I used to have a go-to sandwich shop back in the Bay (CA), and they used actual fresh turkeys cooked daily. so my expectations were high. but i will say for a deli sammie, this place isnt bad. would come back and try a different sandwich. can't replace my old shop. Service - Super friendly! The owner started chatting with us and he just felt like the regular neighborhood deli guy they show on TV shows. Good vibes. This store just kept amazing me. I'd had sandwiches from the amazing deli before, but now that things are opening up I actually ventured inside. IT. IS. BIG. You'd never expect it from the streetfront, but there is a ton of space straight back. This is a solid option if you are craving a breakfast sandwich in the neighborhood. The market has bagels near the front window. You select the bagel flavor you want (Asiago and Everything were available today!) and then hand the bagel to the employee to make your breakfast sandwich. The standard Breakfast of Champions sandwich is peppered bacon, egg, and cheese (Cheddar or Swiss). I was told they had just run out of bacon and could sub with any meat I wanted that was available for deli sandwiches. Ham, egg, and Swiss on an Asiago bagel pictured here! The bagel was buttered before toasting and the sandwich was topped with a sprinkle of Italian seasoning. This is delicious [not hungover] and would definitely hit the spot if you are hungover. I had an amazing experience at Thomas Street Warehouse. I went for a quick lunch, had six dollar chicken sandwich that was so crispy and flavorful with their match sauce. I had these ridiculous chicken wings tossed in hot lemon pepper sauce. The co-owner Aaron who served us was super friendly, very accommodating and recommended great options. He gave us a new inception shots that made my entire experience in Seattle worth it, definitely ask for it. Oh. My. God. Becky, look at the beer fridge. It's SO BIG! I wandered in here recently after spying the beer refrigerators. They have an unparalleled selection when compared to other small mini marts. I used to frequent City Market when I lived on Capitol Hill but now this will be my spot if I'm back in the area. They make sandwiches, they sell all kinds of snack foods, prepared foods, bagels, candy, laundry detergent, lightbulbs, eggs... its crazy! The store goes back so far you almost think there are mirrors placed around to make it appear as big as it really is. Best of all though the 750s of beer were incredible. There are dozens of bottles to peep. Local, foreign, small batch... it was really impressive! I was surprised I hadn't heard about them before. If you live in the area and you're hosting a party at your house, don't go anywhere but here to stock up on the goods. Especially the beer! read more

Thomas Street market - I love you! A friendly, independent neighborhood convenience store that stocks quality food and drink items that you actually want, rather than crappy items that will just do in a pinch. Word to the wise - this shop is MUCH bigger than it appears from the outside. If you're in the hood take some time to explore the whole store. I was surprised at all of the sundries they carried. Beer and wine selections are stand-out. As are the welcoming, darling owners and employees. I was looking for some Vinho Verde wine ( the best summer soda vino EVER), inquired about it and it was in store the next week!!! Seriously, if you can't find something you are looking for, and are going to be a regular in the hood - ask about it. It could be in-store on your next visit! Delish breakfast bagel sammies ( egg or bacon, choice of cheese, and egg) served everyday, in addition to their regular deli sandwiches which are served everyday until 7; except Sunday - when the deli closes at three. I love this place! I've been here twice in the last week after gnarly cravings for more, and the sandwiches continue to not disappoint. It's hard to find a delicious classic deli sandwich and I now need to look no further. So far, the sandwiches I've tried include: - the unbelievably amazing BROADWAY (chicken and homemade BBQ sauce, homemade coleslaw, and bacon; check the written menu, it's not on the board) - The BIRD (a nice holiday-ish sammy with cranberry sauce) - TURKEY DELIGHT (yummy but pretty standard) The couple that owns the place is super friendly and relaxed. This is such a great thing to have in the neighborhood! When it first moved in, I was reluctant to abandon good ol' Summit Market down the street - and I haven't completely! - but the deli sandwiches are hard to pass up. Pretty good price for yummy deli sandwiches made on the spot and the woman (wife of the manager?) who makes them is so friendly and delightful! I'm more or less a pescatarian, so I get the same thing (Seattle Underground - tuna salad) basically every time, but I HAVE tried others and they're pretty delish. I don't really get the people in the reviews who have lowered their rating for this place based on prices being too high - duh. It's a convenient store. And it's not a corporate-owned 7-11. If you want cheaper prices, go to the BIG grocery store. But then, of course, you LOSE the CONVENIENCE. That's sort of the point. And they have lots of in stock! It's a little bit of a maze, but it's not so huge you can't find your way around and if you ask someone working there, they will point you in the right direction. I always find myself missing things for a recipe and being able to pick them up at Thomas Market. Overall, such a great addition to the street. People working there are casual and friendly. I guess if you're super uptight, it might be too casual for you? But then, hey, you're in the wrong neighborhood. read more

Yay.. My first review since I moved to Seattle! I wish it were a better rated review. I'm in corporate "Execustay" apartment for a month and wanted to get some stuff for my first full day/night. I didn't really want to go too far and I saw that the market had good Yelp reviews. I took note of the reviews that said it's pretty big, it has meats and cheeses, and good sandwiches that they stop making at 7pm. I made sure to get there before 7pm. I guess I was expecting "main course" type meats rather than sandwich meats and salami (my bad), and didn't find too much ready-made for dinner, so I decided to have them make one of their (supposedly) delicious sandwiches. He told me they stop making sandwiches at 7pm... it was 6:54. C'mon.. everyone has a phone with auto-updated time on it now. There's no way he didn't know it wasn't 7 yet. I would have pushed the issue, but I've learned never to eat food from someone you irritated.. and besides he just finished petting some neighborhood dog that was somehow allowed in the store (not a service dog). I think I now better understand the view of the reviewer that was irritated with the customer service.. The sandwich 'lie' coupled with him assuming I wanted to run my card as debit rather than credit gave me that "you're inconveniencing me" attitude somehow got under my skin more than it probably should have. And just to clear up the store size issue, it's probably not bigger than a typical 7-11, but it's organized like a little maze, so it's hard to judge the size. 7-11s have a much larger beer fridge, but not as much wine as this market. A 7-11 would also have better pricing. I can see that if you are walking/biking or if you REALLY don't want to give up a prime parking spot in front of your apt, that this market might seem like a good deal. I'm gonna go and plan ahead and stock up at a real grocery store instead. I hearby rate Thomas Street Market as a solid "Meh". I don't see a reason to give it a second chance. read more

The Thomas Street Market (TSM) is a kick-ass addition to the neighborhood. It is ran by friendly people who keep an extremely clean shop, which is especially important for a market with a deli. The deli primarily uses Boar's Head meats, cheeses, etc. and the sandwiches they make from these ingredients are solid. The sandwiches can't compare to the ones made by Honey Hole, but for a market deli, it's excellent. When I visited, I had a corned beef sandwich (forgot the name) it came with a pickle spear on the side and a york peppermint patty-like candy. The sandwich was good and from the packaging, complimentary chocolate, etc. you can tell they want their customers to return. Aside from the deli, the market essentially is a place to go for WINE and BEER. Half the store practically is comprised of ALCOHOL. I can't speak to the Wine selection, aside from the fact that they have a ton, but if the variety is anyway reflective of what they offer for beer, than it's all good. The BEER SELECTION is comprised of the usual blue moon, sessions, pyramid, and the multiple varieties of 'water,' etc. but it also has a lot of beers that you would find less common in supermarkets, such as Ninkasi, Rogue, Bridgeport, and Kona brewing co., etc. They also have a few super local Seattle beers, such as a brew from this pub in Maple Leaf (forgot the name, ha). It's tough to compete with the size of the Wine and Beer dept. at QFC, but I believe there are a few brews that TSM has which QFC doesn't. Aside from the deli, wine, and beer, the market has your usual essentials: painkillers, non-alcoholic beverages, junk food, cheap pastries, ready to eat fridge food, and freezer food, and a limited selection of produce. I'm not sure if they have cigarettes. The price on items are about 30% higher compared to a big box supermarket like QFC or Safeway, however it's reasonable for a smaller privately owned business. Overall TSM is a clean market with a great selection of alcohol which is, let's face it, all we-on-the-hill ever buy from grocery stores. read more

I'm glad this market is in the neighborhood. It's more than just a convenience store. There is a wide selection of merchandise here -- the store is a lot bigger than it looks from the front. Also one of the best wine and beer selections anywhere on the Hill. Lot's of "torpedo" sized beer bottles with brews I've never heard of before. I've tried several already. What a great addition to the neighborhood! This market is very clean and well kept. All prices are very near QFC or cheaper and they have a great beer and wine selection as well. One thing that sets this market apart is the quality of items the store and deli offer. From Boars head meats and cheeses to the vast assortment of small label craft brews this is my new spot for grub and liquid when in need. They also have kettle boiled bagels from Seattle Bagel Bakery for sandwiches and toasting. When in need of some essentials on the hill give this new local spot a try. just FYI thomas street market. cabbage with mayonnaise isn't coleslaw, its cabbage with mayonnaise..Colelsw is made with vinegar (european) or buttermilk (USA) the only restaurants that make it with mayo are cheap and cost cutters, which I didn't think you we're, apparently I was wrong. All Capitol Hill mini markets take notes! This is the best corner store on the hill. The selection here is vast and ever changing. They all make some of the best sandwiches in town. Their prices are consistent with corner stores and not exorbitant. And the staff is always pleasant. Great place for vegetarians to get their Reuben fix because their portobello Reuben is absolutely delicious. I love grabbing a few sandwiches here before heading off to a picnic. There is a spot to eat your sandwich out front but its hard to guarantee a seat. read more

I really do not do reviews, but I feel very compelled to rate this wonderful convenience store. I live 3-blocks away and only recently discovered the haven. It has EVERYTHING you could ever want at any hour of the day! Toothpaste, nail clippers, detergent, perfect selection of alcohol, great sandwiches, groceries, cigarettes, hairbrush. Talk about convenience. And the nicest lady works the morning shift! She's such a lovely lady. I also love that they advertise Boar Head deli meats and have a sitting area out front. I'm moving out of the neighborhood soon, but I will be coming back to this corner frequently. Analog Coffee next door makes this my favorite morning spot. read more

It's clean, modern, has a friendly owner, and boasts a wine selection of a scope and scale I've never seen in any other convenience store. T-Street Market is at the center of a convenience store nexus. One block to the south is Hillcrest Market which is another great one. A few blocks the other way is Summit Avenue Foods. This store opened shortly after I moved to the hill--and they became a life staple for me quickly. Pretty early on, they changed owners--but the current owners are even better than the original one--and that guy was cool too. TRY THE MONTLAKE CUT. That was my go-to bad day sandwich on the hill because there's nothing that chicken, bacon, and Muenster can't fix. Before they changed owners, I requested an item, and they had it on the shelves within a few weeks--I'm sure if you talked to the owners now, they'd work to get your item in, too! read more

Wow! This place is huge! You walk in and walk to the back to enter another section and behind that another section and to the left another room! It is surprisingly large. I am so excited this opened up & just a couple blocks from my apartment! It's brand new and soo clean! The staff is friendly. Things seem to be decently priced. For a small local corner mart, this place is great! Some prices are a little higher than the average grocery store (but not by much), and given the convenience, selection and customer service, it balances out. I also live right down the street from this Market and after continuously peeking in the windows during construction I am sooo excited it's here! As the the other reviewers said it's much bigger than expected and with a remarkable selection. Being able to walk 1/2 a block to get a head of garlic or a tomato when making dinner is so amazing. It's always clean, well stocked and the service is great. I even made a request for a specific beer and they said they'd definitely ask their rep for it. The deli is also superior to what you might expect from a convenience store. I tried the "buffalo connection." SO good! And ten points extra for wrapping the pickle so its separate and doesn't make the bread soggy (a pet peeve of mine from other sandwich shops!) They also include a little chocolate mint patty in the bag : ) All the little ways that this establishment tries a little harder is what sets it apart. 5 stars all the way. read more

Great sandwiches! I love their BLT, and the woman who makes them is very friendly about any customizations you might want. They always hire an eclectic, but friendly group of people to work there. Being a few blocks from my house I tend to stop in on a really regular basis. Only downside is the credit/debit fee!
