This place is along the road that's one way only so make sure if you want to go here you turn in the right area. It's next to the marinas so it's convenient for those who are going there. It does sell lottery tickets so I saw people buying them inside while I was visiting. The store itself is clean although they're placing of items on the Shelf was interesting because it they were moved to the front so they only had to be a little bit of stock which is kind of smart actually. It has gas station type coolers with lots of drink options. And some candies that were overpriced quite a bit. Their menu of food looked really good and sounded really good and was reasonably priced however I wasn't terribly impressed with the Service from the gentleman at the cash register so I ended up not ordering Period I really wish that it had been different because the jalapeno popper cheese sounded amazing And the Hawaiian grilled cheese sounded amazing and frankly the bulgogi sounded really good too. I ended up not ordering simply because of the vibe I got are they feeling I got it's pretty dark inside this location so know that when you're going inside as well it almost looks like it's closed. It does look like they make espresso drinks but I didn't try one. read more

Stopping into Westlake Deli & Grocery was a quick in and out after a long hike. The service was friendly and helpful and they carried travel size ibuprofen which was perfect for what I needed. They do take cards but we ended up paying in cash because the price was so reasonable for the over the counter pain relief. I cannot emphasize enough how unassuming this little shop is. Honestly from the outside it looks downright shady, so anyone who has lived in seattle for any length of time will know right away that this place is the real deal just from this information. I walked in while on a walk up westlake because I was hungry and assumed they would have pre-made sandwiches or protein bars or something small to snack on. So I walk in and completely miss the giant menu board until I'm about to check out! I immediately order a bulgogi in addition to the sandwich and am so ridiculously surprised by how extensive their menu is for such a tiny store run by one couple. Now keep in mind if you see a bad review, this area in particular has people that are known to be a bit...uppity and uncultured. I don't mean to throw shade because I do live here, but it is what it is. This place is actually a cute small business with delicious food and anyone who judges it to the specifications of a chain deli are really missing out. My salad was surprisingly fresh and the bulgogi was amazing. I gave the sandwich away to my husband (I donate to charity sometimes, what can I say) and he enjoyed it so please don't sleep on this little corner store! read more

My significant other basically works next door so that's how I discovered Westlake Deli & Grocery. This place is more like a convenience store with bottled drinks, chips, ice cream bars, candy, alcohol, and some miscellaneous food and home items. They also have a nice sized menu of food that they will cook for you or some already made sandwiches and snacks. Seems like a lot of reviewers are not taking into account that this place isn't an actual kitchen. I first tried this place during lunch and was able to get the burger and fries. The toppings are really customizable and I am impressed with their options. It was surprisingly tasty and the fries were great too. Everything was hot and fresh. In the mornings, I like to get their sausage, egg, and cheese croissant. It really feels like they are cooking a meal for me in their own home. I even hear her mixing the eggs so you know it's not from a carton or frozen. The prices for the burgers and breakfast sandwiches are really cheap and reasonable. Their sandwiches can be a little bit more pricy but they make up for it by having a stamp card of eventually receiving a free sandwich. My favorite go to is bacon, avocado, swiss cheese, cucumber, and cream cheese! The owners are incredibly nice and I feel good about giving them my support and service. read more

I sometimes plan my week around the chili special on Wednesday -- I usually eat at Boathouse Deli (which is very good and a stone's throw away from my work), but sometimes for something different I trek north up the Westlake Strip and drop into the Westlake Deli. The chili can be a bit inconsistent -- one week loaded with hot dogs (not my fav), the other a bit less spicy than before (I like spicy!). But usually it's pretty good. The owner (Li) died earlier this year (2008), very sad for such a young guy -- he often asked questions about work and/or life -- chatted me up. But the other guy who has worked with Li for many years is also fantastic -- an excellent sandwich maker, and alway comes through to help on the special requests -- super nice guy. This deli also has a fairly impressive convenience store -- a large refrigeration/drink section and an impressive selection of wines -- for the size of the place. PROS: GREAT SANDWICHES AND CHILI. RELATIVELY CHEAP. CAN PICK UP TONIGHT'S WINE OR BEER HERE. CONS: NONE REALLY -- it's a neighborhood deli, whatdya expect -- 12 waiters to cater to your every need? Hahaha. read more

LOVE THIS PLACE, would give it 5 stars but the prices are really steep. The shop is run by a really sweet couple that rotate their time to stay in the store (talk about commitment). They have a great wine selection and make typical small cafe stuff like sandwiches and serve coffee. They serve breakfast, lunch & dinner! They also have many small household supplies but be prepared to pay more money for an item then at a grocery store. EX: I bought the small Tide laundry detergent there for $9.99 it was only 6.99 at Safeway. I must say I love their Burgers (comes with fries) for $7.00. This is a custom burger on a tasty gourmet bun with fresh ingredients. My favorite is: Mayo, Mustard, Pickles, Peperchines, Jalepeno, Cheese, Black Olives! If I Could give this place zero stars I would. I ordered a chipoltle turkey wrap for $5 and if by turkey wrap they mean lettuce wrap then they really knocked it out of the park. This "wrap" had one thin, anemic looking slice of turkey and perhaps some portion of a slice of cheese. The avocado was a nice touch but didn't make up for the fact that the wrap was 95% romaine letuce. I am still hungry from my "lunch" experience and will not be going back. Keep driving on past this place. What a waste of time - oh and yeah they have one person working there who takes the orders, makes the food and rings everyone up. This is one of the best half convenience store/ half deli spots in Seattle. I have a strange fascination for the hidden office building deli, with its utilitarian, 15 minute lunch vibe . Usually the food is so much better than the setting and the people are hardly worth watching, but I guess those dichotomies are intriguing to me. Westlake Deli is more colorful than the usual express lunch spot, since it has the convenience store portion to it, with a surprisingly nifty wine selection and much cozier lighting. Still this is a place for eating quickly or grabbing an imported six pack. I was very impressed with the sandwiches I had there, and that was the whole point. They always seemed pretty busy too, which tells you they know what they are doing. read more

I had to laugh as I scrolled down and saw that someone else had the same experience that I just had here. I too had the Chipotle Turkey Wrap, (aka: the lettuce wrap). It was the most uninteresting wrap I've ever had, pretty much all romaine, a glop of chipotle spread and one pathetic slice of turkey! (I think it was Budding). All for $4.99. At noon you'll have to wait your turn but it's well worth it. I'm partial to the turkey avocado and bacon sanwitch but everything else I've had has been good. Not cheep particularly but really good. You'll notice that most of the lunchers are regulars. If the sandwich guy offers to make something unexpected, go with it, he's good. They have a couple tables. read more

I love coming here just for their burger! I tried them out last year when I started going to physical therapy next door. Almost every other session I have with the physical therapist I come here early just to enjoy lunch. The staff here is quick and efficient so as not to waste your time.
