insurance company sent me a check instead of them. I called the insurance company and reviewed all the charges to realize they had scammed me out of a couple thousand dollars over a two year period. I had to go back to the office several times to get it worked out. They were not very apologetic and blamed it on lack of training. In my opinion, they are scumbags and I would not even send my dog there. Save yourself the headache go somewhere else! I have never found a need to write a review ever, but in this case I am hoping to save someone else from dealing with the same issues.
